It is a few years since our last visit .our room was facing the shops on the melonoras prom above the front entrance and blue canopy,it was a lovely room with sunbeds on the balcony we got the sun late afternoon perfect after a busy day out we hope to get a similar position this june.we went half board and found the food great with a tremendous selection for all meals .the staff our fantastic and help you whenever you need them. Now to the pool very nice with the best jaccusi pool we have had in forty year's of traveling abroad with the added bonus of being allocated your sunbeds for your stay great to choose were you want to sit without fighting for your beds at other hotels.just hope this next holiday at the it's will be just as good ,I'm sure it will be.

This was one of the best hotels we have had the pleasure of staying in !! Excellent food staff were amazing and food and drinks were great quality i will totally be going again AMAZING the hotel was in perfect position on the beach with the best shopping bars and restaurants a short walk away

This was our third stay at IFA Faro and it didn’t disappoint! The location is the best in the area, right on the beach and a short stroll from plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and the bus station from where you can easily explore the island. On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite (for one night!) as the hotel was fully booked. Whilst enjoying the novelty of a suite it really was too big for us so being moved back to a normal room was no hardship and very professionally sorted by the staff. We always stay B&B as brekkie is gorgeous but we prefer to eat at different restaurants in the evening. The breakfast staff are attentive and eating brekkie on the terrace listening to the sound of the sea whilst sipping cava is very relaxing. I have seen some reviews from other Brits suggesting that the hotel is primarily for middle aged Germans. We are a couple of Brits in our late 40s and have always found our fellow holidaymakers at IFA Faro very friendly! Already looking forward to our next visit in September!

This hotel exceeds its four-star rating; the location is superb, the pool is very good, the rooms are spacious and well looked after. The restaurant provides a wide range of excellent food at breakfast and dinner. All staff are friendly and helpful. The only negative comment I have is that some of the gym eqipment does not work

First time staying in Maspolomas usually stay in Puerto Rico and now I know why. The hotel was in a fabulous position right on the beach and promenade. The rooms were spacious and the balconies had room for sun loungers as well as table and chairs....I don't know if all were the same as we were upgraded for free to a superior room on arrival to a corner site with sea views. Everything was clean and fresh, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was just about the best we've ever had on holiday. The bar lounge had a duet singing most nights or something similar but the idea is to go out when on holiday. Very high end shops in the resort...all designer and expensive but lovely to look at. The variety of restaurants was excellent all along the promenade and all looked to be well kept and sparkling clean. Some had live music and singers every night. The pool at the hotel allowed guests to choose their own sun loungers and keep them for the duration of their holiday...great idea. Now for the reason we will not be returning......the WIND!! Never have we experienced such a strong and biting wind on holiday. It was freezing. Although we had been told to take a jacket for evenings the intensity of the strong wind was unexpected and if you couldn't get a seat by an outdoor heater it was just not worth sitting outside. This applied during the daytime as well...if you wanted to sunbathe you had to find a corner behind a wall to get out of the wind. This is such a shame and it is the only reason we will not be returning as the hotel was very worthy of its 4stars.

Everything was beyond average. Excellent services, very good facilities, superb food. Extremely nice staff. We enjoyed very much our vacation in an inspiring environment. It is wonderful to have the wide and long beach just beside the facilities with the great opportunity to walk through the dunes of Maspalomas.

