Holiday Inn Farnborough3.0 out of 5.0

I stayed for one night on business. The hotel is having a refurb. Must be a holiday inn investment as last week I stayed at a holiday inn in Heathrow which had recently undergone a refurb! I have been suffering with my back and had a heavy case and other bags and was disappointed that there were no lifts. I struggled up the stairs while being watched by the cleaners! The room was very basic but the food from room service more than made up for it. Having said that the bed and pillows were so comfortable and it was very quiet. I usually stay at the Aviator but it was fully booked. I think once you’ve stayed at the Aviator everything else is downhill. Very friendly receptionist though.
I was attending a conference nearby on business and spent one night at the Holiday Inn Farnborough. On arrival I was warmly greeted and check in was straight forward. The room was cosy and comfortable and had everything I needed. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the waiting staff were excellent and very accommodating. I am on a special diet and needed some amendments to the options given on the menu. Nothing was too much trouble. The only reason it isn't a five is that the floorboards are incredibly creaky. So I could hear every footstep from the room above. Otherwise it was a good experience and I would stay again.
This hotel is definitely a maze especially with the redirections as the Hotel is being refurbished, however staff are nice and friendly. The hotel is clean and tidy. Enjoyed my stay, thank you to the staff.
I expected more. Great hotel chain but they are clearly in upheaval. The room was comfortable but the shower was incomprehensible. Single beds and the breakfast was ok but in a temporary setting. All this said you know things have to be updated but you don't want to have confirmation g reception complain or compromise. I will use agian but I was disappointed
The hotel was booked in advanced and when we arrived we found the hotel under renovation! so breakfast was manic every morning and the evening bar was again over run. Did they drop the price to reflect that....of course not. The daily rate fluctuated daily from £97 to a whopping £190....for the same room in the same being renovated hotel. Also when you went up to the bar and ordered food, they decided that they had done enough service to add a sneaky service charge on your bill, and with the prices they were charging for food (I would hate to see the bill of a average family) it soon adds up. The rooms were a good size but cold with the normal things on offer at any hotel. The TV however was rubbish! Why do hotels continue to not offer simple free things like freeview is beyond me! Instead you get a random selection of poor TV channels and out of date pay for movies. If I ever worked here again I would look for somewhere else as what they offer for the cost and location is not worth it.
Stayed here for 1 night on Saturday 28th October 2017, We have stayed in many Holiday Inns over the years and would have to say that this is one of the best despite the hotel undergoing changes, certainly needs a lick of paint looks rather tired. Easy to check in, though walk to the room was longer than we expected though good for some exercise. Free car parking which is always good, easy to find and about 15 minutes from the M3. Staff helpful from when we arrived to when we left which is always good, nice to get a room upgrade which we weren't expecting, room very clean, plenty of pillows which is always good and saves having to ask. We did use the swimming pool, 20p for the lockers which is good, free to use for hotel guests, pool of good size. The only thing which we found strange was the swimming costume drying machine is in the reception area rather than in the changing rooms and no bags to put your wet swimming gear in, though towels are supplied by the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, hot items regularly topped up and what was nice was a member of staff walking around filling up mugs of coffee, nice selection of cold items also, staff kept the area tidy. We would stay again, Yes we would
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at this hotel 2 weeks ago, we cannot praise all the staff enough for a fantastic day the food, service and attention to detail was faultless all of our guests said the same it made our day extra special.... Once again a massive thank you to all of the staff... We highly recommend this hotel for a wedding venue or an overnight stay.
Lunch for eleven people on Wednesday 25th Oct. In spite of refurbishment work going on, we had an excellent meal and excellent service from all the staff. Couldn't be bettered. We look forward to our next meeting there in 2018. Thank you
Stayed at the hotel for the first time back in July when we attended Guildford University open day with my daughter and based on our previous experience we visited again whilst she attended a weekend workshop at the Uni. Our experience was pretty much the same as before apart from the fact that we arrived earlier and left later this time so had more opportunity to relax. Staff all very friendly and helpful and excellent service. The hotel had just started to undergo a refurbishment so breakfast was served in a smaller meeting room instead of the usual conservatory dining area, which meant it was a little bit cramped when busy and when one of the two pop up toasters failed a bit of a queue formed - this lady didn't look too impressed when I put my bread in to the unused side of the toaster that she was using and muttered something about waiting my turn ! We used the pool and sauna area this time thanks to a late checkout on the Sunday morning by which time most people had gone so it was fairly quiet. We will request a top floor room next time, having been woken by the sound of what must have been a small child running around in the room directly above at 5.00am on the Sunday morning.
Stayed for 1 night on business. Check in was quick and easy. All the staff I encountered were friendly. The corridors around the hotel are tired and need a refresh! The room was standard Holiday Inn. Nothing to write home about but clean. The free breakfast was decent and there was plenty of space to deal with the morning rush. My only real complaint is the bar prices but being from the North thats standard for any hotel south of Birmingham!
