We stayed for 10 nights from 9th of June and cannot fault the hotel at all. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff go the extra mile to be friendly and helpful. Views are superb. The whole complex is large, modern and spotlessly clean. The main hotel facilities are in Block 3 - so if you are in either Block 2 or 4 you're right next to everything. Block 1 is obviously further away so is probably quieter. We never had any issues with noise from traffic in our room so don't be concerned about that. We used both pools - the infinity pool on the lower level seemed busier so we tended to use the upper level pool most of the time as it was quieter and the range of sun beds was more varied. The staff do lift your towels if you try to reserve before 1000hrs (then go to breakfast) but there are loads so I wouldn't bother - when we were there the hotel was full and still had no issues getting 4 beds together. The food selection is superb and varied. Numerous cold and hot dishes to choose from plus cooked to order meat, pasta, and roast of the day. 2 soups (one at each end) and a good selection of fresh breads. Lots of cold hors douvres, cheeses, and desserts to choose from. They do themed nights regularly - when we were there we had Italian, Asian, French, Spanish, Canarian, and Mexican nights - all were very good and this was in addition to the standard options mentioned above. Wine, beer, and soft drinks are served by the waiters rather than self service but if you want a bottle of wine just ask and they'll bring it to your table (red or white in an ice bucket). With the exception of the upper pool bar everywhere else is waiter service for drinks. if you want branded drinks just ask for them - if you don't ask for Smirnoff, or Bombay Sapphire I think they pour you the local ones. House cocktails were okay and the All Inclusive finishers at 2330hrs. Entertainment in the evening was actually quite good (with the exception of the odd dodgy singer) - this included other acts such as a magician, acrobatics, etc. We tried the beach which is a short walk from the hotel via the lift but it is a wee bit steep coming back after a day there. 4 Euros for a bed or an umbrella. There are loads of café and restaurants and wee seaside shops. There is a SPAR shop across from the hotel if you need anything and they also sell English newspapers, cigarettes, sun lotion if you run out. Puerto Rico is a 20 minute walk along the coastal path - it undulates a bit along the way so fine when it's cool but we took taxis when it was hotter, or in the evening - under 4 Euros so not expensive at all. I'll let you form your own opinion about Puerto Rico as we found it a bit crammed and in need of a face lift at the Commercial Centre (shops). The harbour area and beach looked okay. I wouldn't bother going to the Europa Centre - not much there except a small number of shops and restaurants. Ask near the end of your holiday for late check out - there is a charge but it's down to availability so they put you in the list and you check back on 0930 on your last day to confirm. I've added a pic of the costs. 26 Euros for use of the safe for 10 days. Free WiFi which can be a bit intermittent away from your room. I'm not normally one for naming staff but a special mention to Louis and Pedro as they were so friendly, helpful, and such fun to talk to. Hopefully this gives you some facts to help you decide if you want to go there. Did we have a good holiday - superb. Would we recommend it - definitely. Would we go back - yes. Could we say anything bad about the hotel - not at all. I hope if you do go you'll have as good a holiday as we did.
This was the first time we stayed here in June . This is an amazing hotel and so beautiful . The staff are so friendly. The room are cleaned very well every day. and we would definitely stay here again . 😁
It's a big hotel with a Great service.Rooms are big and clean, very helpful and friendly staff . Food.... OMG! Food is so delicious ! Definitely will be back. Well worth money and very well recommended ! Infinity pool is clean and big, enough space for everyone. Good jacuzzi .
