Drove over 800 miles to this rural town to pick up a puppy from a breeder. She suggested this place.Thank God her breeding skills are better than hotel picking skills. We arrived early evening, was told by the desk clerk (Sristi) that she had no ground floor rooms because a large party had recently booked. So we climbed the stairs to our room, number 211. Now, I have travelled 2/3 of this country and the world. I do not expect 5 star accomodations at low cost places. All I really expect is cleanliness and hot water and in the USA, I expect air conditioning that works properly or heat if it is cold. So, the only good news is that Sristi (you will know her immediately as she is tiny but strong), is really kind and efficient. Bad news is, she may be the only thing in the hotel working properly. Worst news is the place is not clean. Either you are clean or you are dirty. The tub had encrusted drops of soap and shampoo on the inside that wouldn't even come off when scrubbed.(how long has it been on there?) When you took some toilet paper and bent over and rubbed the white tiles, the paper turned brown. My wife stepped on the edge of the carpet where the bathroom area tile meets the carpet and the tackless that holds the carpet down was coming through to puncture her toes. Thats a nice infectious trap given the condition of the tile. The air conditioning thermostat is a joke. Forget setting a temperature. The air came on for 15 or so minutes then off for the same amount of time. The place got warm then it got cold. My wife woke up twice, once sweating and once freezing. All this and the fragrant smell of mildew too! We reported it but nothing could be done. Since the parking lot never got more than 40% full, I guess the big party either was fiction or came, saw the rooms and left, smarter than us. I am quite sure this is the worst review I have ever written, but I promised Sristi I was going to do it, as dirtiness is unforgivable in that business as well as the food business. And no, because of the dirt, we did not want to try the free breakfast buffet, can't imagine how the germ count was on those surfaces. Turns out there are lots of other hotels in the area that are a few bucks more. I would have gladly paid it for a clean, air conditioned safe place.
The entire Hammond staff was friendly and courteous. A special mention to Sristi at the front desk who greeted me at check in, she was friendly, engaging, courteous and helpful. After a long drive from NJ to Hammond it was nice to be greeted by such friendly folks. The buffet breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.
Hotel room was clean and accommodating. Staff was polite and quick to answer questions. Only issues were the breakfast tasted like cardboard. (Square eggs) and the pool was filled with leads and other debris and was not skimmed or cleaned at all through my 4night stay
Our room was clean and on the first floor as we requested. I only had breakfast once. By the time I arrived in the dining area at 850, everything was being put away, and the waffle iron turned off. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and sweet, and so were the maids.
We had reservations with a confirmation number for the 18 of march. Upon arriving this motel had neither the rooms are confirmation number. Tried to give us what was left and it was not good. Don t stay here.
I stayed here two nights within 8 days, at the beginning and near the end of a trip. Both times I had a great room, that was very clean and everything worked. The internet worked well also. The staff was quite pleasant both times I was there and willing to accommodate a couple of reasonable requests cheerfully. The breakfast was better than most on my trip. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!
Room 112 has neither a lock nor a smoke alarm. The doors appear never to have been wiped down; they are grubby with fingerprints. The breakfast is from 6-9, with a waffle maker, pastries, cereal and eggs, but the eggs are oddly square. The furniture is falling apart. In all, I was very disappointed and will not stay here again. The beds were adequate and the staff was friendly.
I left a fair review but since learned our credit card was charged, our daughters credit card was charged and fema was charged. They took an additional $ 750.00 and say they did not. They took $420 and 135 also. The room was perfect and clean and we got our deposite back when we left for our yorkies. These charges came a week after we left. The banks have processed our refused use. Do not trust them with your credit card, they are dishonest and told us to drive there 75 miles if we want to discuss it . Really!!! Shame on you! Do not use your credit cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are allowing drunks and smokers to hang outside the door of a non smoking room, I am sick with my heart and they could not move us downstairs.
We enjoyed our stay there because the people there made it very easy. The food for breakfast was great and other visitors would talk and share information about recovery. The front desk clerk was so nice and concerned about the visitors. We had to leave because a lady complained about my four dogs. She was correct, I could not take them down the stairs due to the smokers hung out there. I get sick from the ashes on the ground and do not want it on our shoes or their feet. There was a lot of partying but the people partying were workers for the flood and from out of town. The room next door had a lady screaming a lot. I liked the room and the India MTV was so cute. We wish them the best and thank them for their understanding.
My family and my dog stayed at the Lexington Inn after our home was completely demolished due to the August 2016 flooding in our home town of Denham Springs, LA. Apsana was extremely polite and professional and went above and beyond to assist my family with all our needs. She was always in a pleasant mood and made our time at the Lexington very meaningful. Even though the hotel was completely booked up and things were busy she took time away from her desk to assist me with some computer issues I was having. Apsana is such a wonderful employee and deserves to be compensated for her hard work. While staying at the Lexington Inn I also had the pleasure of meeting Tasha. She worked in the breakfast area as well as other places around the hotel. I witnessed her doing many things around the hotel and always had a smile on her face. I honestly can say that because of her I was able to hold myself together and see sunshine at the end of such a horrible situation. She was the highlight of my day. Going down for breakfast was something we looked forward to because she was always there to have a friendly conversation with and to lend a caring ear. She shared with me and my family about how her son (who is now 6months) was hospitalized when he was a newborn and how he made it thru and is now a very healthy happy little boy. She had no idea that my daughter who lives with me just had a baby on August 01, 2016 and he had been air lifted from Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge La to children's hospital in New Orleans just hours after his birth. He was born with a heart defect which required open heart surgery and has been in CICU for over 3weeks. Tasha's son was also in the same hospital and was given news that wasn't very promising same as we were. Meeting her gave my family hope. She was by far the best hotel employee I have ever met in my life and I will be going back to visit her. I made a friend for life in Tasha and I feel so grateful to her for so many things but mostly because she is such a kind soul and deserves to have all the happiness in the world. Lexington Inn owners should make sure to take care of employees like Apsana and Tasha and consider themselves lucky to have employees with such Wonderful abilities. We will most certainly recommend this hotel to all of our family and friends. the rooms are very clean and modern and pet friendly. The business center has fast internet and a printer available for guests to use. The breakfast was wonderful with many different choices and hot coffee is always available in the lobby. Thank you Lexington Inn for helping my family after this disaster.
