Was a repeat customer. Happy last time but not this time very poor experience. Stayed over new years 2017 at $380 per night. Last 2 mornings woken at 7am by talking. Workmen hanging from ropes outside bedroom and bathroom windows. They then proceeded to grind and hammer drill. The noise gave us a headache. Informed caretaker and asked if they're offering a discount. He made light of it and even bragged that in his home of nz theyd start earlier! He said hes only caretaker and would ask the ownership committee....i never heard back. Questions: 1. Could it be done after 10am when most guests are out and about? 2. Could we be informed so as to book elsewhere, close curtains for privacy, get up earlier and leave, not drink too much or have a late night and expect a sleep in on holiday? 3. Could the works be done in low season not in the pinnacle of high season? Both keys didnt work in door. Caretaker had to file them. Why wasnt this already done? Windows filthy. Light in 2nd bedroom blown. Washing machine didnt work. I found a pair of previous guests undies wedged under drum. I suspect this prevented it rotating. We discovered this as multiple clothing items stained from washing liquid just sitting on them. Rusty. Dirty. Dated and in a state of disrepair. Scaffold holding up ledges on the exterior of 2 floors. 300mm section of concrete broken off in hallway wall. Benchtops worn through. Fridge shelf broken off. Elec cooktop only has high setting. Rangehood filthy. Not enough towels provided. Staff hardly ever around. No aircon Only good things are view....thru filthy windows. Large spa. Comfy bed Overpriced for this outdated venue that has disregard for guests comfort. Will look elsewhere

Let me start by saying we used to love this place. Not any more. The day we arrived to check in, there was a man cleaning the pool area but no one else about. We waited for a while to see if anyone else came to reception to check us in. Meanwhile the man in the pool area looked at us but continued his hosing. We waited some more. Eventually my husband tapped on the glass to get his attention to ask if he knew where the reception staff were. Turns out it was him!!! Things just went downhill from there. The windows are absolutely filthy to the point you cannot see out of them. Someone had written "clean me" on one of the windows in the apartment we had. Not to mention the following - dirty knife left in dishwasher, shower head not attached to wall, leaking ceiling, air conditioner that was placed between two walls and cooled nothing but the hallway, shelf missing off fridge door, kettle lid broken......and this in a "refurbished apartment". There was a hole in the wall in the living area....l could go on. Extremely disappointed and will never stay again. Read the reviews people, the place needs a total makeover including the customer service.

First of all, our initial impressions were good as the view was amazing. Over time, our thoughts on the hotel got worse. I echo the comments about the oldness of the hotel as I feel it is definitely in need of a refurbishment. I also echo the previous comments about the poor customer service from the staff. We lost a hat by the pool and luckily by chance saw the hat sitting on the reception desk. When we approached the female staff member to get the hat back, she claimed it was hers. I knew the hat was mine as it had a mark on it. Fortunately there was a male staff member there who handed the hat back. When I got the hat back, I noticed the sizing had been readjusted. I guess it must have been an ‘in demand’ item. I wouldn’t return due to the poor service experience I had.

Our stay at Capricorn One Holiday Apartments was nothing short of appalling!! On arrival at reception the person who checked us in was dressed in a tank top and camo shorts - not appropriate receiving overseas visitors. As we progressed up to our room the windows in the lift were filthy. Paint chipped off the walls and in our apartment curtains were perished. On looking out the window (view amazing) but we also saw chipped off concrete exposing re-enforcing steel on the verandah. Moving into the bathroom ONE SMALL square of soap for handbasin and shower - lucky I brought shower gel. Shower good but toilet old and tired. The lounge looks shabby carpet couches and cusions all needed cleaning. Coming in from a day out the place smells musty old and maybe of past smokers. The kitchen bench had last guest's tea stains on it so wot else was slipping under the radar. When we asked for more linen, soap powder and swimming towels we were told either you are expected to buy yr own or we are not a hotel!!! No extras like a hairdryer or box of tissues. When the wind blew thru closed windows it made a huge annoying sound. Their website is far outdated. No warning of refurbishment going on posted on website. Photos etc taken years ago. The linen was good along with bed to sleep in but bedspread needed a wash. Location and views second to none but you pay dearly for these. Shirley

Before I have completed my review I anticipate a very rude response from the management. This is based on my experience of poor customer service and confrontational responses to my complaints. I could write in detail my opinion of this hotel and issues wth my room (old mattress, moody aircon) but in short it is not up to standard, not clean enough and was left disappointed. It looks far better on the website and the reviews on trip advisor saying how wonderful it is are very misleading. Please make your mind up but I would not stay here again. I regularly travel to Gold Coast for work and this will be my first and only stay. The final comment I would like to make is that the managers told me that they completed an inventory of each apartment. They apartments are individually owned and they are encouraging the owners to raise the standards. Until this happens I would not stay again but if you are on a tight budget as a family this may suit your needs.

So disappointed - we had been looking forward to this for a long time. As soon as we got to our room we were underwhelmed and mostly surprised at how dirty it was. You could barely see out the windows. The bathroom was gross, the rooms tiny, the balcony had mould, the air con was foul. We lasted about 5 mins before checking out. I have no idea who stays here and thinks it is amazing. There are many better options available.

Great views from our apartment ocean and River , value for money not bad , Rooms a bit run down but good , Not a 5 star place but does the job , location very central to surfers paradise about 10 mins walk , 3 mins drive , tram station close by , beach right across the road . Holiday was good .

Sand in every bed upon arrival (we had yet to even go near the beach). Shower had not been cleaned - hair hanging from the shower head and used soap still in the shower. Ants all around the kitchen and lounge area. Construction on the building started as early as 7.45am made holiday sleep in's impossible.

A weekend away with mates and luckily we landed at the Capricorn One. Well presented digs and excellent communication from staff. Great views from rooms. Nice pool and spa. The building is centrally located just far enough from Cavill Ave to seek refuge and relaxation. The rooms are great for small groups and families. They are also fairly priced. Highly reccomended.

Great views, The apartment was clean, the beds comfortable and had a fantastic water blasting shower. Everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The spa pool was a little to exposed to the reception area for our liking, but that just a vanity thing. Frosted glass on the bottom panels would sort that. the staff were friendly. Thanks we look forward to staying again sometime.
