Hotel was great, the staff were excellent and the rooms were very comfortable and well looked after. The food was buffet and in general was good, did not try the al al acarte booked all inclusive but this was disappointing, if you were in the restaurant you basically could only get a local wine, beer or soft drink, that to me is not all inclusive. Even a proper ice cream or a milk shake was at extra cost. The entertainment was not great but only went for a week so was not to bothered about that. Special mention to Miguel in the lobby bar and Lorenzo in the top pool bar, they were excellent. But all inclusive it is not but nice hotel
What a beautiful hotel. Everything is in one word fantastic. Staff is very kind and helpful, big compliment to Ricardo Pita who helped us with everything (once again thank you). The food in the buffet restaurant is every day delicious and fresh and there is a lot of choice. I really do recommend to go to the a la cart restaurant in the hotel, best food of the island and very good service. Special thank to Ayoze (reception) and Cristo (restaurant). Fantastic hotel, perfect location, lovely staff, beautiful view, delicious food, nice and clean rooms. We will come back!
My stay here was fantastic. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the hotel was immaculate and the views stunning. Also went to the beach a few times, very easy to access and an alternative to the pool. Had a couple of spa treatments, also first class.
From arrival to departure we had a fantastic stay. The hotel has friendly staff who take the time to chat with guests. We stayed on a half board basis, the food is excellent there is something is suit everyone's taste. The room we stayed in was well equipped there was a mini kitchen were you could make a snack, if you wanted. We had our 9 year old grandson with us and he loved 'Tina's Club' the animation team were great. The evening entertainment was much improved on last year. The hotel supply pool towels and these can be exchanged at reception, whenever necessary, for fresh ones. The hotel is in a great location, a short taxi journey costing about 4 euro takes you to Puerto Rico or 15 euro to Mogan. We've stayed here twice and will definitely stay again.
Very pleased the room was spacious the bed was big and comfortable nice separate toilet plenty of clean towels. Tea and coffee in room nice seating area outside plenty of wardrobe space and hangers the only thing I would comment on is you had to pay for the safe .the pools were good and so we're the both outside bars and snack bar the snack bar is o.k a bit limited especially if staying for two weeks would like to have seen a bit more choice.the main restaurant was excellent it was buffet but had lots of choice and freshly cooked food changing every night you could by some nice wine .the staff were very helpfull at reception and in restaurant. We had a very good massage in the spa also the facilities in the spa and gym were good. The hotel is situated in a good place overlooking beach .the sunbeds by the infinite pool were a bit basic but the sunbeds on the other terrace were much more spaced out and comfy .we had a great stay and nothing was to much trouble good food most branded drinks and great staff will definitely be returning.
We stayed here with our two kids (9 & 7) in Apr 18. We didn’t actually book this hotel, but we’re upgraded from another hotel as the original room we were allocated was inadequate. Upon arrival at Gloria Palace Royal we were stressed and tired, but this soon began to melt away. Reception staff were sweet and helpful, the room was everything we hoped for and the infinity pool was wonderful; extremely clean yet without cloying chlorination. We had every intention of going to the beach everyday, but made it only twice. The pool was just so lovely, our kids loved the Mini Club and the hotel never really seemed particularly busy; there were always sun-loungers available. We stayed half-Board and the food was excellent. There was a really good variety, it was beautifully fresh and catered well to our wide variety of palettes and requirements..! There was also a well-stocked Spar shop only a short walk away. Perhaps the greatest strength of the hotel was the staff. There always seemed to be so many of them and they were invariably helpful, great with the kids and friendly. Finally, the bill at the end of our stay was pretty much as expected, with no nasty sting in the tail. Now, two days after returning to the UK, we have been busy researching how to return. I really miss the view from the infinity pool across Amadores beach to the Atlantic beyond...
We stayed at the Gloria Palace Amadores for about 10 times and find that hotel marvellous. The Gloria Palace Royal however is even better. For sure we’ll come again. What a service, what an excellent food and what a nice staff. In one word: Chapeau!
We stayed here during March 2018. Our booking was made based on Trip Advisor recommendations for this mid-price 4* Hotel. The Hotel is very well placed with tremendous sea-views, it is also very well presented with everything being well maintained and spotlessly clean. Rooms are opulent and spacious, beds are very large and extremely comfortable. The room (Double room, sea-view ) was excellent and came with a large balcony. Our room 1102 (which breaks down as Block 1, Floor 1, Room 02) was beyond expectations. The public spaces are large enough to cope with all of the guests. The infinity pool area was our favourite, although there was another pool area located above that, and a nudist area above that (if that’s your thing). Reception (floor 6) also has a bar, meaning guests are spread across the complex and helps to create a relaxed feeling. The Buffet restaurant was excellent, waiters meet, greet and seat you. Napkins, table cloths and glasses create a nice ambiance at any time of the day. Fresh ground coffee and Juices are available for breakfast, as well as other times. Freshly ‘cooked in front of you’ as well as buffet food was always available, and the quality of everything was always really good in the restaurant. The staff obviously enjoy their work and take pride in ensuring you are happy. The bar beneath the restaurant is where most people went at night, the animation was not the best we had seen although it was out of season and did provide entertainment. This bar is table service and the waiters are again always happy to help. Drinks are a little complicated as there are two menus, one all-inclusive, and one for non A/I residents. Although we have been assured there is no difference in quality it did appear there was. I also ordered a Jug of Sangria (on the A/I menu) and was presented a very nice hand made jug of Sangria along with a bill for 18 Euros. When I pointed to the A/I menu it was taken away and I was told ‘only coppa’ on A/I? hmm, it’s in the A/I menu as a jug of Sangria? That aside, this is a wonderful hotel. Personally, I would rather pay a little more and have a single drinks menu, A/I doesn’t mean second class and I hate to pay for something twice, perhaps that is something the hotel may consider in the future. Other than that small gripe you cannot be disappointed with this hotel, the service and quality is excellent. The staff are wonderful and the location is beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Just returned from GPR hotel with my husband and 2 adult sons. From start to finish the staff in this hotel were fantastic. The staff in the restaurant were so hard working and so friendly an absolute credit to themselves. The chefs prepared the most delicious food and the quality of the meats and other ingredients were excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable week and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
I booked G.P.R for a family holiday (which included three generations 4 yrs to 60yrs ) My husband and myself have been several times before and always had great holidays. So I was hoping our family would see what the appeal was at the Gloria Palace Royal ! From the moment we arrived their reaction spoke volumes, the three rooms which we were allocated in block 1 exceeded our expectations.... with the space, the sun loungers on the balcony and the views of Amadores beach ! (You Nailed It ! ) Because of their ages I was expecting not to spend much time at the hotel, but they loved everything, the pool & sun terrace, the spa, the dining room every meal was first class. Also a special mention to Brian, he was fantastic with our grandchildren and made our experience at G.P.R memorable for all the right reasons ! Well done and Thank you to all the staff we had a fantastic family holiday !
