We really enjoyed our stay at coqueta. We had an amazing view and loved the pool and courtyard too. It seemed like someone had forgotten to finish cleaning our room when we first arrived but the next morning they sent someone up to rectify and all was well! Just remember to bring earplugs because the church bells are very loud even at night. (It's worth it for the gorgeous view of the church though). The staff went above and beyond helping us even very late at night time. I would stay again.

Great hotel, nice place to stay, big rooms, with helpful staff, waking distance to the main plaza, close to famouse restaurants. This hotel is behind the principal church, so at night you can hear the bells, but is not to loud.

We went to have a long weekend in San MIguel de Allende and found what seemed to be a very nice hotel where we planned don staying for three nights. With a couple of rooms, the hotel is actually very nice to the eye. Our room was pleasant with a nice view of the cathedral and the pool. This was the nice part of the stay. We arrived late at night so we really didn't see much. We went down to the pool area and had a few drinks with other guests and enjoyed excellent service by the bar tender. However the next day when we woke up we found pieces of a trash bag inside our bed with long dark hairs that didn't belong to me or my wife (she's blonde) and stained linens that seemed like they hadn't been washed in some time or at least used before without being washed. We told the staff at the front desk before going running in the morning and when we came back from breakfast the room was made but still dirty with hairs on the bed and the floor with additional trash. The mini bar had half opened water bottles and sodas and the bathroom had a terrible odor. This was a real disappointment. The place would be lovely if it really had good management. You can't charge the room prices they do (more than 200 US Dollars per night) and not be able to offer a clean room with respectable linens that aren't stained! The floor totally run down and the bathroom, quaint but really not up to par with old run down towels. Upon returning and telling the manager he wasn't doing his job and we didn't want to stay, we were lucky enough to get a great room in Casa Sierra Nevada by Belmond for a higher price but for a perfect stay, worth every penny! Too bad this place had real charm but didn't deliver on every thing else.

We've made out a family trip with four people and shared two rooms in this hotel. Coming with a large car is no problem. The very helpful hotel staff will park your vehicle for you and this gives you peace of mind. The narrow streets in San Miguel de Allende can be quiet tricky for inexperienced drivers. After checking in you will access your room through the most beautiful courtyard I have ever seen. The famous San Miguel Cathedral is right next to it, which makes little excursions to the city center very easy. The courtyard consists of a little swimming pool (if you come in October be aware of the little ripe fruits falling from the tree into the pool), lots of trees, seating arrangements, lays and an outside bar with very kind waiters. The wifi in your room or at the pool is strong enough to do the most things on your smart devices. At night time the garden looks like a fairy place with all the little lights and you can shoot the most amazing photos from San Miguel Cathedral tower. My wife and I fell in love with this little treasure and we sure will come back. Just tell the reception 10 minutes before you leave to bring the car and you can enter your vehicle right at the doorstep. Living for a couple of years in Mexico and visited some other hotels in San Miguel de Allende, I can say for myself that the Coqueta Hotel Botique is our absolute favorite.

Hotel is perfectly located one block from the main attractions in SMA. Our room was spacious and wonderful decorated! The patio / garden is very relaxing! Service was great everyone very helpful. The only thing is they do not have breakfast but you are half a block from all the restaurants you need! Highly recommend!

Great location and service! The rooms are ok, but they need to be upgraded so that it could be great. The hotel is very nice and has very good personnel, they solved everything we needed. The price is good for the excelente location it has.

This is the perfect way to live the San Miguel experience. The hotel is very typical of the town and culture. The staff is very friendly and service is great. We enjoyed the rooms and the pool. They kept our luggage in a safe place until we were able to check in. We arrived too early to do so. I will definitely stay at Coqueta in my next visit to beautiful San Miguel. Special thanks to Javier!!!

The hotel is typical for San Miguel, small and beautiful! It is literally on the same block as the cathedral, just on the opposite side. The only negatives where the ringing of the bells at the churches... being so close you can't get away from it, and also the showers drain super slow. But it is a great location with easy access to everything from any direction. You only need to go around the block to be at the plaza. And any street you take leads to a fun restaurant or shop. The staff at the hotel was very helpful. They offer valet and where always ready to take our car when we arrived. You must offer a 20 minute notice when you need the car. (No parking nearby.) The garden is stunning with the decorations and the views. The bar was never open while we were there, but it wasn't needed. The room was large, 2 beds and a couch/seating area. We had a large door-type balcony that offered nice views of the street. We even saw 5 wedding processions down the street on Saturday afternoon. The weather was perfect, but warm during the day, and although there is no air conditioning, it's not bad. They have large fans in your room you can use, but it does cool down at night. Another thing, the doors close each night about 11. Not like big city hotels where you can come at all hours, so if you'll be out late, verify with hotel about getting in. It was a perfect stay. Again, these are older type hotels, not the newest amenities but typical for San Miguel. Location is key as it is in the heart of the city. They offer coffee in the lobby in the mornings (not the greatest ) and fresh sweet breads. Definitely enjoyed our stay here. This picture was in the courtyard of the hotel.

My boyfriend and I liked this hotel for what we were using it for. We were in San Miguel for two days and wanted to see it all so we really had not spent much time in the hotel. The staff seemed eager to help us and were very pleasant! I had a minor health issue that kept us from getting to the hotel on the Sunday and they let us rebook free of charge the following night instead. I wouldn't say the room was glamorous but it served its purpose and it was quaint and had an old Spanish vibe which I like! I would recommend this hotel to those on a low budget who want to see the main downtown and are able to walk place to place! I do agree it took long for them to retrieve our car when we checked out which had us wondering where the parking lot was located but we really had no other issues!

First the pluses: Our room had a balcony that overlooked their back garden and pool and had a view of the city beyond. The king-sized bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The location is just a block from the main plaza of the town, so sights, shopping and restaurants are nearby. Now the minuses: Several of my comments here don't apply if you arrive by taxi or on foot. But if you bring a car, you pull up to the entrance on a very narrow, steep street. It took several minutes to get someone to come out and help us with our luggage (while cars are weaving around you, honking). Then it was explained they needed to take the car to their parking area. On some booking sites it says the parking is on-site, and others it says it is nearby. Both are wrong. It is 8 blocks away. Plus, when we said we wanted to get something from our car, we got bad directions and finally discovered the car was in a parking area that has no name or identification. I was lucky to have spotted our car while we were walking by. The same steep road mentioned above may be an issue for anyone with difficulty walking or climbing hills. Also some rooms are up two flights of stairs. If you are sensitive to noise, be aware that you are half a block from a church with loud bells that ring until 10 or 11 pm, and resume at 6:00 am. Also, we asked for an extra room key which they didn't have. We asked about the propane fireplace in the room and were told they needed to light it. On a cool evening we did ask for that and discovered it put out almost no heat. We also discovered the room had no extra blankets which we had to ask for. Fortunately there was a small portable electric heater in the bathroom, and it did work well. There is a nice looking coffee maker in the room with a booklet of instructions. When we tried to make coffee we discovered there were no supplies and were told the coffee makers are no longer usable (and they are in the rooms why?). We were told there was coffee in the lobby, but when we got coffee from the large urn that was billowing steam, the coffee was nearly cold. I struggled between a two and three star rating, but we will seek another hotel on our next visit!
