We booked the City Express at a busy time when every hotel in Guanajuato was sold out and we settled for accommodation nearby. The rooms were comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. We had a challenge contacting room service and our simple order was not quite right. However, the breakfast was one of the best encountered after staying at many “breakfast included”Express hotel and motels. Overall City Express was great value.
The rooms and showers are very clean. Internet is great. Breakfast area is large but always crowed. Food selection is very good for this price range. Parking is a problem, especially if they have events on the property. Highway access is easy. It is not a quite room/hotel. Elevator bell noise, highway noise and railroad noise are easy to hear. If you need a quite place they may not be for you. Staff is good and helpful. There is not a restaurant on property and none within walking distance.
It was a good trip the service was excellent and certainly left me satisfied. The price was a great value and the location was right at the exit of the highway which made it very convenient. We will be back soon. Thank you!
Front desk was friendly and attentive. Minuets away from BJX airport. Snacks and refreshments available for guests in the lobby. Rates were very reasonable. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. No restaurant, only room service. Menu was not the best but had enough to find something to satisfy your hunger. Shuttle service available BUT it begins and 8am, my flight was at 6:30am so I had to pay for a cab.
They never cleaned the room and the breakfast is nasty. The front desk manager never answer the complains. The only food that you can trust is the fruit. Coffee is bad. This hotel can't handle big groups or the full rooms. People that work here they aren't kind.
this is a nice hotel, the minute you enter the hotel, you can see and smell how clean it is. Nice environment. The only problem was, that there was not enough food at breakfast. Nice location, very close to the airport.
Thought I would give City Express a try since I saw them in Cabo San Lucas while vacationing there. Things that bothered me compared to all other hotels I stayed at in San Miguel Allende, Guanajuato, Celaya, and my fav Dolores Hidalgo. Checked in and reviewed the Guest Services book in room for room service, as this hotel is not near any restaurants, There is NO Room service as promoted by them. You here by taxi from airport- you got a problem. Requested a single room (2 people) expecting a standard room with 1 bed- Room so small can barely move around. Can not open windows for ventilation and curtains open top-to-bottom which is difficult to get light unless all the way open. The exchange rate for dollars to pesos is 11-1. The rate now is 17-1, all other hotels gave us at least 16-1. 11-1 they are making 50% on your exchange. Sufficient bottled water usually in rooms and more if ask. Here- 1 tiny 300ml bottle..for 2 people with an attached notice stating you can purchase more for 12 pesos, at their rate.. that is $1.20 for a tiny bottle of water !! Smokers -forget it- a small 10'x10' area in back of building next to freeway. Door does not close without slamming. There is an ice machine but no containers to use (Trash can). Rented economy VW - spaces so small you can not open doors without hitting car next to it. Parked away from front area cause did not want to pay rental agency for door dings. Trash cans in parking spots in front of building were completely full, carpets rolling in halls. Shower head with half the plastic "nipples" gone, spraying all over, no wash clothes, Price was 980 pesos.. at 11 to 1, that is almost $90. More than we paid for 2 room suites on this trip. $35 more dollars than the exclusive "Benito Juarez Suite" 3-room over looking the plaza with 3 balconies, refer, etc and restaurant. City "Express" well it's Pony "Express" for me tomorrow for different hotel. Should have looked here at Trip Advisor. It is rated 7 out of 7.
Internet was not working. We would have preferred to be given a choice on which floor to stay. Overall it was perfect for what we needed. An overnight stay near the BJX airport for an early morning flight out.
we went there due to a show. this hotel has all you need - not more but not less. clean rooms, free WiFi (slow), reasonable TV programs, excellent and friendly service and a nice breakfast. all that for 60$ in show times....
This hotel is perfect if you are on your way to leon or Aguascalientes or Zacatecas and need a nice place to rest for a night. Near BJX airport and check in and parking is convenient. Nice place to spend the night with my wife and kids. Nothing to do around the hotel but in a great place on the road before arriving leon on the way to the north.
