Hotel Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg

We like to treat ourselves to a really nice hotel at the end of a series of travels, and this one fit the bill perfectly. The bed was luxurious, the sheets were luxurious, the bath featured a rainfall shower and a large tub. Every detail is attended to - from the large, soft towels to the slippers. The staff was helpful, friendly, and spoke decent English.

We spent two nights at the Atlantic Kempinski. Having stayed at other Kempinski hotels we were expecting a hotel that was elegant and comfortable. The Atlantic did not disappoint. The rooms were large and comfortable, with excellent bathrooms. Having purchased the hotel stay as part of a "promotion", we were assigned one of the smaller rooms. Nonetheless, the room features were top notch. The public rooms and pool are beautiful. We especially enjoyed afternoon coffee/dessert in the courtyard, and drinks in the lobby in the evening. Although we dined out, and accordingly are unable to comment as to the food, the breakfast room and dinner restaurant looked impressive.

Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted to stay at the Hotel Atlantic. Now that I had a business trip to Hamburg, I was able to make that dream come true. The Hotel Atlantic did not disappoint. it's beautiful! The rooms are spacious and wonderful, even though I had one of their second-cheapest categories of rooms. It's just a classy place and the 101 details they pay attention to in order to make it that way really make a difference. The only thing that is a weakness of the hotel is the gym. It's the ultra bare minimum that one could still call a gym. It's in a wing that was built in the 60s with rooms that aren't even offered to guests anymore. Sometime soon, they're supposed to gut or demo that wing and redo it all. If done right, it will really make the Hotel Atlantic second to none. Next time, I hope to try their breakfast which is a bit on the pricey side, but may be worth it. We went to Mutterland around the corner which is amazingly good with great pricing.

Hotel Atlantic is conveniently located close to the main train station-Hbf in Hamburg. One can easily reach the hotel by foot within 5 minutes. The hotel offers umbrellas for all guests which is extremely nice considering the weather in Hamburg. The hotel lobby is small yet classy. Although recently renovated, the hotel still has a traditional feel to it using normal keys instead of electronic keys used by most hotels. The rooms are quite spacious and some offer decent views of the lake. The pool is spacious and the saunas are nice. The breakfast is just average with fewer selections when compared to other 5 star hotels in Germany. The service however was very good. The free internet was a pleasant surprise and was fast and stable. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone.

Great history, service and location. You really just feel the city and building's history as soon as you approach and then step inside. No complaints at all. Only thing is the lack of amenities (so far as I noticed) such as a jacuzzi or pool. Not sure if there was a gym. There was a spa, but it was kinda hard to access--no big deal, though. A gift shop would have been nice, given all the history--didn't see one. Location is just two blocks from the central train station.

Carefully renvated towards a modern traditional standard. Very helpfull staff. Free wifi, good choice at breakfast buffet, very nice bathroom amenities, bathrobes, slippers, plush towels. Very impressed by the embroideries on the cushions. Overall a top experience. Worth to go there every stay.

The Atlantic Kempinski is a wonderful hotel with touches of the past in the new renovation. The piano bar off of the lobby was a wonderful experience, allowing for nice piano music and good conversation. The service staff knew their wines and made good suggestions. The guest room was very nicely appointed, quiet and the heated bathroom floor amenity was a plus. Everything that you would expect from this caliber of hotel.

This hotel was built in a prewar era when hotels were classy and sophisticated. I have traveled on business for 30 years so I am particular since I live out of suitcase. I really like this hotel. It will be my hote, everything I go to Hamburg. Staff really busting their butts to make it perfect. They really care. No need to look further. Safe travels

Excellent value, top location and fine place to relax and enjoy and discover Haburg City , the beautiful and best shopping place in Germany.

Excellent Staff and rooms - a Bit over priced. Location great. Free Bikes to ride that was very nice. Would stay again if price was right.

The staff were very accommodating. The renovations are well done. The location provides good access to shopping, good restaurants and town center.

If you go to Hamburg, you just got to go here. Incredible. Too crazy so well we feel. Second time here in 5 months, and we will come again, and more often.

As an old client that had given up on The Atlantic, I was pleasantly surprised that most renovation is completed (although some command parts of the lobby, restaurants are a bit dated). So, it is back to its old glory and also back to some overpriced items (such as breakfast).

after our departure, my wife and I decided, when we visit Hamburg we go to the Atlantic!! A promise!

The famous globe symbol of the hotel and a rainbow flag for Pride Week Kaiser Wilhelm II still watches over the lobby, just like he did in 1909
