Stayed there during low season ( Sept) it was very good stay. Very relaxing place far from hassle,we rented a motorcycle through the hotel and got no problem.the guy at the reception speak good english makes island information more easy.really recommended.

Stayed for 3 nights .reported phone didnt work.every day .we will send someone to mend it.we leave tomorrow.phone still not working.they advertise a jaccusi bath.it only works as a normal bath.the resort is beautiful but the some of the staff let it down.its a 4 star resort.with 1 star service.if they put as much effort into customer service.as they do .sitting on there phones.they would do x better job.

Very disappointed. This hotel is not maintained at all. The web pictures oversell the place. Everything looks dirty and broken. The restaurant room smells like dog ! The outdoors seems to be over and over used. The cushion of the deckchair were ready for the bin. At breakfast, you will enjoy the flies, the dirty tablecloth, plates, cooks and the very noisy touristical advices of the boss. We don't mind the vintage. It gives something special to a place. But there, it's collapsing !

Stayed here for five nights with two friends from the UK middle of march. The accommodation for both of us was up a very steep hill they had the benefit of a golf cart service from reception if needed .I had i had two lots of steep steps to climb and a walkway i think for a young family or people of a certain age it would be a problem especially when it rained .Then rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday by the hotels great staff the best accommodation was by reception but you paid more. The restaurant served very good meals and breakfast buffet and was a great location by the beach. There wasn't a lot to do but swim or get a hotel taxi 200 baht to another beach ko pha ngan is now in the hands of developers so see it before it changes for ever .As for the hotel i think with family or friends you would need transport to explore around the island you wont be disappointed.

Area is very peaceful. Nice to chill out and unwind. Stayed here for three nights. First night we ate dinner on the beach which was so beautiful. Food was delicious.Beautiful views during the day and masseuse onsite Found there was very little to do in the evenings. Handful of bars in the area and no entertainment. Bars lacked atmosphere. On arrival, we had arranged to stay in a room with private pool, there was a strong damp smell in the room and we had a few lizards in the room. We did call down to reception to explain the issue, in which they laughed amongst each other about this. I do understand we were in an area where this could occur. After this they proceeded to go on a lizard hunt in our room. As the lizards were too fast to catch, they did move us to a room on the ground level. This room had no damp smell and the bathroom was much more spacious. We still had the private pool, throughout our stay we did have one or two lizards appear in the room. I don't think this resort was for us but I am glad that I did experience it.

Really enjoyed staying for 6 nights in a villa with a pool half way up the hill. Villa was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Although the pool was small it was great to cool off in at the end of the day. Particularly liked the decking area with the two sun beds and swing chair with great views of the sea. The hotel is situated at one end of the beach which makes it very private although you need to walk along the beach and away from the hotel to access the sea as it is rocky directly outside the hotel. The 3 swimming pools were good but agree with previous reviews that some of the sun beds and parasols need replacing. Enjoyed the breakfasts and we also ate lunch at the hotel several times but preferred to walk along the beach in the evenings to eat at one of the many restaurants. Our favourite restaurant was Alex's. Another restaurant we particularly enjoyed, although it is not that easy to find, was Ying Ying's Kitchen - very basic authentic Thai food and relatively inexpensive. There is a mini market a few minutes walk away from the hotel along the beach and also several cheap laundary shops. Arranged collection to and from the pier through the hotel for 300b each which I would recommend as it made things very easy.

My family and I (wife and 4 year old and 9 year old) stayed at the resort in a family bungalow with two bedooms and two bathrooms and loved it! The resort itself feels very private, but is still right on the beach and away from the hussle and bussle of any towns. Many of the rooms are built on the side of a steep hill, but it really wasnt an issue. You just had to be organised to limit trapsing up and down the hill too often. Besides, the higher you were, the better the views. The resort is at one end of the beach, with a 15 minute stroll to the other end with at least 10 bars and restaurants between. We are already planning a return trip.

So first off we decided to stay a couple of days, which turned into almost a week. The room was above the restaurant so it wasn't as far to walk when it was raining (hence why we stayed longer because the ferry looked daunting on the water with the weather we had). The second night we decided to have dinner on the beachside and first off were served by a really nice boy, to then end up hating our dinner halfway through. The waiter boy we had insulted the friend I was with (who's come here for weight loss, detox and yoga) because she'd asked for a big water, with the waiter replying like your friend, and then making a gesture saying she was big. This was horrifying considering his service at the start was amazing and for one comment to just completely shatter that. The room had a lot of broken things inside, and our bathroom was pretty dirty, I had to fix our shower head so we could have a decent shower. When having a shower the drains were either blocked or having trouble draining water because we'd almost flooded the room a couple times because it wasn't draining. The cleaning staff were lovely. There was one particular massage lady that I fell inlove with and would have to be hands down the best thing about this place. She released so much tension and energy in places I didn't even know where a thing! I was seriously about to sponsor her to come back to Australia with us. Hands of a healer, energy worker of a god. Her name was Bae or Bay (something a long the lines). The breakfast buffet was very average, cold and old bacon, lots of flys around, and stray dogs and cats coming freely up to the dining area and restaurant. It says there's a sea view but the rooms above reception and the restaurant don't have sea view or access to any of the spas. Aswell as wifi being a huge problem, the speed isn't great and after going out for the day and venturing this beautiful island we'd have problems trying to connect once coming back.

I stayed here 4 nights with my family (including 2 teenage daughters). Our apartment B11 was very big: hall, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a balcony with hot tub (not working). Room is very clean. Our apartment was up the hill, a 100 meter steep walk which we liked but might be to heavy for older people or people with small kids. Sometimes we used the electric golf car service to get up or down. Breakfast was ok, nothing really special. We took lunch a few times, that tasted better than breakfast. We had diner once, fresh fish from the BBQ, sitting at the beach with torches. I can recommend that! Large swimming pool, also with a pool for the younger ones. Around the pool some maintenance has to be done, but it is not disturbing, just take care with running small children. Overall this a fine place, what you might expect for the room price, but I think it is possible to find better. The bay is somewhat isolated, so taxi is needed for everything. On the beach there are several other restaurants if you need variation.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa halfway up the hill for 4 nights. The villa was nicely decorated and an outdoor spa bath too. Bathroom was spacious but also housed the wardrobe which was little odd. The steps up to our villa were large and quite uneven in places, with no handrail. Not a happy huge issue for us but could be something to consider. Restaurant was nice, breakfast buffet good size with variety of both western and Thai food. Egg station for freshly cooked eggs on request. 3 good sized pools with lots of loungers, but very few (4 broken) umbrellas for shade. The pool deck area is very tired and desperately needs work. Sitting on the beachfront, Salad Buri Resort was a very peaceful and relaxing location which we thoroughly enjoyed. Several restaurants and bars a short wander along the beach gave us plenty of choice for lunch and dinner. Staff were nice and friendly, happy to oblige and easy to find. Overall, Salad Buri Resort was great though could definitely benefit from an upgrade, particularly the pool areas. Recommended for a few days, great location for relaxation.
