The staff are so helpful and nice and I mean ALL the staff really tremendous people. The location is fantastic right at the market square entrance and right where all the action is yet so quiet and lovely inside. It was clean with cold water dispensers everywhere and the foyer had fruit in the water or mint as something extra just loved it. We stayed 6 days and would gladly go back. The room itself was clean and roomy and has air conditioning where you can set it to your own preferences. It has fridges in each room where you pay for what you consume and there is room in it to store your own cold item. Fantastic and would go back in a flash.

For real. We loved our stay. You are literally 30 seconds from the main square of Ste. Bevo's in old town. We wanted air conditioning because the weather was unseasonably hot, so this was perfect! A computer in the lobby was great since we book a lot on the go. Staff was friendly and helpful, pointing us to the nearest post office and allowing us to check in early, with an awesome room facing the Main Street. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Extra pillows on request. Bathtub and Dove soap in the room. We loved it!

The hotel has a perfect location, close to all attractions and heaps of restaurants! Staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are not huge, but modern and very well equipped. Really nice, spacious lobby with spiraling staircase. Breakfast is decent, with fresh fruit etc., but could have a few more options for a hotel of this excellence.

Well presented and clean with fair sized rooms. Couldn't get a better location - directly above an underground car park and 50 yards from the centre of the bars and restaurants. Free water and apples in the hall are a nice touch. The Breakfast buffet was good value. Would definitely stay here again

The Staff were extremely friendly. Check in was swift and they were only too happy to direct us toward local attractions and eateries. Its location is great and it offered good value for money. Very well appointed establishment.

Not much to say which is good, The building is historic but so is the Hotel The concierge was great and so too the reception staff, but it ends there First of all it is hot inside, A/C is almost none existing We complained and they said open a window but they tried and could not do so they brought is a fan It only worked on some electrical plugs House keeping was terrible, hardly did anything forget any modern computer ports they did not exist We upgraded PAID for a mini suite, not worth the money Mini bar was free but we had to ask reception to refresh it Had to bring our own suitcases from cab to reception This is supposed to be a 5 Star Forget about it If you like old hotels that look like dungeons with lousy service, sweaty sleeping and 20 century technology this is the place for you Save your money go elsewhere

My husband and I are just back from spending 4 nights at this really nice hotel. It is central to all the restaurants and shops. There is a restaurant next door to the hotel where you can eat plus loads along the road!!! The rooms are spotless as is the bathroom and the white fluffy towels-soap/shampoo and shower gel are in dispensers on the wall. Breakfast has very hot food and cold-cereals, fruit, bread, rolls, pastries. (personal choice I like cornflakes.krispies as cereal and they are not here-muesli,nutty c ereal etc. which I do not like but not a problem as plenty other food.) Haarlem is a lovely busy place to stay. We got the 300 bus from Schipol which takes approx. 40 minutes and only cost 5eu each. At bus station in Haarlem turn left and then left again (Jaanstraat) and walk down to bottom of road then left and left again where hotel is situated. I would recommend this hotel if visiting Haarlem. (Staff were very nice and professional)

Great location and helpful staff. We have been to Haarlem many times and will use this hotel in future.Staff printed off my boarding passes as well, responding to my spouses email request in a very timeley manner.

Good location, basic hotel and not restaurant available. They have a pass for a good gym close by. Staff not very friendly but the area is pretty quiet. I had an ok experience as it was the most convenient for reaching in time my business meetings. I would have never chosen otherwise

I recently stayed at the Frans Hals for 3 nights while attending a conference held at the nearby Philharmonie Haarlem. When I say "nearby," I mean "within a 2-minute walk". Perhaps the best feature of this hotel is its location smack in central Haarlem. There are dozens of restaurants, shops, and museums within an easy walk; an Uber ride to Schiphol airport is only about EUR 20, and the train station is easy walking distance as well. The hotel is built around a central atrium featuring a beautiful stained-glass dome and a dual curved staircase. Rooms are typical of Euro hotels: small, but nicely furnished, with two twin beds pushed together to make a queen. The small TV features Dutch-language channels only, but that's OK because you should be out enjoying the city, not watching it. Besides the Philharmonie, there are at least three art museums nearby, the Grote Markt, the Corrie ten Boom house and museum, an art-house movie theater, walking, running, and cycling paths (and the hotel will rent you a city bike, if you need one), the canals, and tons of restaurants and shops. Downtown Haarlem is quite walkable. The hotel includes a decent breakfast buffet; there's an attached restaurant but it was closed for construction during my stay. Water pressure and temperature in the showers are good. My only complaint is that the in-room air conditioner was completely unable to keep up with the 85-95 degree F weather while I was there. This is not uncommon, but be aware that you might want to plan to sleep with the windows open, and the resulting street noise, when it's hot outside. The staff was friendly and competent.
