This was a hotel I booked a room in for my daughters wedding, and I must admit I had my doubts at first, but the staff were excellent and helpfull, the rooms were very nice indeed, The marque was well received by all the guests and suprisingly it was very nice all round. and if you wanted it was very close to the centre of gloucester.

Hotel lovely, staff very polite, room was clean and nice shower. The food was good value - good taste/presentation. Only negative feedback we have is the shortage of staff manning the reception or bar area. When we first arrived we had to go and find some one and again find some one when we went to use the bar. The hotel is going through with a refurbishment at the moment which hopefully means the pot holes on the drive are filled in. Lovely hotel with a lovely couple of open fires for a winter break!!

I took my wife to this venue for her birthday we wined, dined, and stayed at this lovely little gem. Though be is old dated it still had the lovable character about it. On arrival very bumpy to the car park. Reception nice greeting but no the best. Our room comfortable and dated or a bit tired. The old Jacuzzi still worked a treat. Our restaurant experience was good service and food divine. The staff could not do enough for you which was nice to be special even for the evening. The night was quiet and private. Breakfast buffet continental style then there is a cooked breakfast menu. Again nice friendly service. Our host on the night in chatting we found that the hotel will be going under refurbishment. The restaurant was being done whilst we were there but the reception will be brought in to the hotel to avoid a blockage by the door. The bedrooms are being done too.Just hope they still have a Jacuzzi. We look forward to coming back to a refreshed hotel.

Stayed 3 nights with Christmas package. Tip - superior room number 27 is by the wing’s accommodation entrance so was noisy at night with inconsiderate guests. Bed rather soft but room and bathroom very clean and comfortably spacious. We had a good time but improvements are needed. Only one Receptionist so had to wait a while upon arrival. Bar in lounge not always attended so often had to wait or ask for service. However, when on duty Thomas looked after us very well. Food for Christmas Eve buffet was messy (no staff replenishing or tidying platters). Christmas Day lunch was a huge disappointment - waited one hour and ten minutes from finishing our starter to being served main course and when it finally arrived it looked like the food had been thrown on the plate with roast potatoes the size of tennis balls and the whole plate smothered in gravy. Panacotta dessert was solid and dried out by the time it arrived; this was despite having to chose our meal options and sit-down time over a week before arrival. The manager gave us our bottle of wine free but had we been there just for a Xmas lunch booking, we would have refused to pay. Had to ask repeatedly for ice and bread rolls in restaurant and shampoo not replenished in room. Woke up to six inches of snow on the morning of 27th and when most guests were departing but no staff readily available to grit or clear the steps, path or steep driveway. Considering most guests were elderly this was very bad management. Only the chef came out to assist a stranded vehicle after the owner asked for help. Main hotel areas rather tired but we understand is being refurbished in January 2017. Lovely location, staff very friendly and courteous but Management and lack of resources let’s it down. Could be fabulous given more attention to detail; hence 'average' score on this review.

Booked for a two night stay but had to cut short the trip after eating in the restaurant and being extremely sick afterwards, such a shame as the hotel is beautiful, our room was superb, cosy warm and very comfortable. I have to add that I was very disappointed with the customer service, when we checked out we explained that I had been very sick immediately after eating in the restaurant but was told we still had to pay for the night that we weren't staying because it was classed as a cancellation, not the sort of treatment I would of expected from a hotel of this quality

Just returned from a really disappointing afternoon tea. Firstly sat in a cold room where the noise of building work disturbed us the whole time. We asked to move & told there was no space, even though there was plenty of space. The service was appalling, in fact no one actually served us, we had to find people in the kitchen for anything we wanted. We asked for a bottle of prosecco, there wasn’t any available! Then we went to the bar for another drink & we had been told someone would be with us soon, waited for 15 minutes & no one came to serve us so we left! It was meant to be a nice 40th day out and it was really disappointing!

We visited here for the festive afternoon tea. The location is beautiful and certainly has a wow factor. We were fortunately able to sit out the back with views of the grounds. The afternoon tea was a good portion and did not leave you uncomfortably stuffed. Scones on the small side compared to others I’ve been to but would not have wanted much more. Unfortunately we were sat under a ceiling heater and this made us on one side of the table uncomfortably hot and made us feel quite sick so we asked to turn it down, this was turned down but was still unbearably hot. Swapped sides of the table and were very cold so can understand why it is needed on so hot to heat up the rest of the room ...but completely unrealistic for people to sit comfortably underneath it. When mentioning it was still hot the member of staff dismissed it saying “that’s strange I’ve turned it down to 19” which I found quite rude. There were pictures being take by a photographer and we were not made aware and given a few of us are quite camera shy made us feel quite on edge throughout the meal. Was also asked to remove coats from backs of chairs to make it look nicer. But maybe I didn’t want the back of my head in a photo!? Overall I would return due to the beautiful setting and can imagine it is mesmerising in summer, maybe when air con is on instead!

Attended new year's eve dinner/party and stayed new year's eve and new year's day night. Food excellent and rooms great. Located in a beautiful setting. Well worth staying there. The new year's eve party menu was excellent and all drinks were included.

Travelled with my partner to the Hatton Court Hotel on a 2 night DB&B package which was extremely good value for money and the location and hospitality was superb. The room was well appointed and had a a jacuzzi bath, the food was excellent albeit the service could have been a little more considerate....But overall highly recommended.

Six of us attended the annual New Years Eve party. Sparking wine on arrival, followed by a five course meal. The food was excellent, the party was held in a marque and all the food was served hot (or cold when it -should be!). The price included an open bar. OK the wine and some of the spirits were not the top brands but more than acceptable. Both the band and disco were excellent. Overall a very nice evening.
