We stayed at Hotel Cristina for a week in January and we absolutely loved it. Our spacious and beautiful room was on the 9th floor with the view to the port and the new built Poema Del Mar ( theme park). The hotel is directly on the beach and close to everything you need. Breakfast buffet is really good and we also had a delicious dinner at the hotel.
We stayed for a week in January and enjoyed the hotel and the sea. We had a beachfront room with a lovely view. The breakfast is very generous although the breakfast room is quite noisy. There are many nice restaurants nearby.
Location of the hotel is ideal if you fancy walks along the beach front with lots of places to eat. The area is not as pretty as the old town but it's only 5 euros in a taxi to get there. This is my second time in this hotel (working on a vessel in Port) and given the choice I would choose this hotel. Breakfast is nice with a good selection of fresh bread. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned every day to a good standard. The last time I stayed here however I needed to spread out the weight of the contents of my 2 bags so that they were not over weight when I got to the airport. The only scales are in the reception and cost 1 euro every time. I think it cost me 8 euros by the time I had finished. Why does a hotel have to make a profit from a guest wanting to weigh their bag? Why can't this just be a helpful service they can easily provide with a set of ordinary scales. The elevators are slow and I gave up using them and used the stairs every time. Overall I give this hotel the thumbs up.
This hotel seems to be one of, if not the rest oceanfront hotels in Las Palmas. Our room was smaller than I would have imaged, but I enjoyed our balcony view. We also had very immediate beach access. The elevators here were among the slowest I've ever encountered to the point that I'd just walk eight floors to my room. Breakfast always seemed to end too early for people on vacation. My wife said when she caught it, it was good. The hotel bar is basically a stand in the lobby.
Very good location - even better if you have a sea view room - costs more. Friendly staff. Terrible breakfast - same every day with limited choice. Toileteries in bath of very poor quality - I had to buy my own. Uncomfortable balcony furniture. Won’t go there again.
Cristina hotel is well located hotel at las Palmas. It's a combination of a hotel from 0 distance from the sea and at the down town on the other manner. The breakfast buffet was amazing good with a huge selection of goods. The dinner buffet was extreme good with traditional soanish and fusion food. i am still remember the fresh clam soup as well as the octupus serving suggestion. The wine list is very special and the hotel staff is always available to assit you. the room is big with a very very big bed, separated WC from bath , toothpaste, toothbrush etc for two also provided. It is suggested for couples, for families for matures that wish to travel alone. Oh ! possible to be forgotten the swimming pool with the bar that offers noce tapas and fresh juices!
Good hotel but not 5 stars, this is around 4 strars. The location is Great! Very close to the beach. The hotel have a gym, swimmingpool. The breakfast is complete, everything that you need/want. My room had a mini bar. inside that minibar you can take for free some drinks like, water/sparkling water/fanta/coke. So thats Nice. Staff was Friendly.
I used to stay at this hotel for many years back in the days when it was still part of the Meliá chain. However, Meliá did a very cheapish renovation of some floors (hall & 7 and up) and then sold the property, which is now part of the Sercotel chain. While the hotel never was a true five-star, with the renovation and change in ownership, it lost its atmosphere, the prices went up and, consequently, I decided to stay elsewhere. Now I’m back after many years to see that those years haven’t exactly been good to this place. My room is a renovated one, on the 7th floor, and it definitely doesn’t look or feel like a five-star. It’s a plain room with white-painted walls and laminate floors, and the bathtub has been replaced with a shower. The toilet paper is of the cheapest possible variety… On the upside, the bed is firm and comfortable, the minibar has complimentary water and soft drinks (you can request the hotel to fill it with chargeable items), the wifi is reliable and fast and the A/C works well. All rooms used to come with fitted carpets, matching wallpapers and curtains and a five star ambience. The non-renovated rooms on the 1st–6th floors have had their fitted carpets and wallpapers removed, but the rest remains, so the result looks half-ready. Breakfast is served in a very busy breakfast room from 6 am to 11 am and has a large variety of items, both hot and cold. Fried eggs and omelets are available on request at no extra charge. There’s a machine that squeezes fresh OJ for you. The pool area now has a bar with some snacks available, too. Most guests seem to be Finnish or Swedish. As said, the hotel is definitely not worth five stars, but even with the increase in prices, they still don’t charge five star prices. Las Palmas doesn’t really have any luxurious options, so for upscale accommodation close to the beach, it’s either Reina Isabel or Cristina. You can consider the Cristina a good and safe four-star property with an excellent location on Las Canteras beach, 7-min walk to Parque Santa Catalina. Just don’t expect luxuries and you will be fine.
Do pay extra to get a sea view room .... The hotel has wonderful views... Great beds and divided WC / bathroom... Nice room service.. Very helpful staff.. Nice buffet breakfast... Little pool and sun deck..but many sun deck chairs got occupied before breakfast and kept all day by towels.....Guests go to the beach in the morning and come back to their sun deck chairs in the afternoon..😡
This hotel had nice views. We had a family room and i loved the space and views in it. View to the beach and to the boats are. Loved the huge bed! Downside at this hotel is breakfast dinerarea at 9 a clock was so much people it was stressy to even enjoy then we started get up at 6 instead to have a much calmer start, even so i wished the choice of bread was better..and the coffie was not good sorry! The hotel is right where the beach area are and cafes and minishops and restaurants. Close to a bigger mall but go to las arenas instead much better shopping there if you like Zara or Primark. Its Easy to go by the localbus. Overall great room and bed. And service was supernice!
