Wyck Hill House Hotel and Spa, just outside Stow on the wold, a hidden treasure in the Cotswolds. This delightful hotel boasts great views, it is quiet and peaceful. We stayed in the Coach house, very good size room with ensuite. Add to great food at a reasonable price and you have all the ingredients for a great weekend. Highly recommended

Very enjoyable & relaxing setting, lovely old mansion house - sat by the fire with a relaxing glass of wine after a very enjoyable meal - food & service were excellent! Our room was in the main house but in the attached annexe, we were totally impressed with the size and the fact that it had quite obviously just been re-furbished - couldnt find fault with anything

I stayed in a twin room which had ample room and comfortable beds. The primary reason for this not getting the full five stars is that there was a lack of attention to detail when cleaning the bathroom, specifically the shower was not cleaned and the sealant needed replacing. The bathroom itself was very large, and the shower was rather small for no real reason. I was also unfortunate enough to find out that the shower wasn't particularly warm, despite being the first person to use it. With regards to the restaurant and bar, these were both very good, as was the log fire.

A stunning old manor house style hotel. Raging Log Fires in the Reception area and Bar, lovely and warm in the winter. We stayed in the Coach House a Room, which were large, comfy and warm, with a large comfy bed. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. Have also stayed previously in the Garden Rooms in the actual hotel, these are also large and comfy.

This is a splendid hotel full of character in a wonderful setting The staff were very friendly efficient and helpful. The food was to a very high standard served by smart uniformed waiters. I must adhere to a strict gluten free diet and the staff were extremely knowledgeable and nothing was any problem. ( I can certainly recommend this to any people with Coeliac Disease ) . Some of the reviews for this hotel comment on the decor and general condition but this adds to its character as it is an old country house hotel. Our room was very clean and fully equipped with all you need. This is an excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds.

The location of the hotel is lovely, very quiet and we very much enjoyed our stay. On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and we were given the key to our room slightly early. Our room was in the courtyard which is a very cute area to stay. The room/suite was huge with four large windows to let in lots of light. The room was bigger than anywhere I have ever stayed before and felt very grand. We had a nice selection of teas and bottled water in our room with biscuits. The bathroom was very clean with 2 nice large sinks. The bath was a little tired with some of the white enamel coming off and the tiling near the showers area a little dirty (this is my only criticism). After arriving, we had a lovely afternoon tea for one (this was enough for both of us at that time). Dinner and breakfast times the staff could not do more for us and we felt thoroughly spoilt. Food was beautiful and presented so well. The staff should be proud of themselves. We enjoyed using the spa but did not have any treatments but had a go in the steam room which was very nice and hot, i would have loved to have added a eucalyptus scent in there! Shame there is no hot tub as we would have loved that too. The relaxation room was a nice area to spend some time in and chill out. Altogether a lovely place to stay!

We booked for two nights with Secret Escapes and were impressed with the hotel. The building is lovely with lots of charm. Lots of parking and lovely grounds. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who was very helpful. We had a really big room that was comfortable and well-equipped with plenty of storage, hangers, decent tea/coffee and toiletries. Big bathroom with double sink. The room was clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. We got rather hot in the night but we think we got the settings on the radiators wrong. The room was at the end of the extension but it was quiet and we weren't concerned about not being in the main house. Our only issue was that the tele was tiny for such a large room so was hard to see! We both used the spa (complimentary treatments were included in our booking) and were impressed. The staff are lovely and it's a nice area - it is a shame there is no pool though. It was relaxing though. Dinner was included for both nights and was really good. Added touches of a some nibbles, bread rolls and a small soup really made an impact. We were lucky because the menu was different both nights because it changed to their autumn menu when we were there. Both nights we thought there was a good choice, the food was delicious and the staff really lovely. The portions aren't huge but are filling and they don't rush you. Really nice atmosphere. Breakfast was good with a selection of cereals, fresh fruit salad and a fry up. Again, portions were good but not overwhelming and the food was tasty. The views from the conservatory are lovely. The bar area is cosy with a few different rooms and a fire and there is lots of choice. Bar staff again were lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and felt very relaxed and comfortable. We'd definitely go back and would recommend it. It's in a great location for the surrounding villages.

