Elk Mountain Lodge

We had a nice stay here on our recent trip to Colorado. The room was on the second floor and it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room is small and there is very little horizontal surface, but it was adequate. We used our own “white noise” app at night since we needed to have the window open to keep the room cool. The heater works well. The breakfast was good with some homemade hot dishes each morning. One of the best things about this place is the location, which let us walk into town each day and enjoy the culture of this town.

This was our fourth visit to CB and our first to the Elk Mountain Lodge. It was remarkably well thought-out: every detail was already taken care of. It was very clean and quite lovely. It's not common to find such nice furnishings in pet-friendly rooms and we appreciated it very much! The staff were friendly and kindly, which helped us relax. The breakfasts were amazing: something different every day and each morning was tasty. Our only complaint: we over-ate at breakfast time! They even have cruiser bikes available for guests to get around town! That was spectacular because CB is not a car kinda town! We look forward to returning to CB and to the Elk Mountain Lodge!

First time at Elk Mountain in the center of the Town of Crested Butte was a wonderful experience great friendly staff, excellent accommodations, quiet and all amenities. location in the heart of the walk to all great dining experiences would certainly return and recommend ample parking nice breakfast.

Although I agree withs some of the other reviews on the charm and great location, the two young women who worked on the two days we were there definitely need a course in customer service. My companion and I both had experiences in which the hosts were borderline rude.

This place is right in the heart of downtown Crested Butte. Well maintained and taken care of. The rooms are small however well take Care of and clean! The bed and sheets/comforter were very comfy. Our room had a balcony and had views of all the mountains! Will return!

We had an amazing experience at this lodge! Edana was the best host ever and we felt welcome from the second we first walked in the door. Our room was small but very nice and the balcony had amazing views, and breakfast exceeded my expectations! Can't wait to go back :)

Historic Elk Mountain Lodge is delightful, cozy, comfortable! The lodge has been well maintained and updated without losing its charm. The beds and bedding are great, the bathrooms updated and sparkling clean. Enjoy old town Crested Butte and it's great restaurants, just a short walk away. The Lodge serves an ample and healthy breakfast every morning. Relax in the main floor living room, or tuck away in one of the cozy reading nooks. WiFi is strong and free. It's just a great place to stay in Crested Butte!

My husband, son and I stayed here in the fall. It was a perfect room for us with three beds. Beds were good, place was quiet and the food was great! Would definitely stay here again and cannot recommend them enough!

This was our second trip to Crested Butte but our first stay at the Elk Mountain Lodge. It was a spacious lodge with quaint dining in a sunroom or around a large, common dining room table. The breakfasts each morning were delicious. Homemade granola, bagels, yogurt, and fresh fruit for the light eaters accompanied with either blueberry pancakes, egg casseroles, potatoes, sausage, bacon, and bread pudding...different every day! Orange juice, teas, and coffee made it complete. We really enjoyed the quiet alcoves throughout the inn. I even got to play their baby grand piano, which was a real treat. Our room was on the third floor(FYI...no elevators) and had a beautiful view from our balcony of the mountain. The lodge is only two blocks from the main drag, Elk Avenue. We walked everywhere we wanted to go or took the free bus transportation.

We have stayed here a number of times over the years, and the Elk Mtn Lodge just keeps getting better. Impeccably maintained. Delicious breakfasts. Phenomenal hot tub. Warm and helpful staff. Fabulous location (in town, but just two blocks to the free ski shuttle bus). Comfy bed and pillows. Great common space for happy hour get-togethers with old and new friends.
