Nasty, run down, over priced hotel. Brown stuff wiped all over the comforter. Sent my Fiancé to tell someone and a woman came in to get the comforter and once she picked it up I noticed hair all over the sheets. She said what color is it? If it's brown it's Maria's hair. Food all under and beside the bed which means they never vacuumed the carpet. Shower head is completely dirty and mold all over it and the corners of the shower. Bathroom floor is nasty and looks like it hasn't been swept or mopped. Fake tile in the shower is actually peeling from the wall which shows a gap between the wall and the tile. Dirty smell throughout the entire room. The mattress spring is completely yellow. They put a skirt on it but it barely fits so you can see the entire dirty spring. In the kitchen area, the fake granite counter top is broken into two pieces and slanted off the wall. Too scared to look in the refrigerator or even use the kitchen. So uncomfortable and definitely does not reflect what a 3-star hotel should feel or look like. Definitely would never recommend this hotel or stay here again.
The hotel staff are great. The hotel is clean and the outdoor kitchen was wonderful. The queen suite was kinda small though. The internet is not fast enough to stream movies...I enjoyed the breakfast I the morning too. It is very convenient to get to any of the places on Woodruff Rd. I hope they upgrade their internet because that will give them a 5.
We thoroughly enjoyed most aspects of our stay here. We didn't try breakfast as we had an early flight from GSP but thought the place and lived up to our expectations. The suite was excellent and we were surprised by how many family groups were staying here, rather than the business travelers that normally dominate these places. They serve an excellent complementary 2 hour dinner and drinks service and the menu items seem to be selected so that they can be taken back to your suite and warmed up in the microwave. It was pizza and salad on the night we stayed and we made a good decision to plate it up early, ready to eat later in our room. It was only when I watched a big guy, who I earlier noted had failed to wash his hands before leaving the restrooms, manhandling slices of pizza with his (unwashed) bare hands that we began to notice how many other people did the same thing; adults and kids. Implements are provided for people to help themselves with but a surprising number of our fellow guests just ignored them. The other noticeable problem with this free-for-all buffet was how many people piled up slices onto their plates, only to leave most of it for the cleaning staff to move. So, when Staybridge Suites asked me to write a review on my stay, I pointed out how a food server would have been a useful asset, which was my one criticism. They rejected my review for having 'inappropriate content'. Apologies guys, if you had pointed out that you wanted 100% non-critical reviews, rather than honest feedback, I might have known better! So, starting out with a five point maximum score, lose one point for a very appropriate food hygiene issue and a second point for trying to hide it.
The property is very clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and caring. The rooms are huge and very clean. Nightly meals available for free from 5:30 to 7:30, including free wine and beer. Great pool and outdoor sitting areas. Excellent fitness center and library. Even their pantry shop is much better than most. I highly recommend this location! Note, we are Spire members, meaning we travel more than 75 nights per year.
Had there been a notch between Very Good and Excellent, I would have put this property there, since not much leaped out as remarkable about it. But it checks all the important boxes -- clean, comfortable, great beds, above-average food and social hour, accommodating staff, quiet (no annoying music over breakfast!), convenient to town but far enough removed to avoid the parking hassles. This weekend, for instance, most of Main Street there is entirely CLOSED for some festival. We would have preferred standard-size carts instead of those useless (to people with lots of luggage) little three-wheel zippy models*, and of course the hotel supplies guests with the standard Staybridge-style towels and washcloths, which have the consistency of scratchy bath mats. No, check that: the bath mats are softer. So bring a soft towel if you check in here (or at any Staybridge). *2 tips to others who also detest the zip carts, out the back of which bags routinely fall and which have almost no place to hang more than a travel bag: 1. buy some sturdy metal, s-shaped garden hooks online. On ANY kind of cart, hanging a few of those will exponentially increase your carrying capacity. (But remember not to leave them there when you finish). 2. And to keep stuff from falling out the bottom or the back, keep a FedEx type box, folded, in your trunk and lay it on the zippy cart. You can use another one or one of your bigger items to block the back opening. Curses to the person who thought airport carts that hold maybe two items would be spiffy for hotels. The suites are cozy rather than spacious at this hotel, but that suited us fine. A good choice if you're in this area.
This hotel is a perfect accommodation! The location is perfect...just off of I-85/I-385 with awesome restaurants and shopping nearby. The free breakfast is delicious and though I didn't use them, their office set ups for guests looked very nice too. Our room was impeccable with inviting crisp, clean linens and heavenly mattresses and pillows. My daughter prefers to bathe in a tub and I'm usually against that in a hotel, however, the cleanliness was excellent, so she enjoyed a nice soak in the tub. The staff was friendly and helpful too. We will definitely be back!
I stayed in this hotel with my teammates. We were competing at USC. Found roaches in this hotel and when we brought it to their attention they said "welcome to South Carolina" not acceptable! not clean..dried opened mustard packets behind the curtain. Toilet paper was not replaced without asking.
Stayed here this past weekend when the NCAA basketball tournament was in town and could not have been more happy with the hotel. Super clean rooms, comfortable beds, and the suites were HUGE!!! separate bedroom from the sitting and kitchen area and I have honestly lived in studio apartments smaller than this!!! As well, I have stayed at a lot of hotels with free breakfasts in my time but this one is easily the best. It was like having a buffet breakfast at a normal restaurant. Plus, super nice staff as well. Obviously it is not downtown but the drive or uber ride was not too bad, and yes, this is not the Ritz Carleton, but for the price you get WAY more than you pay for.
"Staybridge Suites" hotel is situated in outskirt of the town it is very near to shopping centers and eateries. The appearance of the hotel is decent and reception was helpful. I asked for a room on first floor. In the lobby, there was an uncomfortable smell, may be due to pets. Room was very decent and comfortable for long stay. Breakfast provided is appreciable for a lot of varieties. Dinner in hotel has limited options but fine. For Indian food, nearby 'Saffron' restaurant is the best which serves true and authentic Indian cuisines. Overall my stay here was comfortable.
We are placed here by my employer for a month as we are just moving. This place makes settling in very easy. It is pet friendly, has a small kitchen and enough room to store our plenty suitcases. The janitor brought a dog toy on our first day and one of the front desk clerks helped us to donate the transport boxes of our dogs to the animal shelter. The staff is friendly, breakfast is free and there are 3 free dinners included. The place is close to a lot of shopping possibilities and supermarkets as well as a lot of dining places.
