Days Inn Greenville2.0 out of 5.0

The room and bathroom were dirty. There were bugs. The refridgerator did not work. I paid more for this room than I did for a stay the next night at a beautiful Comfort Inn.
Room was clean and appropriate. Night clerk was kind and thoughtful. AM breakfast was fresh and area was clean and well kept. Would stay there again and recommend to others.
We were traveling to Tennessee and stopped to sleep one night passing through. Should slept in the car instead! It was 1:30AM so we were exhausted. First the door wouldn't open so we had to go back to the office and she had to unlock it with a master key. I needed a shower and the bath tub was so black and funky I actually put a bath towel in the tub to shower so my feet were not touching it. Carpets were not clean. Then at 3:30AM the AC started making such loud noises I had to video it to show the front desk. We couldn't check out in the am fast enough. When I told the front desk and let her hear the AC her response was they were just cleaned. ?? what does that even mean. She have us a whole $10.00 off the room. The room was $83.00. Last time I will ever stop off without reading reviews online.
The biggest problem was the lack of cleanliness everything was dirty. The air-conditioner was so loud it was hard to sleep.
I'll start first with the positive-it was clean- that's it- very run down, outdated rooms- ceiling chunks coming out- i don't know if the carpet had ever been replaced - pool is deceiving in pic also-it's a very small pool- we were only ones in it (10 people) and i'm glad- couldn't have moved if anyone else had came to swim- there were several other hotels around that looked more up-to-date-wish i had picked one of those- all in all Greenville was just not a place i would recommend staying over at- roads were confusing- not a very good selection of restaurants - i think i'll pick a different overnight place to stay on way to beach next year
The room had some patchwork in the walls, the wall paper was peeling. It was clean as you would expect, but the faucet in the shower leaked and was a bit of a noise at night. Overall it was fine - the breakfast left me a little wanting, but I didn't expect it to be anything more than it was. The staff was awesome. It is a Days Inn - within a budget and within an acceptable parameters of expectation. It was a bed to sleep on and some coffee to drink in the morning. The room smelled clean (no smoking). Just what you expect.
The attendant at the front desk that night was awesome. It was late n she was very helpful with our reservation that couldn't be found. The room was another story. The air barely worked n the room had a horrible odor to it. The bed was like sleeping on the ground.
The room was ready for the wrecking ball! The whole room was wallpapered and the wallpaper was pieced together and mismatched. It also was peeling off the walls. The A/C unit was rusty and you could not read the settings. There was bugs in the room-mainly in the bathroom. The television picture was real snowy and hard to see (even in the "lounge" area). I would avoid this Days Inn if I were you. Waffles and toast were the breakfast. No meat, no eggs. It wasn't worth reporting due to the receipt stating "no refunds".
I've been staying here regularly for over 10 years and have always been welcomed and comfortable.
Management did not let me park my passenger vehicle and trailer with the rest of my family. I had to park in truck parking. I had to get up periodically throughout the night to check my rig. Needless to say, not the best night's sleep.
