Our one bedroom suite was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had probably the biggest bed I've ever slept in :) Full kitchen, large bathroom, had a fireplace and the view from our balcony was beautiful. The location in the Kicking Horse Ski Resort was excellent and we found the place very easy, using Google Maps. Gondola ride and bear sanctuary nearby. Definitely recommended for both summer and winter
We really enjoyed our stay here. We had a 1 bedroom unit with a balcony, only problem was we shared it with the room beside us. No one mentioned the balcony was shared & I was rather surprised when I wandered over to sit at the table & saw someone in the room. The weather was cool, so not a big deal, had it been warm & sunny, not sure how our neighbours would have liked 2 strangers sitting in front of their room. Otherwise everything was outstanding. Sunrise from our balcony.
Very nice 2 bedroom & bathroom corner unit. Ideal for 2 couples although the Hot Tub is nice but quite small. Great views from the deck & hot tub. Almost ski out but definitely ski-in. We would definitely return
Fantastic trip and outstanding accommodations. Perfect location with the walk out almost at the main lift. The best place to ski as a family as everyone can be on there own schedule and meet up later if someone wants to sleep in.
Excellent ski resort was excellent as per usual. I'm a repeat customers and love the Mtn and village. Excellent hospitality by all employees. I would recommend that the rooms be cleaned daily or even every other day. Also that for survey promotions that the client be provided with an electronic confirmation of such.
I was there this year during a very calm period and everything was nice. But 3 years back, I was there during spring break with wife and daughter and did not sleep for 2 nights. Yes, the neighbors were partying, but when you can hear an electric toothbrush through the wall, there's definitely a soundproofing problem.
Walk a few metres, put on your skis and head off to the gondola, where you have to take them off :p. 5 - 10 mins walk to restaurants and shops for dinner. There is no shuttle to Golden anymore, so if you want to go to town you should get a car. Taxi was around $40 one way. Room is reasonable. Room service is every 4 days, but if there are 2 of you, you will run out. Just get a hold of the cleaners and refresh.
My Boyfriend and I stayed in Glacier Mountaineer last year and had such an amazing experience and couldn't have been happier with our accommodations. But this go around we stayed in Palliser lodge cause it was the only thing available at the time. Our King size bed was just two singles pushed together with a sheet thrown over it. It just seemed like everything in our room was just kinda thrown together. they also didn't use sound proof insulation between the rooms because we could hear everything in our neighbours rooms as well as in the hallways. It also would have been nice to at least have a walking path to the lodge from the main lodging instead of having to walk up the road and through the parking lot. Also I don't know what kind of toilets they used but the top lid wasn't on solid and it kept sliding around so we had to move it around each time so that it would flush when we pushed the button. the first time i took the lid off and saw how gross it was and never took the lid off again. Our patio was on the first floor and wasn't even shovelled. Last year we had an amazing experience and left saying we would be for sure coming back next year. But i was left thoroughly disappointed this year. This was the type of accommodations i would expect out of a motel not out of Kicking Horse.
We really enjoyed the ski in/out option each day. The room was tidy and was all we needed, we appreciated the microwave for a breakfast oats each morning. The bed was comfortable, but a little annoying being two singles joined together as you would always find the join... We accessed the fitness room each day, which was sufficient. The only real downfalls were the shower didn't quiet get hot enough and the room next door and above us were quiet noisey at night, you could hear voices and people stomping around. It did stop before we felt the need to complain though.
This hotel is so nice and well kept from the flat screen TV's to the insert fire place it is so warm and comfortable. I love staying here it has made my kicking horse experience that much better! And the putting my skis on at the back door and skiing down to to the lifts makes me pretty happy.
