This hotel is located nearly the centre. Acomodation is ok with good breakfast. Courtesy of the staff and average price ifcompared with the location Bathroom is new ...and .clean room. It is ok Nice surprise ...the entrance is. Not so helpfull
Stayed for a night. Good location near to the Gothenborgs gardens. The hotel feels a bit hidden. Staff are very friendly and the food was good for the money. Rooms are small, toilets are a bit untidy but considering that it is one of the cheapest descent hotel in the city. I recommend this for short stayers looking for affordable hotel in the city.
Staff was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was good as well. The room was clean and the bed was a little soft. However the bathroom was horrible. Between the tiles there was a lot of mold and I also ran out of toilet paper, because there almost was none. Also when you took a shower the whole bathroom was wet due to the short curtain. Will not stay there again.
If you just want a friendly nice and clean hotel downtown, this is a hidden gem ! OK, it is situated between 2 busy streets, but it is close to everything!!!!!!!!! My experience was very good, and I highly recommend it !!!
The location is quite good and the staff is really nice. The breakfast is OK and it's a nice idea that you can make your own waffles during the afternoon, even if I was not at the hotel at that time any of the days I stayed. The bed was horrible. Far from comfortable and made sounds as soon as you moved any part just slightly. Not a good nights sleep. If you are not as sensitive as I am with how the bed is, this hotel is worth its price.
I recently traveled to Gothenburg for a holiday, and I was impressed at this hotel. Checking in and checking out was both prompt and efficient, and they were kind enough to grant me a late check-out on my final day, which was much appreciated. The location of the hotel is also good. It's located near the central train station, so you can easily walk there when you arrive and leave Gothenburg by train. The hotel was also located across the road from a park which had the Palmhuset attraction which was very nice. For people who like to cycle, there were also two bike sharing stations in convenient locations near the hotel. If you don't want to cycle though, the hotel's location is more than adequate to allow you to walk to any attractions in the city center, or to other attractions like Haga or Skansen Kronan. Overall, this hotel was very nice, and I can recommend it to anyone traveling to Gothenburg on a solo trip at least. The only disadvantage was the early closure of the complimentary breakfast buffet on weekdays, since it closed at 9:30am.
I have a mixed reaction to this hotel. The first impressions are not great - the hotel looks a bit bleak on the outside and the entrance area is very strange. However we got a friendly welcome. We never saw the same person on reception twice, but all the staff seemed friendly and well trained. The room was basic and reasonably clean (although perhaps not up to normal very high Swedish standards). The breakfast was OK. Other good points - good location (near Avenyn), free coffee, tea, biscuits and cake at all times in the lounge and freshly made waffles late afternoon (very good), good wifi. I can't comment on the value as this was paid on account by the company, but at the right price this would be a OK place to stay.
I just took two nights on hotel and its so amazing it cost 800 kr per night and you have your own jacuzzy in the room and amazing views i really recommend this hotel in gothenburg. Its very cheap and breakfast included
My husband and I recently stopped at the Hotel Allen for a long weekend in Gothenburg. At the time of booking, the hotel was reasonably priced which is why we booked it. The hotel is not large and it is not luxurious but it is comfortable and had everything we needed. The bedroom was not large, but it was big enough for what we needed as we were out most of the time anyway. The bathroom was nice, with underfloor heating. In fact, despite the fact we visited in December, the whole hotel was pleasantly warm. The location of the hotel is good as we were within easy walking distance of the city centre and also Liseberg, and the Ullevi stadium is just around the corner. Our bedroom was on the ground floor and close to reception so we could hear the bell and we could hear the traffic from the road outside, but to be honest we slept very well every night we were there so this wasn't a problem. Our room had a hairdryer in the bathroom, TV in the room and free wifi. There weren't any tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, but the lounge near reception does have these facilities. Our room was so close we could easily nip out when we wanted a drink. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, and there is a facility to store your luggage on the day you check out. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a city break. We had friends who were staying at the bigger, more luxurious hotels in the city centre and this hotel is not in that league. However, it does represent good value for money and if you just want somewhere clean and tidy to sleep and have breakfast, then you can't go wrong.
We arrived on a Sunday evening in December. We had to ring the bell for the door to be unlocked in order to enter what looked like the back staircase - in fact, it was the main staircase. Racks left in corridor ready to service rooms. Room adequate size but very minimalist - no pictures etc. The two beds had no headboards, only one small pillow and a duvet. Overall it was a bleak welcome although the girl at reception was pleasant and helpful. The shower room was reasonable but looked tired. The only toiletries were wall-mounted dispensers. Although tea/coffee etc are available in what is called the lounge are available 24 hours, there is no facility in the room. Biscuits and some cakes were available but we never saw any waffles. Breakfast is just about acceptable although the room is a bit small. The location is fine although it always felt as though we were entering via the back door. Overall this does not feel like a hotel - it has the feel of a hostel for workers. On a positive note, the staff were very pleasant and friendly.
