We had a brilliant experience with the staff and service top class. A great welcome on arrival and given a lovely room with stunning view over the river Clyde. We were made welcome by all staff throughout our visit with Laurelle The breakfast was a very positive experience, plenty room, tasty menu and a chilled atmosphere. This is a real change to many breakfast experiences in other hotels. We will definitely return and hope management keep up the great work in running a busy modern hotel with top class staff service.
Very comfortable and in a good location Helpful staff They were happy to change a room which was unsuitable. Choice of twin and double beds and bath/shower The room was large and had a safe, Minibar and tea/coffee making facilities
The Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow "Satisfaction Promise" says, "A promise so good, we guarantee it". Yes, sure. One is guaranteed to be disappointed. I have totally lost my confidence and trust in the Hilton brand. Two days ago it was Hilton Blackpool. Yesterday it was Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow City Centre. An additional bed was set up in our room, which was not requested. It took up much of the space in the room. I made a request at the front desk at 7:40 pm for it to be removed. 50 minutes later at 8:30 pm nothing had happened. I went down to the front desk again in person to check, because nobody answered the phone. While the clerk then sent somebody to have the bed removed, she was most defensive and gave all sorts of excuses for not having done anything before then. I would have suspected that if I had not gone to the front desk again, the bed would still be sitting there now. You call this Satisfaction Promise? Making empty promises is worse than not making any promise at all. PS: The name of the hotel is a misnomer. It is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by construction sites. It is definitely not Glasgow City Centre.
Great hotel will Deffo stay again if the UFC returns. Perfect location for anything going on at the Hydro, just a 1 min walk from the hotel. Large car park right next to the hotel priced at £5 for 24 hours. The breakfast was good quality, never ate here for lunch or dinner. Drinks are £4.50 for a beer in the restaurant. You get a little fridge on the room you can put your own snacks and drinks inside which was good. Staff were all great. Can't complain about anything at all :-)
The hotel is about 1.5km from the city center - walk along the river to the city center is very nice and breeze Its located on the Clyde River -no a very big hotel - rooms are good althought a little crumpled for a triple sharing room The Staff is helpful and polite The restaurant was being renovated - so the place was again crumpled with the breakfast menu no as elaborate as in the other hotels which we stayed in during our visit to UK & Scotland
While not quite in the city center, it was perfectly located withing walking distance. The room was clean, modern, and best of all had a great river view. The bar/restaurant had good offerings and the breakfast buffet was excellent. But most importantly the staff was beyond helpful and polite. I will stay here again. Thanks for a great stay.
Hotel was recently renovated. Check in at reception was easy and efficient, clerk was very friendly/helpful even gave us two coupons for drinks at the bar. Our room was on the forth floor overlooking the river nice view. Room was clean decent size, bath had the best shower so far on this trip. Unusual but the room also had good air conditioning. Wifi was free and worked good in the room. Had a nice dinner in the Recess Restaurant, atmosphere modern overlooking the river. Service friendly. Breakfast was included with a hot buffet, variety of pastry, cold meat, cheese, fruit, cereal or you can order such items as omelettes from a small menu. There is a large free hotel parking lot on the side of the hotel.
My wife booked this hotel for after a gig at the hydro. It is perfectly located, less than a 2 minute walk with plenty of restaurants and places for a drink before and after if the restaurant on site isn't for you. I found it odd that guests are required to pay to park in the hotel car park. Don't get me wrong, £5 for 24 hours isn't bad, but you'd think it would be included with the room. The room was very comfortable, big comfy bed, but the extract in the bathroom was either broken or non existent which made for a very smoky shower!
There was a dump smell in the room - I presume likely due to the poorly designed shower that leaked everywhere, including the carpet in the hallway. Toilet lacked basic amenities - i.e. toilet brush. Room was very noisy - it appeared like A/C or other equipment was making a vibrating noise all night long. There was no such a noise outside the building. Couldn't even report the issues as the phone in my room wasn't working.
Clean, and well positioned for SECC, great view of the Clyde river from floor 4. Staff very friendly and seemed happy to work there which was refreshing! Food good, although they did run out of chips one evening! not end of the world and the head of dept didn't charge for an alternative meal I had. Rooms large and clean with all facilities you would expect. WIFI fine too. Parking in open car park inc. but supposed to be £5.00 per day.
