Van Der Valk Hotel Charleroi Airport3.0 out of 5.0

Picked the hotel as had any early morning flight and was surprised and delighted that I did. Amazing restaurant and bar area that allowed us to chill and end our trip in comfort. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a hotel close to the airport. Excellent shuttle service too.
I was only one night but I found myself very good and the breakfast was top. From Italian I would like a larger pillow and a lighter blanket; because the night was hot even with the window open. On average very good.
Stayed here as a stopover during a long distance road trip as rooms were reasonably priced (room only) and looked comfortable with all the facilities we needed enabling us to turn up, eat and go to bed. It's not especially easy to find nor is it in a particularly salubrious part of town, and we only found it easily thanks to sat navy and a bit of pre-trip armchair research on Google Street View. The hotel itself is well presented, clean and looks inviting. Car parking is adequate although a recently introduced system gives you a ticket valid only for six hours. Don't worry about this - you should be given a ticket to get you out again free of charge when you check out although this wasn't immediately obvious. First impressions on checking in were that reception staff might have been a little more welcoming, but the process was efficient enough and as you'd expect of an establishment that markets itself as an airport hotel - English is widely spoken. Our room was 320, an average size with a large double bed, free mini-bar, a nice modern wet room with a shower only, and a separate WC. Noise from aircraft was not really noticeable, and the window view of an Intermarche was somewhat better than a busy road to the other side of the hotel. We felt the room only price of €88 (June, mid-week) was good for the general standard of the room and level of comfort. Most hotels these days seem to scatter the bed with so many pillows and cushions that it's necessary to spend a good few minutes removing them all before retiring. Here, you only get two small pillows. Dinner in the large restaurant was a good experience on the whole. We dined on the terrace being as it was a warm evening and were able to choose from a great selection of dishes and delicious desserts, served by staff who seemed to be making the effort to add to the experience. A small thing but the cokes we were served to drink with our meals were tiny and the glasses were more like test tubes. Breakfast had rather less atmosphere. Rent-a-Goldfish is certainly a novel idea. But no, we didn't!
Nice hotel situated close to the airport, accomodation for a good price. Enough parking places. Good wifi internet connection. Room with own bathroom. Missing air conditioning (during summer is too hot inside the room) and with opened window you can hear lot of noise from highway and airport.
I alway reseve this hotel for my staing in BE. I think it is one of the best hotel in Charleroi area. It is also a pleasure to stay in the restaurant for a dinner or simply to drink. Very close to the high way.
Taxi or hotel shuttle is 10 min. Hotel is in the town of Gosselies, which has a tram to Charleroi center. a ten min walk to the tram from hotel provides some local color for coffee shop and pastries. If you have time to kill, this is the ticket...
Nice rooms. Easy and free parking, just off the motorway. Well kept hotel and rooms. Small supermarket walking distance across street with foods and beverages. Modern bar and restaurant...did not visit but walking past it was crowded. Low marks for heat/cool controls. Open patio door to cool room.
Room clean and fresh but extra beds of poor quality. The hotel restaurant excellent. Near the motorway but the surroundings not very nice. Staff friendly and could speak english. Free parking easy to access.
Warm welcome, classy rooms and excellent value for money. The fly & drive option is the best offer ever. The location is perfect near to the airport. We liked the spacious rooms. The bathroom had a rainshower!
Room booked over booking.com. The bathtube was not clean so I asked for replacement which had same issue. I had to go down to pick up the key on my own. Finally got an upgrade which was nice and handled by manager. No discount was given as promised but free upgrade only. Must have been some misunderstanding.
