My Husband and I stayed here this week and found it a top notch hotel. Lovely greeting from staff who were pleasant and polite, at Reception on arrival there was no hassle checking in. Our room was clean, ready and waiting for us. Breakfast, which is included is virtually anything you want fruit, cereal, toast, or full English, which at 9AM ( I think the restaurant opens at six thirty ) the hot breakfast was still hot and still fresh. We didn't try the evening restaurant, only because we were meeting with friends. The morning after our initial check in we went to ask something at reception and were greeted by name. We considered it a very pleasant stay and good value for money. Having not been sleeping too well at home recently, I was delighted when my Fitbit was telling me I was sleeping for more than six hours a night. A good stay in our opinion
This hotel took money from my bank account when I had not used my bank card for any purchases. I was out the country when this happened. I have tried to resolve this issue with a Manager of Holiday Express Inn by the name of Savin who is useless at his job. He has not a clue of how to deal with customers and also how to go about returning my money which they have stolen from my bank account. Beware and look at your bank accounts after visiting this hotel
We stayed here for 1 night to break a journey up and it was a pleasant stay .nice room with a lovely comfy bed, shower was nice and hot and a good choice of breakfast, something for everyone. No complaints at all, very enjoyable stay.
We very impressed with service given friendly staff and very welcoming buffet style breakfast different kind of cereals cooked breakfast drinks fresh fruit and the best thing you can go as many times as you like ... The rooms were spotless with tea making facitlies and very quiet so definitely use again...
Stayed here at a corporate function, and found the room comfortable and clean. However, breakfast was a total disaster. The only cooked choice for eggs was 'scrambled' and this was lukewarm to cold, and barely yellow, guess from dried product. It was not possible to obtain fried, boiled or poached eggs to accompany nice, but cold bacon, cold beans, and good sausage. Food had to be placed on cold plates, further cooling it. Poor comparison to other similar and same brand establishments I regularly use. Not recommended.
Good location near the M27, and adjacent to the cricket ground. Plenty of car parking. Staff were friendly, room although basic, was fine for the price. Breakfast somewhat disappointing, queue of 10 mins at 9:30 for them to cook some more bacon (what hotel breakfast runs out of bacon??). No hash browns, couple of choices of cereal and pastries. One half decent toaster for 50-80 people is not enough! I’d probably stay here again, but would definitely look around first before doing so.
Stayed here over the Easter bank holiday weekend with my young family. Room was clean and a good size, check in was fast and the sofa bed was already made in the room. Breakfast time staff were friendly and helpful. Food was replenished very fast. Great location to visit Paultons Park, New Forest and Southampton City. Good local amenities near by.
Arrived with a room for 5 (sofa and cot needed) should have been ready for 3pm. However due to understaffing had to sort out cot at 7pm. Breakfast was ok when you got it but ran out fast. It’s a budget hotel after all but we have stayed in better organised ones.
You get exactly what you pay for here - a bed and a breakfast - the room resembled a prison cell - bare and stark( I was a professional not an inmate!) with a bed, a desk, one computer chair ( the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on) and the most basic of bathroom facilities - in its favour we were only there one night and it fulfilled its function. The staff however were pleasant and helpful and the breakfast filled a gap - we often stay in Southampton pre cruise and I think next time we’ll stay at our usual slightly more expensive one near the harbour
Half raw bacon and sausages for breakfast, toaster broken, 30 minute wait for a burger in the evening which was poor quality and served on a piece of paper on a tray. Saw bar staff massively short measure pints
