Magnuson Hotel Nashville North

It's a 2 star hotel. Looks like it was formerly a Baymont Inn given some of the signage at the hotel but for some reason now operates as Magnuson (maybe they lost their franchise right?). The good: room was spacious and bathroom was surprisingly nice. Outside of hotel was well kept. The bad: Hotel advertises free breakfast but was advised when we checked in that the manager makes that decision in the morning. Sure enough, breakfast area lights were off and we were out of luck. I asked the desk clerk if they had any coffee and he questioned, can't you get that in your room? Wow. I've never encountered a place that advertised breakfast amd then failed at the offer. Look for duct tape on door locks. Expect that they will ask you to just turn everything off and leave your door cracked open upon checkout so that the maid can gain access. What the heck is that all about? We signed a confirmation that we wouldn't smoke in their rooms which indicates that it's a non-smoking hotel. Our room smelled of moderate smoke that was probably absorbed into the carpet and curtains. So, stay here is there isn't another option. We paid $65 + $15 in taxes. I just checked their listing and they are asking close to $130 tonight. You are either crazy or desperate to pay more than $65 for a night. Worst place that we've stayed in our week of travels.

They put me in a stinky room. The carpet, sofa and blanket covers had stains. We asked to change the room to which they said they cannot. They changed it the next day. The sleep was horrible, and to imagine the extent, I carried the smell with my clothes back to my home. Still lingering for few days.

I love the hotel room it remind me of the rooms at Hampton Inn.... I rate everything 5 stars, but the only thing that sick is they dont have free breakfast like the ad says... Other then that ill go back over and over!

I would not stay at this hotel again. The room was old and had holes in carpet, furniture, bedding. The AC unit had knobs gone and it ran all the time either in heat or cool. Very bad hotel for the price.

I definitely will stay here again as the rooms were great. I loved the water fountain out in the middle and was able to sit out at night and enjoy.

Pleasantly surprised at the hotel. Ratings showed low but the description of the hotel sounded much better. Friendly staff and very nice clean room. The Continental breakfast was not good. Very bare bones. Would stay there again for sure!

The desk was not staffed when we checked in,was not staffed when we wanted to check out. They advertised breakfast no one there was told they had ant problem so no breakfast, had to call office number to get this info. There was a coupon for 49.99 but they would not reimburse me for the difference. Would not recommend.

We will not be returning to this hotel. Our room had several spiders, cobwebs and ants in the bathroom sink. I also saw some dead bugs on the blankets of the bed that may have been bed bugs but I am really not sure. I really hope they weren't. The room also had a bad smell. It was obvious that the room had previously been smoked in before. The hotel staff were nice and the wifi worked well so I am giving it 2 stars.

Good location. Room was clean bed a little soft. Breakfast was not great. Toaster waffles, cheap Kroger bread for toast, cold cereal and some fresh fruit. Staff friendly but one girl was hard to understand (had strong accent)

Business last minute. Close to *Star BuX* and lots of restaurants. Granite counters, clean sheets. no loitering ne'er do wells! This is a PLUS! Across from a LARGE NICE MALL. Didn't use it but it was there. Right off interstate but no noise. Nice soaps, which is generally a sign of "CARING" management. Only a deal because of *Orbital* deal. I wouldn't be happy at full $60 price, but at 45!

Rooms had everything that was advetised. However, there is no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, be prepared to carry it up the stairs. It is an older property, but rooms have been refurbished. It was an OK stay.

Upon walking into the jacuzzi suite room the room was musty and I went to the front desk and asked if they had some spray. The front desk agent at once sprayed the room and brought a room purifier unit to the room for an hour. Quiet and clean. Nothing special.

Average hotel- rooms were clean but outside and eating area need maintenance.

I was in N'vlle on business. My stay at this Baymont Inn was wonderful! The staff was super nice. The rooms were clean and the beds were better than my California King at home. The young lady that checked me in went over and beyond to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Once I got there the luggage cart was not operating correctly. This young lady came out helped me to unload my vehicle with all my luggage & carried to the room for me. She was also very concerned about my mother. She made everything right. The breakfast was ok. I would recommend that you change the imitation eggs & sausage. They were not good at all. The owner that put the breakfast out was not very friendly. But the attendants that cleaned the room was so very nice. I would definetly stay here again. This hotel is 10 minutes from downtown N'vlle. For the price, I got over & beyond my monies worth.
