This hotel was an ok place to stay. Check in was quick and friendly. Room was clean and spacious. Continental breakfast was fine. There are reataurants near by to eat at. Too bad the location is right on the Trans-Canada and not in the charming downtown area. Price was too high for the room.

Arrived late in Golden after a long days drive, heading west. We were glad to find somewhere to spend the night. We were on the 2nd floor, so no big problem to lug bags up the stairs. The room was clean and quiet, just what I wanted. Breakfast was breads, roll your own waffles, cereal, boiled eggs. The coffee was good, what more can I say!

We stayed at the Travelodge as we were passing through for one night. Service was fine. Pool was good with a big water slide! Hot tub jets were very weak and the temperature of the hot tub was colder than my bathtub. Overall it was very clean! Downside is that we were on the top level no elevator so had to carry all of our items up two flights of stairs, shared patio and could not get adjoining rooms for our family. The breakfast buffet was mediocre with not a lot of selection. Overall I'd say this Hotel was pretty average.

Stayed here for three nights while in Golden for business. The staff were all very friendly. The room was your typical hotel room, a little dated but had what you needed. I unfortunately did not use the pool or hot tub but lots of people were. The location was good right by the highway and east access to the restaurants around the area or a short drive to downtown. My biggest beef was with the price, very over priced for what you got BUT then so was everything else in Golden in a August!

Travelling with friends: We booked a Double room with kitchenette so we'd have a fridge available for our road snacks. Check-in was fast and friendly. When we arrived at the room (ground floor -motel style) the window was open, and as we entered the room we understood why. Although, there was no visible kitchenette (connecting door was locked-off) there was obvious, extremely aromatic, cooking odors. We asked for a change of room but the hotel was full so no luck there. The front office staff member came to unlock the kitchen door and, at our request, opened a deodorizer sponge, and we left the bathroom-style ceiling fan on, then closed the connecting door to isolate the kitchen. Even with the room window open all night, the cooking odors were still very strong the next morning. My companion was also a bit put off by a suspicious stain on her pillowcase so that didn't help. The breakfast the next morning was okay. Lots of bread-type selections, not so much for protein (yogurt only, no cheese/eggs/meat), and only extremely overripe bananas for fruit. (would make fabulous banana bread!) Generally the stay was disappointing. However, in the interest of fairness, the kitchen had a full size stove and fridge, sink , small table, and coffee maker so it would be great if you were staying for a few days with family. They just really, really, need better ventilation for in-room cooking.

The check in was organized and fast ... the young lady was very pleasant . Makes it for a nice start to an evening in their hotel . Good impressions is huge and she reminded us of the breakfast in the morning .....the pool area and the water slide, in which the kids were so looking forward to .

This hotel ended up being a drive through stop for us. I felt bad for the front desk girl because she seemed to have no help. I had to do a load of laundry at this hotel and it was a clean area. The kids loved the pool and the waterslide. We were away from the road, so we had very little noise. Breakfast was okay. Typical hotel breakfast. Checkout was quick and easy.

I was along for the ride so to speak with my husband while he was driving all over Western Canada to make connection with clients, many in rural locations. After driving 12 hours, we stopped in this city for an unscheduled rest. We were exhausted. His job usually puts us up in Hilton Hotels and I didn't realize that two years of Hilton locations has turned me into a tiny bit of a hotel snob. Well, we got there and there was no Hilton hotel available, or any hotel for that matter and we were kind of forced to stay here. So I guess just keep that in mind. This is not the type of hotel we are used to. I think some Hilton Hotels can rate as a 5 on my scale of preference. This hotel was automatically at a 3 for just its "class" so to speak, however for a lower star hotel, it was nice and had a lot of pluses. I will talk about them here. -The guy who checked us in. When he told us the breakfast hours and we replied, "Oh we will be gone before then" he offered to have some breakfast available for us early. That's never happened at a Hilton. He also offered to keep the pool open about 30 minutes longer than necessary if we wanted a relaxing swim that night. We were too tired to take him up on that, but come on...how awesome is that? -The place was clean and appeared to be free of any bugs. Yes we pulled the sheets back to the mattress. -The place is quaint and cute. -They have a GREAT park across from the office. Lots of tables and activity areas. See my pics. -While I didn't see it, apparently there is a water slide at the pool. -They have a cute bear outside to take pictures with and pretend he's eating you. -Just set your expectations appropriately and you should be fine here.

A very noisy spot even though it is off the highway. Rooms clean and service was good. Take the outside chairs and put them by front office. We had an individual outside our room sitting there talking on cell phone very loud and we heard every word (domestic squabble) This was about 1:30 am . Then we heard people packing up around 5 am. The walls are too thin maybe but every sound rumbled through. We only wanted a room for the night as we were just traveling through and wanted to shorten the trip. Just something to consider if this is your plan

We spent a night here and we have no complaints. Check in was easy. The front desk ladies were very pleasant and helpful. Or room was very clean and everything worked fine. Bed and pillows were great. The pool was fun. Great waterslide. The hot tub could have been hotter. Free breakfast was your standard fare. Good enough for free. Fairly expensive but everything in Golden is.
