Towneplace Suites in Greenville, SC was such a welcome sight after 2 days of traveling. Check in was fast and easy with a very friendly staff. The rooms are very clean and bigger than I expected. The property is very close to the Haywood wall and many great restaurants. The pool was clean and the morning complimentary breakfast had a lot to choose from. Highly recommend the place!
Everything is a bit run down. Room wasn't especially clean, beds were small (somewhere between a queen and twin). I could hear the people in the adjacent rooms, so not a particularly quiet place. The people who worked there were really nice, especially the gentleman who did the breakfasts (although the hard boiled eggs had gone bad). I wouldn't stay again.
Needed a place to stay overnight. I've always been pleased with Towneplace Suites so I booked this location. Again, I came away impressed. I love having an apartment with hotel amenities. My apartment was considered a studio, which was funny to me because there was plenty of room for the couch, desk area, full kitchen and of course, a very comfortable and large bed. The biggest thing I look for is cleanliness. Though cleaning suites has to be a lot more work for housekeeping, they did a terrific job. Having given up fast food years ago, it's great to have a full kitchen when traveling. Also, even though my room was on the first floor, it was very quiet. The most difficult part of check in was staying out of the complimentary cookies. Other than that, check in was quick & easy. Breakfast was kept well stocked and again, clean. The staff was attentive throughout. The breakfast room isn't huge, but there's more seating outside the area if needed. The workout room has an elliptical and treadmill that are both up to date. The room also has a rack of dumbbells and a bench so you can do some strength training. It's a small area but laid out well so I was able to get in a good workout. If you're staying for a few days, the location couldn't be better. The hotel is in the middle of shopping, restaurants and grocery stores. Whether I'm just passing through again or staying longer, this is the spot I'll stay next time I'm in Greenville.
I stayed here on a recent two-day business trip to Greenville. The room was small but clean in the kitchen was nicely set up. The only issues I had where that the bed was a little hard, and that there was almost no tissue in the bathroom. On Thursday night they had catered barbecue and beer and wine for guests from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. I thought that was very nice. This hotel is very close to the mall. There is a Cheesecake Factory and several other nice places to eat in the area.
First the room: Queen bed + full size pull out couch. A little shoving around the pack and play also fit easily (the footstool/ottoman fits under the desk, fyi). Clean, reasonably up to date. Small kitchenette contains 10 cup coffeemaker (basket filter), dishwasher, apartment size fridge/freezer, small electric range/stove, plates/bowls/flatware for four, and a small assortment of pots, pans, utensils. Like so many similar places they need an ice cream scoop or large metal spoon appropriate for ice cream. Closet shelves made it easy to stay somewhat organized. only cons: 1. no nightlight level lighting (common complaint for hotels when traveling with children) 2. didn't leave any spare TP. Quickly corrected by walking to front desk, with their apologies. We would definitely stay here again.
I was visiting the Greenville area on my way to Atlanta and I decided to stay at Towneplace Suites. Towneplace is a nice clean hotel at a good price. My room was quite roomy. Being from NYC, I've seen apartments that are significantly smaller. The room had desk, couch, and a kitchen area. Complete with a fridge, silverware, dishwasher, and stove. Luckily I didn't need to make breakfast because the hotel provides free breakfast from 6-9 in the morning. I'm on a low carb diet so I figured this would be a continental breakfast with nothing that I would want to eat. I was wrong. They had all you can eat, fried eggs, sausage, and hard boiled eggs. That saved me a trip to the Waffle House. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a nice place to stay in Greenville and you don't want to spend too much.
I was traveling for comedy when I stayed at TownePlace Suites Greenville Haywood Mall last week, and I really enjoyed my stay. The lobby and front desk area struck me when I walked in -- the office's design was bright, fun and sunny, with a map-with-pushpin design on the wall. Shaniqua made short work of my check-in, and she was friendly and efficient throughout. This room was really nice. I was really impressed with the floor plan -- they offered a lot for one room, and the layout presented it without its seem cramped. The room had a sophisticated, spacious, contemporary desk with return and plenty of power and a walk-in kitchen with a large refrigerator and full coffee pot (vs. the one-cup variety you see in most rooms). One of my pet peeves is moving furniture to get to outlets, so I was happy to see easy-to-access power on the lamps over each night stand and the desk. The mattress was perfect, at least for me -- firm, but not a rock pile. A nice touch for me was the bag of popcorn with a friendly, hand-written note, since I wasn't able to take advantage of the hotel's complimentary breakfast. Both kitchen and bathroom sported granite counters. Overall a great stay. Can't wait to see these folks again!
A simple suite hotel, tucked quietly behind a commercial district. Not fancy, but everything was spotlessly cleaned, and all facilities worked. Staff was very friendly. If we need a motel in Greenville again, we will be back.
Very pet friendly hotel. Typical breakfast meal included. Rooms are comfortable and clean with a full size refrigerator and stove. Makes staying for several days very reasonable with the ability to cook in room. Comes with all necessary dishes, pots, pans etc...
We spent 1 night at this Towneplace Suites and were impressed. Our room was spacious, super clean and did not have that "hotel smell" you come to expect when you travel. The room furnishings had recently been updated and were comfortable and welcoming. The night desk staff were friendly and helpful during check-in and when I had some local area questions. The morning staff were just as friendly and personable. The hotel was nearly full, but overnight it was quiet and peaceful. We have stayed in multiple hotels in the Greenville/Spartanburg area and this is one of the best. It is about a 30 minutes drive to Spartanburg Regional Hospital, but it was an easy drive and I do not mind the drive for a comfortable hotel. We will stay again.