Very good standard, lovely helpful staff. Leo, in charge of the animation is just such a great person! IFA Faro is beautifully situated next to the Faro lighthouse and 25 meters from the beautiful beach of Maspalomas with sand dunes. You can walk along the beach all the way to Playa Ingles. The hotel also have a lovely pool area. We will definitely come back here next year

Just back from a weeks stay at this hotel. Absolutely stunning location right on the seafront at the beginning of the famous dunes. This is the only hotel in this area that has such a fantastic location. The hotel is cleaned meticulously every day by an army of hard working cleaners. This is one of the cleanest and most comfortable hotels we have ever stayed in. You get a sun bed reserved for you for the length of your stay so no competing with everyone every morning to bag a sun bed. This makes for a much more relaxing and calm atmosphere. Fabulous jacuzzi by the pool as well. The food is plentiful and amazing with lots of choice both at breakfast and dinner. They have a “no shorts or swimwear” policy at evening meal and this is the only hotel I have ever stayed in that actually sees this through! A thoroughly enjoyable holiday in a fantastic hotel with courteous and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall this is a very good hotel in an exceptional position right on the sea front in Melonares. We stayed for three weeks over Christmas and New Year using the hotel as a very comfortable base from which to visit locations across the island via our hire car. We had a standard room and asked on arrival about upgrades but prices were very high (1500 Euros extra for a side sea view and 2000 Euros extra for a frontal sea view, too much for us) as a consequence our standard room balcony didn't receive any sun at all and was therefore rather unusable. A bit disappointing really given the high standard room cost and that the hotel was not full. We stayed B&B and were very impressed by the standard and variety of food on offer. The best part about this hotel however is the staff group who are universally courteous and helpful. Probably the best hotel staff group we have encounterd over the years in many locations. The sunbed allocation system works well and is flexible if you wish to change location. The public areas are well maintained and attractively furnished. Watch out for the dreaded smokers who can impose themselves quite selfishly at times. There are modest, but unecessary charges for the room safe and room access to the internet. The area adjacent to the hotel is clean, well maintained and well endowed with restaurants of all kinds. You will however find it easier here to purchase a Rolex watch or Gucci handbag than a pint of milk or loaf of bread and local Canarian culture is not heavily promoted but on a positive note there is an excellent seaside boullevard with access all of the way to Melonares beach, some 2 km. If you want to experience local culture this is probably not the location for you. Overall this hotel probably deserves four and a half stars and if reviewing the staff group alone it would warrant a definite five. The external fabric of the building looks due for a lick of paint and the building is 70s/80s in style. This and the high standard room price plus the additional high charge for an upgrade make it a solid four out of five for us.

We chose this hotel for a New Year's break as it seemed to have a good location and facilities at a reasonable price. The location is great - right on the beach, next to the old lighthouse - few others have direct access to the beach. We didn't have a direct view of the beach from the room but could see and hear the ocean. We were very pleased with our room. We had B&B, and we used the hotel as a base to explore the island. We were able to park our rental car on the hotel facilities at night at no extra cost - many hotels cannot do this. The breakfast was great - the weather allowed us to sit outside every morning with beach views. Our 8 year old daughter loved this (and indeed thought the hotel was the best she'd been to). We also used the bar on a few occasions and found the prices reasonable, and the location great. This part of Maspalomas is a good location to base your holiday. IFA Faro is located ideally with lots of choice of restaurants nearby in short walking distance, though sometimes they need to be booked. When we toured other areas we always felt we'd made the right choice. It's only about 25 minutes from the airport, and it's easy to get to many places (though the mountains take time from any location due to the climbs). It's also not far from Palmitos Park, which we really enjoyed (and ended up staying almost the whole day). WiFi was free and good around the hotel lobby and bar area but costs in-room. We didn't have too much of an issue with this - we were trying to limit our device usage! With roaming now free in EU, we could also easily use 3G. The pool isn't especially big, and tended to get cool by evening, but was warm in the morning. It's probably not the place to go if you want to just sit by a pool and have the kids play in that, but our.daughter loved her 30 minutes every day, and you could easily go into the sea/beach with just a 30m walk. Our room had a 3rd bed for our daughter which helped keep the price reasonable. The room obviously had less space, but there was a generous balcony, and we found the rooms to have everything we needed, including a good bathroom. It is not the newest, nor the most fancy hotel in the area, but we would certainly go back there again. Above all, the staff are an absolute delight - everyone - and I mean everyone - was friendly and helpful.
