Great hotel, near the beach, near the city. Clean, excellent service. New hotel. Very easy to travel, have nice time. Great restaurant in breakfast and dinner. Great view of the sea shore. The reception and all the stuff were very useful.
Very nicely located accross from the beach and close to the center of town, the Abba hotel is a nice place to stay. It offers nice local traditionnal food and nice breakfast buffet. Good service, it is a pity there is no way to get self made hot drink in the room, you have to call room service if you want a hot drink.
The hotel is set in great location and hotel I. Proper hands will be amazing but unfortunately it's not great. Firstly, we came here in mid September, the weather is cold and it's raining so at the very least you would expect some kind of duvet or something! No, here you are given a flat sheet as your duvet!! I was so cold I had to double up the bath towels and use those. The heating was in full high and still it felt like it was blowing cold air! I asked the maid if it was normal to not have duvets and she just looked at me like I was asking if an alien had landed!😡 anyway, I found a blanket in the wardrobe but was so dirty and dusty like it had never seen the light of day and certainly not for use. The toilet toiletries are not renewed so you really have to make it known that the soap on wall is finished by remaining the whole thing and putting in the sink. What annoy d me the most was that they don't have a simple kettle and tea and coffee in the room. Paid £600 for 6 nights and at the very least could provide this! Not happy. We didn't have the breakfast so was just the room... little things matter...
We came here in May and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The toiletries are of good quality. The only bizarre thing is the body wash, its attached to the wall. We didn't opt for the breakfast but had dinner on last day which was nice. They have a roof top bar/restaurant which allow some you to see the town however it does get windy so depends on which month you go. The town itself is very nice with lots of amazing eateries. Staff are friendly. We had cocktails in the bar made by Sandra who was very lovely and super helpful. Highly recommend.
Great location, just next to the ocean. Chose the ocean view rooms, the view worth it. I had a full pension and the food was great. Nice, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Everything clean and cozy. The situation is right in the middle of everything. All the bars and restaurantes are close. I have rented the bike right in the hotel and saw all the sightseengs with pleasure. The swimming pool was closed because of the season, so can't say anything about it. I had a business trip, but for a vacation i can also recommend it.
I recently stayed here on a one week road trip of Spain. The location of the hotel is pretty good, it's near lots of cafes and bars. Lots of underground parking. The large double bed was fabulous. The hotel is really clean, good wifi too. Nice rooftop bar but the drinks are a bit on the pricey side compared to local bars. I used the gym, it's very small but I was happy to get a workout in. I also think they could do with getting some kettlebells for the gym, that would be helpful! Sadly I didn't get to use the hot tub, as I didn't have time. Perfectly acceptable hotel, but nothing out of this world if I'm honest. We had planned to stay in Gijon three nights but cut our trip short by one night as we found that there wasn't as much to do in Gijon as we had liked. Nothing else to report!
Fantastic location on beachfront. Miles of easily accessible promenade for running, walking, or paseo. Dedicated biking lanes with city bicycle rentals. Rooftop terrace and indoor bar with awesome views. Superior service. Full breakfast with All the choices.
We were just passing through and wanted a decent hotel to spend the night and continue our journey, The room is very nice and clean, size and amenities are good great bed and great restful night, they were short of personnel and check in was a bit slow because the receptionist kept reviving calls and she was alone; We did not realize the hotel was right on the beach until the morning, so that is a big deal if you are looking for sun and beach; Breakfast buffet was well presented and complete, but I mus say that was the most expensive breakfast we paid in Spain 16 Euros per person. Expensive for a 4 star hotel. good free internet.
We chose this hotel because of the location and the facilities, we were looking forward to relaxing and sunbathing around the pool but it wasn't open! We were told it would be open in 21 days time when it would be 'summer'? Our second disappointment was when we went onto the roof terrace - which according to the photos on the website is a fabulous area to enjoy drinks - again this area wasn't open, in fact it was clearly undergoing renovations as there were tools everywhere, a notice at the bottom of the stairs saying closed would have helped, it remained closed for the duration of our stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, most spoke enough English and the food was good. The buffet breakfast was varied and plentiful. The waiter in the first floor bar was a trainee and quite slow (not his fault) he clearly needed assistance as he was expected to do everything, serve and wait on tables, clear tables and take food orders. Unfortunately whilst he was doing all of these things customers were left waiting for an unacceptable length of time, on one occasion we left as no-one came to serve us despite us ringing the call bell several times.
It is a very modern and well located hotel. You can enjoy some drinks on the roof terasse and overlook the whole beach. The restaurant is also very good (reasonable pricing), but I would really recommend to eat in a Tappas bar in the old town.
