very good hotel the staf very nice and helpful the only problem is the hotel beach
This was a surprise for my husband on our honeymoon. I booked the room with a private pool but even I was stunned by all the extra amenities. I could not believe for the price how great it was. In the states a room like that would be way more expensive. It had Indoor/Outdoor showers and a large tub, 24hr golf cart/concierge service, a great breakfast buffet, and spa. I had only booked one day since we were staying on another island but we loved it so much that we stayed a second night. Wish we would've stayed there the whole time. It really felt like a honeymoon there. Everything was so lovely and romantic. Our concierge Wee was AMAZING!!! I don't think he left the entire time we were there just incase we needed something. He recommended places to eat at, shop, etc.. He helped me book an excursion we were wanting to do thru orbitz. Even handled the payment and our shuttle. We just showed up downstairs for pick up. We had checked out for the excursion but they held our bags, offered the gym to shower in when we got back, and got us a car to catch the ferry 40 minutes away when the other one was canceled. If you go there and get a concierge ask for him. He will help you in any way he can...its worth it!
Weakness: - a few staff working at the reception are not friendly to us. - We were not told we must reserve a return shuttle bus time when we booked the go shuttle bus to the downtown, so it was embarrassing when we were told to get off the bus by the driver on the returning trip, and we didn't know what and why it happened. When I wanted to figure out the root cause at the reception when we eventually got back to the hotel by free shuttle bus, the woman mentioned above was not nice at all. - House keeping is not steady. Clean bathrobe were put on the luggage rack; cockroach was found on the wall in the bathroom; didn't provide clean towel and bathrobe if you didn't ask during the room making up...... - Beach is not good to stay long Strong: - Facility is good in the hotel, perfect swimming pool and the room is nice with quite square meters. - Attitude of solving problems and concerns from the hotel manager and supervisor is great, helped us to change (free upgrade) the room with patience, to listen to us to complain, allowed us to check out late due to flight at 4 in the afternoon, and wanted to help drive us to the airport, after the cockroach event. Anyhow, I believe the leadership of the hotel management team is willing to provide best service to the customers, just need to pay more attention to train the staff on house keeping skill, and how to behave in front of problems/questions from the customers.
Everything we wanted in a relaxing beautiful hotel!
We started off scoring an upgrade to the Beachside villa with private pool instigated by them. Absolutely wonderful. The service was absolutely wonderful from the room service delivery time to the speed at which the golf cart would appear after a phone call to get a ride back up the hill. The entire staff was wonderful - every single component. The breakfast buffet choices and quality and reliability were fantastic. They changed up the local thai choices from day to day just enough. Western options were diverse. The pools were fantastic The island is just perfect. Its easy. After a day of looking at how the traffic looks and the island roads go, you will be comfortable renting a scooter and exploring for fantastic food everywhere. I am a regular traveler to Bali and Lombok and Caribbean. This is my new favorite. The only small thing I would complain about Nora Buri - if I was forced to - is it is about time for some new stain and paint on the wood materials outdoors. That'.s it. If I could design the perfect island, I would put more reef right from the beaches somewhere as we really love to snorkel. We are fairly experienced travelers and our experience was really remarkable. Enjoy!
My husband and I went here on our honeymoon in May. In short, the resort was beautiful and the staff was amazing. The buffet breakfast was incredible in terms of selection and taste so we often didn't eat lunch. From the welcome drinks to the golf cart escort to our pool villa to the room service, everything about this hotel was 5 stars. The staff was amazing and the only downsides I can think of was that the beach was rocky and not smooth (take a cab to chaweng if you want a perfect beach) and it was a bit far from the action of chaweng (better beaches, restaurants, and nightlife). Other than the few bugs that managed to sneak in to our room, the view was great and I would highly recommend this place!
perfect hotel frendly staff i couldn´t expect better
great hotel right by the beach, close to airport, attractions, and most of all, they have wonderful swiming pool!!! I n my wife really loved it.
We were at the hotel one week and changed rooms three times. The first room was too far up the hill, the second was too noisy, and the third developed a maintenance problem that could not be fixed. We upgraded to the pool villa and it was lovely. The hotel did give us a discount for the inconvenience, but it was still expensive by Thai standards. There was a lovely view - a beautiful beach where several weddings took place, including live band until midnight. The spa was not yet built, and there was constant hammering. The staff did not seem ready for the few guests they had, so it will be a real challenge for them during high season when construction is completed and the hotel is full. The hotel is on the far edge of Chaweng Beach and not particularly walk able. Taxis are frequent. The resturants had good food and the breakfast buffet was huge. Chaweng itself was uninteresting with one t-shirt shop after another. The sister hotel, Nori Beach Resort looked more mature and far nicer.
