We were very satisfied of our stay at this hotel. The standard is really good and the location is perfect - right in the center of the city. The hotel also offers parking possibility (underground), which is very helpful in Grenada. It is extremely difficult to park in the town. The service was also completely satisfying.
Tricky to find by car but you have to know it's in the restricted zone for vehicles so when you reach the bollards in the road you press a button on control box by the side of the street say where your going eg hotel Monjas and the bollards go down to let you enter . The garage at the hotel is very tight if you have a large vehicle, ours was fine just take your time on the sharp bends. Reception are efficient and helpful. The rooms are modern but our flooring was badly fitted and had big cracks between the planking, this was awkward when walking in bear feet. The other problem is they have large groups staying and this time they were young kids roaming around making noise and looking bored !!! Also they were up early to start their activities. Breakfast was in the cafe next door which was a basic continental variety! ! The main draw for this hotel is its proximity to all the main attractions. You can walk to all the main ones and it's surrounded by tapas and restaurants plenty of choice.
Having looked at the reviews that say the location is a nightmare to drive to we would disagree, but accept it was tricky. However by following the driving instructions given out by the hotel on booking, we managed (with only one little hiccup) to find it straight away. It does feel odd travelling down narrow cobbled streets filled with pedestrians, however trust the directions and you will be fine. Parking, once at the hotel, is also quite an event, you have to go down a corkscrew slope/entrance/tunnel to access the underground parking, but we did it and are not especially confident drivers. Coming out seems much easier somehow! Onto the hotel itself: a fantastic location close to the Alhambra within the old town area. Its about a 20/30 minute walk uphill to reach the entrance. The Cathedral, Royal Chapel, Carrera del Daro and other landmarks all well within walking distance, St Jerome Monastery a little further afield. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping nearby - note the generous practice of many of the bars giving a small portion of food with drinks orders so you may end up eating a small sandwich/snack each time you order a beer! Hotel staff very friendly, relaxed and helpful and rooms comfortable and clean. Only weak point was the breakfast which we had to pay extra for, and didn't feel it was worth the money. Rainy whilst we were there and hotel gave out complimentary loans of brollies which was useful. Nice balcony overlooking a narrow pedestrianised street below gave it an authentic and atmospheric feel. We really enjoyed our stay with them, and felt having the car parked in the hotel car park (albeit expensive) was well worth it.
The hotel has an excellent location. It is very near the main street. The bus station and several restaurants are easy to access. The hotel also offers breakfast and the rooms are comfortable. Basement parking for guests is also available for a fee.
Do NOT go there if you have a car. Sat navs take you up nightmare wrong streets and nothing helps even if you do arrive. It was the tightest spiral underground car park I've even been in. The receptionist was too busy and too indifferent to help out. All up a narrow one way street with ridiculous amounts of traffic trying to get in and out. The all Spanish channels are barely visible on the tiny TV even though there was supposed to be satellite. The view out the window was a blank wall. Had a bath instead and had to jump out when we saw the black filth around the overflow. Disgusting.
Everything you need is here! We have only paid a little less then 60 euros for our night from Saturday to Sunday in November ('twas without breakfast though). The hotel was very easy to find and located a bit off the main street
We stayed here before going to the Alhambra. The hotel was nice and modern. The guest services allowed us to keep our car parked in the lot while we toured Alhambra. The bathroom was modern and clean. The bed was fairly comfortable. The location was in the middle of the old city.
The hotel is in a great location, with on-site parking. It had everything we needed and was clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is a restaurant and bar serving great tapas with a lively atmosphere.
We have only paid a little less then 60 euros for our night from Saturday to Sunday in November ('twas without breakfast though). The hotel was very easy to find and located a bit off the main street, which was good since there would be less noise. We were first assigned to room 203, but the lock did not react so we were given another room, 204. This was a twin room and quite spacious for the price we've paid. We have taken twin rooms before, but most oftentimes the beds were 80 cm in width, but these beds were 90cm! We had a Juliette balcony as well, but we kept the doors closed since our room was right above the hotel's restaurant and since it was weekend it was quite busy below stairs. Thank God for ear plugs! Anyway, the hotel is very well situated! Half an hour from the Alhambra (because of the climb...) and right in the centre. You can't do wrong with this hotel. ;-)
This hotel is OK for a one night stay for business men who are in town for a night or 3 or for senior citizens who want to be in yhe center and not have to walk a lot to get to all the atttactions if the center. Definitely not suited for couples who want to spend a Romantic weekend or a good vacation. The hotel does not possess rooms with a double bed. All rooms are equipped with 2 beds with 2 bed spreads... We specifically mentioned that we are a couple.on holiday and requested a room with a double bed, no one one bothered to call and inform that the whole hotel doesn't have double beds. We could have picked another hotel. Breakfast is minimal. Like I said.. not a holiday hotel but a very good business hotel in the city center.
