Both times I have stayed here, the accommodations have been a great value. Each time I was able to get a clean room at a great price. The only issues with this place would be the lack of parking (I parked next door at Taco Bell and had a 30 second walk) and the broken down button on the third floor elevator.
I enjoyed my stay there rooms were clean and the worker there are very friendly. Will be returning in August for another month stay hope to see everyone that was so nice and cheerful doing my stay there.
All the staff are great. Top notch folks. Very helpful in all that they do. Room is very nice with the king or king suite. one mile from major hospital and less than 1/2 mile from downtown. Rooms are very clean and well kept.
The rooms are spacious and the air conditioning is great but you have to remember that the thermostat is on the wall which they will remind you of before u check in. The staff is one of the friendliest that i have seen at a hotel even better than most five star hotels. U can tell that this hotel is ran properly and the manager has high standers, She is very helpful and nicest mangers i have ever met. I give the hotel a 9 out of 10
I had a confirmed reservation and when I arrived at midnight was informed they wouldn't honor it and they were overbooked. As someone who travels 50 or more nights per year I will go out of my way never to stay at a Quality Inn again. How in the world can they allow hotels to be overbooked?
the whole hotel smelled of smoke. We were lectured about not smoking when we checked in...told it would be $250 if we smoked in the room. No problem, we don't smoke. We had made the reservation for two nights but only stayed one. The elevator smelled like someone had shut the door and smoked an entire cigar. Only in our room did we not smell it, and in the bathroom it came in through the vents. We never saw someone smoking in the building, but they were smoking about 10 feet from the front entrance. At breakfast the man "attending" the food bar began shutting things down 15 minutes before the line was supposed to close and did not restock anything after that, even though there were about 15 people still in the room. Coffee dispenser was goofy, worked fine for one person, then only gave a short drizzle for the next. Decent breakfast food, but I am glad I got there 30 minutes before closing, as the food ran out and was not replaced. Workers didn't smile or greet you as they passed in the hall, etc.
This hotel is conveniently located to the downtown attractions in Greenville. You can tell it has gotten a lot of use due to the age and condition of the facility. Overall the place is average at best and that would be on a good day. The staff is great and you can tell that they make customer service a priority. The positives of my review stop there. It's definitely not the staff's fault regarding the shortcomings of the facility. Parking is limited, if you go out and return late you'll have to park at the taco bell next door. Doors leading to the stairwells do not close properly and will slam unless you hold the door and ease it to a close. They are heavy gauge metal and bang against the door jamb. Some guests rise and shine and get out early so starting at 6am you'll start to hear them when the door starts banging. If you're in a room close to them you can forget sleeping in. My room #205, is a sizable room with a king bed and sofa. Well used but clean, so I have no complaints there. Biggest concern was when I got back to my room around midnight and saw a dark spot on the ceiling above the bed. On close inspection it turned out to be a cockroach at least 2" long. After taking photographs of it before and after it's demise I called the front desk and told Mike that I was bringing it down for him to give to his manager in the morning. Of course there were no other rooms available so I slept with the lights on waking up frequently to make sure I saw no others. At checkout I asked what was going to happen and was told the information was forwarded to the "Owner" who would decide. The front desk staff was very apologetic as you can imagine but powerless with a resolution. I verified they had my contact info and was reassured the hotel doesn't have issues like that. Well, they do now because where there is one cockroach there are many. It's been two days now and I have yet to hear anything. If I was the owner I would put this issue at the top of my list. It's been two days and I have yet to hear anything. Sorry if I added more info than necessary but I did for two reasons. There are some decent positives to the hotel itself and the staff is very courteous and outgoing. My best advice is don't stay there but if you do bring a bait trap for cockroaches.
My title says it all. Convenient to downtown Greenville (drive or Uber), safe; friendly staff. I called the day before to request early check-in at noon so our boys could nap, and they had no problem accommodating us. Our room was huge! - they probably could've fit a third queen bed in there, though bathroom was tiny. A little worn/rundown in places but mostly clean. Beds were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was the usual hotel chain offerings but very well-stocked and tasty. We thought our AC unit was broken and chose to go without rather than go through the hassle of moving rooms; however, upon checkout the person at the desk told us that we were supposed to use a newer unit on the wall (didn't see it) rather than the nonworking unit under the window...would've been nice to be told this at check-in! Overall, our family of 4 enjoyed our stay.
We were in Greenville for a wedding and arrived at 1 p.m. on a Friday and left by 9 a.m. on Saturday. We were two hours earlier than the announced check-in time, but were graciously greeted and made comfortable while they checked to discover if our two rooms were clean and available at that time. We were in our rooms by 1:15. Since we were going to be in town such a short time, we did not want to invest in luxury accomodations, but wanted something clean, fresh, and comfortable. Choice hotels have become our "choice" in recent years, and this Quality Inn did not disappoint us. Each room was equipped with a microwave and refrigerator, comfy chair and hassock. The king size bed had comfortable linens and numerous pillows. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very clean. Breakfast on Saturday morning offered hot foods as well as pastries and fruit. To me, that all adds up to the luxury accomodations without the luxury price. The wedding we attended was at The Old Cigar Factory, and this inn was within a five minute drive of that venue. It was easy to navigate between those two locations even with a crowd driving the same route to get to a nearby baseball game. The only change I would make if I visited again would to ask for a room on the top floor since there was a lot of noise from children running on the floor above us. We did not complain to the front desk, so I can't say how they would have handled the problem. By midnight the noise had ceased. If in Greenville again, which is a real possibility, I would not hesitate to check into this hotel.
Bottom line: Great price for the near West End location, but you pay for it in sleep as everything inside the hotel, including the clientele, is very loud all the time. This Quality Inn sits just about a half mile out of the beautiful West End area of Greenville. We chose the hotel due to that location and our intent to catch a baseball game at Fluor field. The hotel check in was a bit harsh as the entire process was nothing but a collection of "we'll charge you x dollars for this and y dollars for that" which suggested a certain clientele, and it turned out that was no coincidence. Outside of that experience, we found the staff to be very helpful and personable. When we got to our room we were stunned by the size, they could have easily put two king beds and some more furniture in there. The beds were great, the TV passable, and the rest of the furniture is in need of replacement. We hadn't even fully moved into the room when we got the first smell of pot on our hall. To the hotels credit, we reported it and the smell was dealt with quickly. Later that night, the smell returned along with a group of young men running up and down the stairs and banging doors which continued until well into the morning hours. There was never any indication of any hotel staff doing anything about that and I hold the hotel at least partially to blame since not a single thing in the hotel had any noise deadening elements at all. All doors shut quickly unless you stopped them and banged shut at full speed, some doors stuck and made horrible grinding noises when opening or closing.