Hotel. We stayed at the Gloria Palace Royal Hotel and Spa for 11 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Our first impression of the hotel was how grande the reception looked and the truly personal approach of the check-in, with the offer of a glass to Cava or Orange juice. For some reason the room we had booked wasn't available, so we were upgraded free of charge, standard practice I know, but still a bonus. The room was large, with great sea views, super-king bed, sofa, large screen TV on the wall, plenty of storage, a kitchen hidden in a cupboard with a sink, microwave, coffee machine and fridge, En-suite with a bath and a shower. There's a large balcony with 2 sunbeds and a table with 2 chairs. We didn't have a kettle, but once we notified the reception we had one delivered. The rooms were cleaned and tidied daily, and the cleaners left you 2 complimentary bottles of water, tea bags and coffee. The breakfast is buffet style, available til 10:30am. There was plenty of choice for both there British and Continental guests, with fresh juices, fruit smoothies, tea, coffee, and even a Cava breakfast if you want one. The hotel's amenities are great too. A stunning heated Infinity pool, kids pool, roof-top terrace, with another colder pool and a nudist zone, heated spa and a gym, all included, therepy treatments are charged extra. I can't comment on the entertainment as we were B'n'B, so eat out every night, but the staff we did meet are a credit to the hotel. Resort. Amadores is a quiet resort, no nightlife as such, but only a 6 minute taxi ride or 20 minute walk from Puerto Rico if you want more choice. There's plenty of choice for restaurants on the beach front, we found the 'Blue Beach' restaurant to be our favourite, we eat there 8 out of 11 nights. Mogan Market on a Friday is a must, 11€ return on the glass bottom ferry from Puerto Rico or 1.55€ per way on the bus from Amadores. We will definitely return, and highly recommended both the hotel and resort to anybody.
We were very much looking forward to coming to this holiday as it has excellent reviews. We booked a 2 week holiday with our 2 kids. Initial impression stunning views and clean. The only dissapointment so far has been really the food. As we have 2 kids we are mainly in the main infinity pool were there is a small kids section. The food at the snack bar was extremely disappointing there isn't anything served for the kids. Although it has a snack menu which you need to pay which has children menu on however the all inclusive menu just hasn't got any kids menu. So have found that the food really doesn't cater for the kids. Lunch in the main restaurant doesn't have the kids buffet neither. Some staff were a bit unhelpful we had to often wait a while for them to blend the baby food. I would really say excellent hotel for couples but for children/ families it really need to be worked on. Another thing is the all inclusive option it really need to be updated a bit. This must be the only hotel I have come across that doesn't offer cappuccino or latte part of the all inclusive..
The Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa is the perfect place to relax if you are not planning on going hiking and just want to have all facilities near you. The hotel is very nice and confortable. The all inclusive buffet is fabulous with various and tasty food every day and every meals. The swimming pools are great as well as the spa! The personal is very friendly and helpful. The room (we were 3 adults) was big enough and very confortable! Only cons is that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and far from everything but like I said if you come just to enjoy the sun, the swimming pool and good food then you don't need to leave the hotel! I will for sure come back there
From the moment you enter the hotel the views through the glass walls take your breath away. All the staff are absolutely lovely and talk to you as though they know you well, makes you feel so comfortable. Loved our rooms, spacious, clean. Felt like I was living inside a cave with the stone walls, fabulous idea! We had an amazing balcony with views across Amadores beach, which is so pretty. Everywhere was so clean. Couldn't ask for more. A beautiful hotel full of wonderful people.
Can't fault this hotel at all simply fantastic Rooms are spotless Food exceptional Entertainment during the day was brilliant The only person I could not deal with and found him extremly arrogant and quite rude was the team leader in the animation team Cannot wait to return again
As the other reviews have said, this is a great hotel. There are so many people to thank. we started off writing down the names but this review would have been very long. Our rooms were huge and very clean. All appear to have a great view of the beach. Food amazing and the chef TAPIA even made us a special jelly one night. The gala evening was so much fun with the saxophonist and Manuel the singing waiter. We liked the fact that even the restaurant managers were happy to help out clearing tables and assisting the lovely waiters and waitresses. Our poolside entertainment was good and the young animation team worked very hard. Perhaps their boss( can't remember his name but liked to be know as "el Capitan" !!!!!!) could have let them do more as they were very capable, but he appeared to taking over which was a little annoying at times. I could go on and on about how good the hotel is. Overall, we will return again.
Just back from a relaxing week at the Royal, first class from check-in to departure. You do need to like buffet which is fine for a week or pay extra for the smaller Restuarant. There are a choice of pools we prefer the quiet one in 6th floor but strangely they won't serve you lunch on all inclusive here drinks only? Staff all very friendly special mention to Luis Lorenzo this guy seemed to be everywhere & nothing to much trouble. Rooms spacious & clean thanks 3rd floor cleaners. Entertainment every night some good some not so good. Only complaint as a returning guest we have now on both visits been stuck at the roadside end of the hotel which gets no sun and is noisier with traffic not the worst by any means however would be nice to recognise returning guest and maybe give them a better located room as although all inclusive not cheap. All in all though & thanks to staff (Adel, Manuel & others) a great stay, keep up the good work guys
