The hotel is in good location, closed to Hamburg Central Train Station. The room is clean and comforttable at this price. I had good sleep all night. There are the room for luggage after you check out with only 2 Euro.
It was a pleasure stay and very near at the central station of trains where U can buy a bus tour. There is a bar where the people talking about very experiences in the city and other countries where they stayed.
Very great hostel, silent rooms because of the very thick doors and windows. Personal socket and small light at the bed. Bathroom inside the room, very great service and a nice bar downstairs! It's more expensive, but it's worth it!
Location top. Just in front of the metro haupbahnhof (train station) and very close to the bus station (2 mins from the flixbus stops). I was in a room with 6 beds with Very large lockers (don't forget a lock though!). The shower (small and without window) and toilet (small and wuthout window) were within the room. When I arrived the shower was clean but it has been never cleaned during my 3-day staying. The bedsheets were clean. No towels for the shower were provided. Staff at the reception very nice. Lockers close to the reception of different size available for 6 or 12 hours (I paid for the biggest one 3 € for 6 hours), in case you need to leave your luggage after the check out. The wifi was unfortunately working during the first day but it has been fixed and it was properly functioning afterwards. Unfortunately no activities were organized but the atmosphere was overall nice. I was very surprised about the price (Fri 32€, Sat 48€ and Sun 23€): 50€ In my opinion are far too much for a hostel.
I shared A twin room with my daughter, and even she thought that the sntisociabehaviour of the large school group was unacceptable. Security advised that there was nothing that could be done until curfew at 11:00pm. So a great Hostel visit ruined by a bunch of partying ( underage?) drinking youngsters who couldn't take their party to the bar due to their age (?). The Generator would be well advised to restrict the size of such groups to ensure adequate supervision.
We stayed there for 5 nights in a private room for 6 persons. The location is IDEAL next to the Central Station. Despite its location the room was really quiet. The room was big enough, but the rooms' bathrooms are tiny!! We couldn't even wash our teeth there, so we had to use the common bathrooms. The hostel is generally very clean. We also rented bikes to move around in a very good price. I totally recommend it for students on a budget vacation.
We stayed here in a 6-person room, it is all quite decent, well located, and seems well run. The toilet and shower were on the small side. Clean. It is very large, we had no problems with noise or other inconveniences and even saw families staying there. Basically it does not cater just for typical hostel guests.
I only stayed one night at the Generator Hostel but found it to be a great hostel. I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm that was big (although the bathroom was small) with modern clean and comfortable bunk beds. It had good security, friendly helpful staff, excellent facilities and a great location (directly opposite the main train station and hence in the city centre). Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
This hostel is barely a hostel, staying there felt like staying in a hotel even though we were staying in a dorm room! Each bed had 2 plug sockets and 2 USB sockets and 2 light settings. It was fantastic. The hostel is also located perfectly next to the main Hauptbahnhof, which every single line on the U-Bahn and S-Bahn pass through, so getting around is incredibly easy. The only problem that I had was that the bathroom in our room was a bit small, so every time I was trying to get changed in there I would accidentally knee the wall... But other than that, I loved this place, and would 100% stay there again if I were ever to revisit Hamburg.
This hostel has a very little spfce for WC and shower box. I was very unsatisfied with this. This is one of its big gaps. Good location. But the area is dirty. Just across the road centrls railway station. Close to old city.