I was looking forward to visiting the hotel spa, but when I got there I was told there is no pool or Jacuzzi. How can a hotel call themselves a Spa with a steam room, Sauna and treatments on offer? Rather mislead by the information at booking, I would have preferred to have gone to a REAL Spa with a Pool and Jacuzzi! However, the treatment we both had with the price, was very good. Very much like an Indian Head massage with Reiki thrown in for good measures. Besides the Spa, the hotel is beautiful downstairs, the rooms look great on first glance, but as the night wore on, I could see our room could do with an updating. It is disappointing when you expect to visit a 5 star hotel and only get a 3 star standard in the bedrooms. The shower was the most difficult to use and get working. I'd booked this through Secret Escapes, it was for a Garden Bedroom, which we didn't get, we got a Car Park Bedroom! It was suppose to have seating outside (although its winter, most probably wouldn't have used it) But we'd paid for it, and we didn't get it. The dinner was an experience, and it was a good experience. It was the highlight of our stay. I am allergic to certain foods, and ahead before I'd paid for the night trip, I had specified this. The Chef was ready for me when we got to the dining room. The Aperitif they give you between your bread roll and your starter, is actually free, it is a small Thank you from the hotel, for using their facilities. Nice gesture for sure, but when I looked at everyone's soups, which had garlic in.. they were in an Expresso cup. We came off better, we had a beautiful plate of beetroot and leaves on a slate serving dish. Looked amazing! I'd ordered the Fillet of Beef, there is an extra charge for some meals, £5.95 and this was one of them. Although our meal had already been paid for on our voucher, I had to pay more for this meal. I half expected an oxo cube of meat, which one of the other hotels I've used in the past, has tried to ply me with. But no! It was a decent size fillet of steak, I would put it at most probably at a 6oz steak, as they do shrink when cooked. Cooked to a TEEE!!!! Beautiful and tender, and the whole meal was fantastic. My partner had ordered the Chicken meal but they were out of Chicken so he also had the steak fillet as I'd ordered. He said it was a great meal too. Desert was lovely, although it could've been bigger. Then we took Coffee in the bar, which was a lovely room and enjoyed the rest of the evening there. I enjoyed our stay at Wyck house hotel and spa, because the dining experience was amazing and the Chef was ready so he could cook us our food without any garlic or onions in the area. Breakfast the next day was generous too. I enjoy a good help yourself table of goodies. But not wanting to do overkill, I went for the Scotch Porridge oats, and got quite a decent portion, Lots of things to put on it, from the table., I enjoyed breakfast and my partner was pleased with his. The only complaint about breakfast, was the COFFEE, it tasted burnt and stale. The hotel is out in the sticks, off a main road, you cant hear traffic though. The parking is very good, you can park right outside the door, or you can park in the car park nearby. There is also a concierge service, which I used, but they don't expect a tip afterwards. Reception was very good when I arrived, but it would have been better if it was signed up in the doorway, with an arrow. Because it is in the middle of the building, not at the front door. The Receptionists were very quick and helpful. At the end of the stay, I checked the bill for extras we'd had, it was a modest price and NO SERVICE OR CHARITY charge on top without your permission, as some hotels are notorious for doing,. I thank the company for that, it makes them a very trustworthy company to buy from in the future.

Very imposing hotel, the sort you would choose Golfing or Riding no doubt, lovely period charm, great staff & service. By the time we reached our room (long corridor walk) it was very spacious indeed, great bathroom, TV, refreshments, great view of grounds and countryside and such a comfortable bed. Very enjoyable stay, good breakfast & fabulous reception area, period restaurants etc. Would stay again, be great for a Wedding.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay which was wonderful. The hotel and grounds and stunning and food and staff are also amazing! Would highly recommend! The rooms were a little tired but other than that it is fantastic!
