Check-in was quick- staff extremely pleasant and friendly @ check-in & throughout our stay. We had breakfast in hotel each morning- a group of extremely courteous, helpful, & pleasant (happy & smiling) staff each morning- food was very good. We ate a couple of evening meals there as well - same experience as breakfast - We had 2 twin beds- shower/tub (shower had a lot of water pressure). Room was clean- cleaning staff friendly and kept our room well maintained. Fast internet and easy connection. Hotel is in a great location - Theatre Royal Glasgow is w/in 10 minutes & movie theatre across the street, restaurants & shopping (City Centre) in easy walking distance. Taxi service - easy (front desk did this for us) & taxi pulled up at the front door. Bus station < 5 minutes and Queen Street train station a short walk (about 10-12 min); Glasgow Central train station about (15 min). We took taxi from Glasgow Airport - Overall, you cannot go wrong staying at this hotel. Note: Edinburgh is just a one-hour train trip away & several day trips are easily accessed from the Glasgow train stations- inexpensive way to see a beautiful country!, Wish we had more time to spend here.
The room was very nice, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was lovely. The walk from Queen Street Station seemed far on the way there, probably because it was uphill and it was raining, but it really is a short walk as long as you know where you're going. Breakfast is included in the rate, but I unfortunately had to leave before it was served, so I cannot comment on how good it was. I did not personally care for the location. I have stayed in Glasgow before and the area of this hotel wasn't what I was looking for. There is plenty of shopping on Buchanan Street and a few restaurants nearby, but there are not many bars in the area. Everyone recommended a late-night place a ways down the street, but that was really it. Other than that, the hotel was great!
Stayed for the second time at the Holiday Inn Theatre Land Glasgow. Arrived early but was pleased to still be able to get a room and not be made to wait. Room is very comfortable with secondary glazing to keep city noise out and the offer of earplugs if that isn't enough. Choice of pillows and a comfy bed. There is no bath and the shower has a seat for accessibility. The only thing which needs to be thought about is where you can put room service tray as there is no obvious surface so you are left juggling.
Not much requirement to say more. Excellent location, staff, room, cleanliness, food and price. Ideal for theatres. No surprise there given the name of the location. Multiplex cinema over the road. Special mention to our cleaner who had our room looking sparkling everyday and was always ready with a happy " good morning".
Stuart was so helpful,we had a lovely lunch with cocktails . He was very knowledgeable and guided us to our best choices. Lunch off the light bite menu kept s going until dinner. We will definitely be back. well done Stuart
There are good things. It's a great location. Helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Room was fine. But we had an executive room. I always ask for a room that does not have a door ajoining it to the next. Sorry but I don't want to hear everything that goes on next door. Apparently all nearly all executive rooms are ajoining. So wouldn't recommend it for that reason.
Decent closet, though odd that the hangers face you. No drawers but some shelves. Nice USB ports next to the bed. Heated towel bars. Thank goodness: a bathtub and extra space for your stuff in the bathroom. Great mattress, and a choice of pillows. Nice and new place with a clean feel. Nice staff at the desk and in the bar.
City centre location. Building looks old, could benefit from minor renovations. Room sizes average but very well equipped. Wi Fi connection poor. Efficient, helpful and willing to help staff. Scottish breakfast is excellent with an excellent variety of foods and beverages to choose from. Parking available, across the road, 12 pounds sterling flat rate, per 24 hours. Would definitely recommend this hotel for businessmen rather than leisure travellers.
Spent one night here while attending football at Hampden and concert at the SSE Hydro. Central location is ideal for getting around the city. Park you car in the multi-storey car park across the road. There is a flat rate of £12 per day/night for guests. Get the hotel to stamp your ticket when you check out. Room was clean and fresh. Beds comfy, with choice of firm or soft pillows. But highlight was the breakfast. Served downstair, buffet style, which can sometimes be a problem if the foods has been sitting for ages under a heat lamp. The bacon was thick, succulent and tasty. Scrambled eggs were beautifully firm and creamy and the sausages were juicy and extremely tasty. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Staff at reception on arrival and departure were helpful and polite, as were breakfast staff. There is free wi-fi in the hotel. The password is issued with your room key. Great stay in a great hotel.
We needed a convenient location to catch an early Bus. Literally step out of the hotel and across the street to the Buchannan Bus Station. Very small room, like a closet, but clean and secure. We only chose this hotel for the location. In house restaurant which was decent. Free wifi.
