We stayed here because it was close to the venue where we had a diner party. It was a good choice. We stayed at Bouquet room. Simple, no AC, no safe but comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Across the barranca is a massive construction site so there were hammers (not too loud but quite audible) working at 8am on a Friday morning, not hotel's fault of course but we asked and there's not such noise on weekends.
We didn't expect so much since we booked just to have some rest, so when arriving and knowing the place, it was amazing. It's not to close to the town so you don't get noisy when having rest but not so far so you can have a nice walk from hotel to town.
Highly recommend checking out staying at the La Puertecita Boutique Hotel. Without a doubt a highlight of our stay in San Miguel de Allende during the wonderful month of April...an Easter that will not be forgotten. Without being in the center of the hubbub the location is close to all the activities in this beautiful historic town. Looking forward to the next visit to this very gracious hotel and staff which provided an over the top experience.
If I could give more than 5 stars to this hotel is would. It is beautiful, the gardens are very pretty, it has 2 pools and a jacuzzi , each bedroom has a balcony , a fire place and the beds are very comfortable. The SERVICE is SUPERB !! It was an AMAZING stay.
Maybe I was there on an off week but I felt unwelcome, and uncared for at this hotel. I think I was the only guest there at the time, and the staff was a relatively glum lot hardly able to help me with whatever I needed. I spoke a little Spanish, which worked fine in the village, but not at the hotel. Every interaction resulted in confusion. I booked for 7 nights but left after 4 nights to rescue my vacation from this depressing experience. They charged me for the full seven nights upon checking in, so I am now trying to get a refund for the 3 nights I didn't stay there.
its a warm and wonderful place to stay in San Miguel de Allende....a beautiful hotel....pretty gardens, spacious rooms if you ask for...great service and food....nice ambiance. I really think that money wise is your best choice
We just returned to the US after spending 5 great days in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. We were part of a destination wedding which has held over Independence Day weekend. There were about 40-50 that attended from the east and west coast of the US, and all had a great time. We stayed at a very nice hotel, La Puertecita, approximately 1 mile from the center of town, which is the hot spot in San Miguel. All the staff there were very friendly, the two that stood out were Antonio and Emanuel. These guys could not do enough to help us out. The hotel is on a hill so I'd recommend to cab it to the center, it's only about $3.00 each way, a bargain especially living in the east coast. If your looking for your daily exercise then walking to the town is a nice way to burn calories. The hotel has 2 pools and a spa. They also have great authentic Mexican buffets, and dinner at its restaurant. The suite was very comfortable and has satellite tv. Most of the channels were in Spanish but watching NFL football is good in any language, lol. The concierge at La Puertecita called a cab for us whenever we needed one and it was usually there in 10 minutes. A little advice would be that if you have an early flight or bus ride make sure you give yourself more time for a cab since there are less around during the morning hours (6:00 am). I'd also say to take advantage of the massage, facial and pedicure spa that they offer. It's only $70.00 USD and well worth it. Well hope this offers a little of insight and help in the decision to visit La Puertecita in San Miguel de Allende.
I just stayed and all rooms have a dome so for Shure you will be awake at 7 am I don't recommend this hotel if you want to rest! The service is really kind and friendly. I believe they could better amenities...
Hotel is nice and they have kind staff, the hot tub was the best of the hotel, the water was almost too hot, we ordered a carpaccio with salmon and it was very disgusting, the salmon was smashed. About the bed I have to say that it was too hard, and our sleep was not really good, good for the complimentary drink they offered at our arrival, in general is acceptable if you find a good rate on the Internet
This hotel is on a beautiful property albeit away from the center of town. The rooms are also lovely but this it where it ends. If you are thinking about going any time soon..dont unless the sound of jackhaamers and bulldozers is what you want as your alarm clock. They are building a huge condo complex right across the street and the noise is deafening. There is a restaurant at the hotel and the food is good but make sure you have plenty of time because the service is very slow. There are two lovely pools but they are freezing cold as is the hot tub. One day our room was clean but we were left with no towels so I called the front desk....sure sure but they never came. Went down and took towels from the pool for my shower. I could go on but I think you get it. Overpriced for what you get!
