The Shore Apartment

I stayed at the shore apartments for 3 nights whilst on a trip to the Gold Coast. The apartments are in a very good location, a couple of minutes walk to the beach and to the Surfers Paradise North tram station which is very convenient for getting around the city and to destinations such as the theme parks and Brisbane. I stayed in a self contained one bedroom apartment located on the first floor. As I was on a low floor and facing away from the ocean I did not have much of the advertised sea view, unless I stuck my head out of the window and looked around. The apartment itself is big, with a large kitchen/living area and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The apartment itself whilst clean was very dated. All of the furniture is old and there is a significant amount of rust in the bathroom and almost all of the blind pullys were covered in rust as were the chair legs in the kitchen. The blinds themselves were in poor condition and had numerous stains. The bedding was old fashioned and there was a small stain at the bottom of the sheet. I found the 500mb per day internet limit to be very stingy in this day and age. Even if you are out most of the day it doesn’t take much to hit that limit and then you have to pay $5 per 300mb to get any additional access. Free unlimited WiFi is standard in the vast majority of places. It is important to know going in that these apartments are self contained, they won’t be cleaned during your stay and you will need to move all of your rubbish/wash the dishes before you leave. Not a problem for me but it is a budget apartment block with no frills attached. There is no air conditioning in the apartments and only a fan. Again, even in budget places throughout Australia air conditioning came as standard so this is another thing to bare in mind as I had to keep taking the fan with me between the living room and bedroom each day. The receptionist was helpful and my apartment was available slightly earlier than the allotted check in time. After 7pm you need to use a key to enter the building as reception is closed. I stayed at the shore due to its close proximity to the beach and tram and it can’t be faulted in that regard. The downsides were a room on a lower floor not facing the ocean and how tired and dated the apartment was. With a bit of renovation it could be very good but for now it is just okay if you are looking for a budget option in surfers.

We visited the appartments with my family. Everything was very clean the bed comfort but it'snot for a family. No aircondition and no dishwasher or washing machine. There's Landry but you have to pay for every wash or dry. It is so good view from the balcony but for me i need to be more relax and not to do everything like home

Surprised that this is a budget apartment block. I have stayed in more expensive places where the facilities were not as good as at the Shore. I loved my stay. The apartment was clean, the shower was great. All the appliances that one would need when holidaying. Soap, dishwashing liquid, soft towels, milk tea and coffee to start your stay before you can get to the convenience store for supplies. Bottle shop around the corner. Beach across the road. What more can one ask for. Thank you Dorothy for the friendly welcome and I'll see you when I next return to the GC.

No air conditioning and you can't open the windows. The whole place is stuffy. This place is awful not worth it. My bedding has stains on it and the curtains have holes in them. I definitely do not recommend staying here.

Accommodation in early January can be hard to find but we managed to get a room at The Shore. We had ocean views plus views to the north and west. The beach is just across the road and 100m to a patrolled area for swimming. The one bedroom was simple and clean, a bit dated but it was Ok and had everything we needed. Good value at this time of year. Friendly reception staff. Secure parking. Pool and spa in the open. Close to central surfers, easy stroll to great restaurants. I'd be happy to return here.

After staying a week at The Shore Apartments in August 2016, we returned again to stay for 9 days in April 2017. We requested either the same room we had in August, which was on level 6 facing the beachfront, or a beach view apartment on a higher level. We were lucky to be placed in a higher level on the second visit, I think it was level 10 or 11. The apartment was amazing, the apartment was clean, spacious, modern and comfortable. It had everything we needed to cook meals for the week, but was close to food outlets. I couldn't fault the apartment at all. I had to stay on the Gold Coast for a week to recover from surgery at GCPH. The tram station is close by which is handy for traveling and from to GCPH, or to go shopping at Cavill Ave or Pacific Fair shopping centre. The views from the apartment is amazing with do much to see, I love to people watch. So would have been great to have a small bench near the front window with a couple of bar or kitchen stools so I could sit, watch the world go by while sipping on a cup of tea. The free car parking is a bonus, and I loved having Foxtel tv, as I was recovering, it was great to have to stop me from me going insane. The staff was friendly, and very understanding that we had to forgo our last night's stay with them as we had to return home suddenly on our second last day there. We had a couple of rainy or cloudy days, but most days it was sunny, and the weather was nice. We will return one day for a third visit, next time in the warmer months so we can take advantage of the beautiful beach over the road. Thank you Shore Apartments & staff.

Apartment was so smelly and all the furniture was in very bad condition when I complained to the receptionist she didn't listen and said "that's a dubget accommodation" really???? You paid $120 per night for this ........! they deodrize the room but it didn't work either it was still smely We Left the apartment within an hour she didn't refund us for our 3 nights Didn't do anything

I would like to highly recommend a stay in an apartment in The Shore Holiday Apartments if you are needing accommodation in this area. Although the building is of a certain age, everything is looked after very well. The public area, the covered parking and the terrace parking area, the pool are all kept really clean and looking well cared for. There is an efficient system in place if your check-in happens to be outside of office hours, all worked to plan. We had an extended stay of nearly 6 weeks at The Shore and stayed in 2 different apartments. The first apartment on the 1st floor is getting close to needing another reno but still comfortable and clean and met all our needs. The 2nd apartment had recently had a really nice reno done to a very high standard on the 5th floor. Dorothy and Kaye in the office were delightful and so very helpful to us during our stay for which I send a very big thank you. As an added bonus, there is a great cafe and small bar on the premises to add to all the other fantastic location aspects, directly across from the beach, 2 minute walk to the tram stop, walking distance to the centre of Surfers Paradise and direct access to all the other activities to be enjoyed around the Gold Coast. Could not recommend this property highly enough.

Even where theres no cleaning for 7-8days, as this is an apartment, i still do love my stay here. Firstly because it is so near to the beach, and secondly, the surfer paradise north station is just less than 5 mins away. The trams is by far the most convient ride for us. For buses like tx2,tx3, i can just cross 2 traffic lights to the bus stop. Those are express bus that led me to dreamworld and movie world. It is also a walkable distance to cavil avenue and surfer paradise. There are also washing machine and dryers at level 3,4 and additional washing machine at level 10. It cost you $3 for each wash but trust me the dryer is enough to dry our bunch of clothes. And lastly you can cook. It is a fully equipped kitchen. Just remember to keep the doors (balcony) open to let the smell/smoke out.

We stayed at the 1 bedroom apartment for 3 nights & everything required is available at the apartment, including free undercover parking. While the apartment is a bit outdated but still in good state to stay over. Reception is very helpful in providing us details. The 500Mb per day FREE WiFi is very limited but then everyone nowadays has data included in their mobile plan so this is not an issue for us. Will likely visit again.
