Booked this property for one night with my wife and two children part of a package to Pepper Pig world for two days. First impression was positive, free parking, free wi-if, clean, quick check in, close to motorway and close to retail park with restaurants. Room: We booked a family room and got a double bed with a fold down bed, no cot as requested and no bath ( to wash my 3 and 3 month old) just a shower. The cot was rectified straight away by the staff member a trainee wearing glasses didn't catch his name but he was very helpful. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room but no way near enough storage space for clothing. The bed was so uncomfortable we had no sleep the entire night. Restaurant: We decided to eat in the hotel for our evening meal, the menu was very limited and the children's was even worse. No set menu with set prices, if we had ordered a starter, main and afters with a drink it would of cost over £10 for a 3 year old. We expect to pay hotel prices but this was expensive. The restaurant staff were really good. I say staff one bloke with glasses appeared to do everything including running to fetch food and entertain my daughter which is no mean feet. We had the buffet breakfast which was okay, bacon, sausage, cereals, yogurts but the scrambled eggs tasted powdered.. I would only recommend this hotel for the staff and location. The room we had was poor, not a family room. If the hotel wants ito keep getting families needs to improve on its family rooms, certainly its restaurant menu, children's menu and prices. Families we spoke to ate in the nearby Pizza Hut,McDonald's and KFC as it was half the price we paid. We never complained about the room as it was only one night and if we visit PPW again we would look for an alternative hotel.
My friend and I booked this hotel as a stopgap before going to Chichester on Monday when I booke d I was asked what time I would arrive I said possibly 1pm as it was it was 2pm but checkin was 2pm but our was not ready we had asked for accessible I was quite annoyed that it was not ready then when it was it was the furthest room from reception!!!!!. I would have gone back to reception and asked to change room but my friend said not to. There was no service on our mobile phones so couldn't let relatives know we had arrived 😡we had no information booklet in room to know any emergency numbers or when breakfast was as the young man on reception had not told us. All in all I was not happy I wouldn't stay here again first impressions mean a lot!!!!!!
Had A Brilliant Stay 2 nights - Price Excellent - Staff Brilliant - Easy Parking - Free Papers - A FAB Breakfast - Comfy Beds - Very Clean Room - TOP NOTCH - I'll Stay Again This Hotel is Next 2 The Cricket Ground and David Lloyd which th Hotel offered us passes - The KCC Conference Centre only a Mile away which is way we stayed at the Hotel ..
Stopped here a few times now, the rooms are fine and clean, mobile reception is very poor, but you get free wifi. Staff are excellent, never had any problems here, but the food on a night time is rubbish. Breakfast on a morning is self service and spot on. Can get busy, so prices fluctuate.
Everything as expected in a holiday inn good stay and staff where good and the breakfast was as expected, cannot comment on the food as we did not eat here, but for an holiday inn average. Would stay again
Booked two rooms via booking.com for staff. Also confirmed I wouldn’t be staying. The worlds most awful receptionist (Anna) who was so automated and in flexible refused them entry to the rooms unless the card used for booking was present! This in its self would be fraud as I wasn’t staying! Nothing in the T&C’s saying this despite the automated human being on the phone repeating herself endlessly! Absolute disgrace considering they had debuted the card used to make booking!
We always know what we are going to get when we stay here - a good night's sleep at a reasonable price. Breakfast is not as good as some hotels and leaves much to be desired but we book here because we know we get our sleep which us exactle what we want.
Stayed for 2 nights on business. Staff have all been good. Room was clean with small wardrobe and decent desk space. Typical Holiday Inn Express but with a fresh feel. I guess it's quite new or refurbished. Location is not brilliant but parking is free and there are places within walking distance.
Visiting family in Southampton and all the city centre hotels were full and / or very expensive, so we chanced upon this hotel, and what a find! Efficient and friendly staff, great food and a newly decorated (refurbished) room with a decent shower. Free wifi, with masses of parking; we'll be back the next time we are in Southampton! We paid £56 for the room and that included the hot buffet breakfast (and cereal / croissants if you wanted).
Conveniently located a few minutes off the M27 on the edge of Southampton, this place was a great overnight stop on the way to the Cruise Terminal. Beware however, if there is an event on at the nearby Stadium as it might cause difficulty with traffic and pressure on hotel services. Room: Very comfortable and clean, with adequate tea and coffee making facilities. Nice shower with a decent sized cubicle. Extra pillows of different types (great) available on request. Dinner: Disappointing. Choose carefully to get the best of a limited selection. lasagne looked good fish (as in fish and chips) was fine, but a little over cooked. Their chips are not very good. Onion rings tasted of bleach. We noticed others were leaving them too. Restaurant under-staffed and there was some confusion over orders while we were there. Breakfast: limited selection but some nice croissants and bacon. Sausages tasteless, scrambled egg very poor. Coffee from a machine very weak. It was OK, just don’t expect too much and it is bundled with the room price Staff: Appear genuinely friendly and happy to please. Internet: Perfectly OK but understandably a bit slow to download the morning paper. Mobile phone signal: just about doable on O2 Car Park: Good size and protected by a barrier that needs an exit code. Would we stay there again? Yes.
