This was our first hotel on our trip throughout SEA and we loved this hotel! We got in on a great deal (around 45 CAD a night including breakfast) which made it totally worth it! The hotel itself is a little out of the way from the busy parts of Samui but we didn't mind as we rented a scooter or we would walk along the beach into town, which was stunning (around 30-45min walk). The manager was extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good, nothing too special but the fruit and pastries were fresh and the eggs were hot! The pool is nice, not too big but we were often the only people in it! There are some sun chairs by the pool but none on the beach (I wish there had been some on the beach!). The beach itself is nice, but very shallow (you have to walk quite far out) and there are some rocks. We actually loved the rock formations sticking out of the water by the bar on the beach to the left of the hotel - very cool to walk through! They serve lunch and dinner which was decently priced and very good taste wise. Our room was absolutely huge and had an amazing view! The shower was small though. my 6.3 boyfriend couldn't fit and had to hunch over but other wise the bathroom was perfect. Overall, if we were back on the island I would come back here!
This was our first stop over in Koh Samui for two nights and what a place it was! Away from the hussle and bustle and minimal noise and resonable priced food. Maybe not a place for kids or if you cant walk too far as the steps down to the pool are steep. If you need to pop into town then head down the pool then onto the beach keep right and follow it all the way to the jetty with the fishing boats on then oppisite this is a slip way which leads you onto the high street where you can dine, shop or exchange currency, this walk should take you 20 mins. A room with a view is room A1 this is the penthouse suite and the views were wonderful and as a treat order dinner and have it sent to your room to eat, drink and watch the sun go down.. Every staff member was happy and always pleased to see you and the manager was always welcoming and always pleased to help. If you want a little romance and peace then this the place for you.
We did not had much luck with the weather, it was raining quite a lot during our stay. The room was clean, however you should not set the AC below 24degrees, as it would freeze and the AC channels crossing the hallway and the bathroom will start to condensate, means, that you have a wet floor, toillet, sink, walls and ceilling. I informed the front desk, they will probably fix it. The view is nice from the balconi. The pool was down near the beach. The stairs are made out of rocks which you have to hit in order to avoid injuries! It's definetly a workout. Pool is clean. The restaurant at the hotel is ok but the service looks unhappy/annoyed.
This small resort is a little faded but in the most perfect way...quiet and with the best family service its a hideaway from the hustle of Chaweng yet a short beach walk away to the town of Lamai. The staff are amazing and the views incredible... I almost don't want to write this review as its perfect dreamy character should not change. The stairs to the beach are rocky so older visitors may not feel comfortable. Its close to luxury places like Rennaisance and Banyan tree but the overgrown beautiful gardens, the great staff and the unique position make this the ideal place to really unwind.
Well this is the forth time I've stayed here and when I arrived the manager remembered me straight away, , which was nice, he gave me a fantastic upgrade to the penthouse which was a stunning room, and as a treat gave me the no1 beach villa, right by the pool with your own garden and feet from the sea, If you can afford and if they are available I would suggest to everyone to book for these rooms, The only 2 things that are on the downside, firstly the breakfast could do with a little more variety, bigger selections of fair, but taste and quality is good, The second is the roadway to the hotel a bit hairy to say the least, but can be managed
Stayed here for 5 nights in Feb , absolutely beautiful views from our room . Room was very clean and spacious , we were in A2. Breakfast was just enough, nice little cosy restaurant on the evening although it was always empty , we ate there a few nights and the food was absolutely beautiful . The staff were very friendly and polite. The owner was always there happy to help you with anything , and wax always interested in what you had planned for the day . This hotel is very remote and you definatly need a scooter to get out and about . The resort is very hilly too, although I would def return to this property .
It's a beautiful resort. We arrived early January and our flight was delayed. Unfortunately we did not get to the resort till 12:30am and the Manager Sewaht waited for us. Everyone was very kind, friendly, and willing to help you. Our room was gorgeous with a lovely view. They treated you like family. If you want to be in the heart of city and hear the noise this place is not for you. If you have physical issues such as walking this may not be the best place for you. If your looking to come back to peace and quiet in the evening this place is it. If climbing up and down big steps to get to the beach or pool is not a biggie then this is the place. We had a wonderful time at the resort. Made new friends, Manager Sewaht is the kindest person you ever met, staff was very kind, and resort pets will give you love. Best trip and resort. If you do stay here please be kind to the people that work their cause they will be kind to you.
