We have just started our stay in Silken Aviles, Oviedo and Gijon.Just two days here at Aviles on the weekend of a festival. That was a surprise and the hotel was busy. Laura was very helpful and tried to accommodate our very early arrival unfortunately only a smoking room was available. Our room was a comfort, lovely silken toiletries, and hard boiled sweets. Fight over the one chocolate. It rained but hotel brolly came in handy. No dinner on Sundays. On Bank holiday Monday had a lovely menu of the day. Excellent starters you get all four, scorpion fish pate was lovely. Downside no communal area found. Thank you Aviles , thank you Silken now on to Oviedo and monument x
The hotel was fine, once we actually found it! It isn't the easiest hotel to find when you're driving although there are a few hotel signs on the road. The reception staff were friendly but our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 4.00 pm. Very comfortable bed and pillows but the towels really need replacing. Very clean. Aircon working but not very efficient.
Good central position in the town. Staff all good English speakers and all very friendly and helpfull. Aircon in room could have been better, otherwise the size and condition of the room was very good.
We stayed at this hotel for a sport event. The location was perfect but the food was not as good as expected. Quality and quantity was poor. The first day breakfast was much better than the second day, I guess because we were less people. Dinner, both nights, was nothing special at all. We had to pay 10€ to keep the bicycles as it's not allow to keep it in the room. The beds are comfy but the rooms are small to be a 4 start hotel. They only allow us to do a late check out at 15h of 2 rooms out of 10, to be able to shower after the competition.
Modern, clean, comfortable. Huge (very comfortable) bed in our end room. Good quality wifi. At 55 euros (via 3rd party website) this is very good value. However, reception does not always appear to be staffed & I was quite seriously scalded by a sudden surge of extremely hot water when showering. The receptionist thanked me for bringing the dangerous water temperature to her attention, but offered nothing else (rather surprisingly/disappointingly). Good location, 5 minutes walk from under-rated old town. AC heated up room very well on a cool wet day, but when we tried to cool the room down again it didn´t function (we had to open a window instead).
Very good customer service, had very good sleep even if could hear few noisy things, no carpets on the floor ...take sleepers with you!!!, great choice of TV channels, slow wifi, comfortable beds with proper duvets... in all very pleasant stay
The most pleasant hotel, lovely rooms, energy and in a good area. Beds are very comfortable, and one can sleep really well here as the hotel is quet. The food is delicious and there is no point or any need to explore other options, especially if you travel on your own. Thank you very much for the lovely stay. The staff is mellow and helpful. I hope to come back.
Staff at front desk spoke English and were helpful. Our toom with two twin beds was small. Beds pushed together so just enough room on each side. Air cond not working properly so opened window but bit noisy on street til 1am. Location ok as it is not a large city so you can walk to most everything but is about 10km to the ocean and beaches. Breakfast 5euro if paid by night before but 7euro if you waited til morning to see what was offered. That is a bit odd in my world of travel. Paid for it anyway but just ok nothing special. Everything clean enough: rooms, beds, stairs, hallways. Just one of those mediocre hotels you'll have difficulty remembering much about some years down the well traveled road.
Was very easy to get to the hotel when driving to Aviles. Great facilities to unload bags and the parking is right below the hotel (15 Euro fee). The center of Aviles is very close and there are many places around for breakfast if you choose not to dine at the hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful, courteous and did everything in their control to make my stay pleasurable. Price is very reasonable. Would definitely stay at this location if ever back in Aviles.
Hotel was in a good location. Close to las Meanas, cafes and shops. Room was on the smaller size compared to USA hotels but adequate. Bathroom was spacious with tub. Safe in room was useful. No mini bar in room. Aviles is usually not hot not even in summer; however, they had a heat wave while I was there and AC was not strong enough. Luckily, there aren't any mosquitos and I was able to keep the window open, and it cools down at night.