The penthouse suite was really nice, but at a price! The views are quite fab and has plenty of space (shared with small and large'ish wall lizards they do not hurt you and are all around of an evening outside the rooms high up on the walls) it has all the usuals e.g. fridge, TV, DVD? Player,2 bottles of water a day for free left out for you, mini bar ( we emptied all of the mini bar drinks out and left on top and filled with our own beers snack etc, cheeky I know but had to have a supply of Chang & Singha beers cold and ready!!) for sitting on the huge balcony. As already mentioned it's a treacherous walk even to the breakfast/dining area and then further down to the pool and beach area so be careful, those with walking difficulties should be aware there's no other way down, but it's a lovely clean kept pool with about 8 or so sun beds and small umbrellas, there's steps down to the beach and if you go to the left there's a cocktail type beach bar we only had one cocktail here, Pina Colada's as was a bit pricey for 2 ( 400 bahts approx £9, I guess overall not that expensive but for a small bar out of the way! )and they were not that nice as was made up of freshly cut open coconuts used to drink the cocktail from, mostly coconut water with small amounts of cocktail ingredients,so was very weak! If you go straight ahead when down the steps, depending on time of day, in the eve you can walk ankle deep in sea water which is kind of nice! to the restaurant Uncle Changs, which was ok, food ok was easy to get to'ish accept for the going down the stairs from the hotel to get to it. Walking during the evening to it along the beach is fine as the sea is out,so dry feet and shoe's all around!!! There is a night market on a Sunday evening in Lamai, opposite McDonalds was great, colourful noisy and enjoyed the long walk all around it and SO many restaurant choices as you'll see! We used taxis quite a bit and to get to Chewang, we barted and got for 400 thb's and to Lamai 200 thb's,you can stop small open topped trucks Called Songthaews they go all over look where there going too written mostly!! on sides of the truck and tell driver and pay when you get off cheap, cheerful and sometimes bum numbing when they drive around over bumps and lumps etc lol we used them to get to Bophut to get to see the Golden Big Buddha, enjoyed our time there, taking the obligatory tourist photos etc having an ice cream and a slow walk back to catch another Songthaews back to Lamai Have a great time, open mind and you will enjoy!!
I visited this hotel with my girlfriend for the 15th and 16th of November and I am glad we only had the two nights. It might be because we stayed when the manager wasn't present but this was my experience. We had emailed them a few times before check on as we booked the penthouse which said on booking.com it had a hot tub. It doesn't, it has a large bath in the bathroom. We called the hotel to see if they could arrange a transfer taxi but the receptionist didn't speak English so could help at all. But was not too much of an issue we booked our own. Upon arrival the receptionist spoke very little English, pointed to the cost of the room on the bill so we paid ( you have to pay in local currency on arrival) We asked if they could arrange a taxi and a boat for us to the full moon party so she rang the manager for us to speak to as she didn't speak English. The manager told us there was no party and I tried to say we had just spent two nights in koh pha gnan and due to the party being moved we were on the island for he wrong day but we didn't really get anywhere with that so I left it. We followed the lady to our room and she pointed down some steps and said pool and that was as much information about the hotel we had gotten out of her. So we went into the room she opened the mini bar gave us the price list and left. We went for a wander down the the beach, it's not much of a beach and there is one or two restaurants on the beach, no sun beds on the beach and not much beach as the water comes up to the hotel. The pool or tiny, there are about 8 sun beds and no shower just a little pool to wash he sand off of your feet. The steps down to the beach are a little dangerous if you are not able bodied but very pretty. We figured the 5 tables and chairs half way down the stairs to the left was where breakfast was served, we never found out if they served lunch or dinner. Breakfast consisted of cereals, a muffin or chocolate cake, a tiny selection of fruit and eggs in any way you like. The coffee was nice though. The room is very spacious however it may have been bad luck my girlfriend had a bit of glass stuck in her foot from the room but apart from that it was clean. Was a bit dark in the room too. The view is beautiful and the balcony is huge as we had the penthouse so was all the top bit.The safe didn't work but we didn't mention it as it seemed a hassle to keep bothering the receptionist as she had to ring the manager when she had anyone at the front desk. Best part about the hotel is you can hire a bike for 200 baht per day but was on empty as we started driving but is was only 60baht to fill up. The road to the hotel is very steep and a little dangerous on the bike so be cautious. Hotel was Overall it wasn't worth the money, I'm not sure if I was paying for the view or the spacious balcony in the apartment but it definitely wasn't for the hospitality. The hotel is out of the way of everything and can ride to chewang or lanai was 500 baht each way which was a hassle overall.
We were lucky to be able to stay 12 nights in this beautiful hotel. Rooms are very spacious with fantastic views of Lamai Beach & very good value. Location was easy to get to restaurants by foot or bike. The manager was very nice and helpful. We would love to come back to this beautiful hotel.
