This is going to be a very short and simple review. Nice hotel, The A/C in the room sounded like a 747. I had to shut it off in order to get some sleep. Likewise make sure you save $20 bucks to eat breakfast next door at Cracker Barrel. The breakfast buffet is the worst I have ever experienced at an Marriott branch hotel. They had no eggs, orange or apple juice, pastries, fruit, coffee tasted like brown water, waffle maker was broken. Although they did have one yogurt, not one type of yogurt I mean one yogurt. When I ask the front desk clerk if they were going to restock the breakfast bar, he said that's all they had. Really and for this I paid $150 dollars a night? I wrote the GM Sarh Giberson ( and got no reply. Save your money there are other hotels for much less that give you much more. And yes I am a Platinum Marriott Member with over 100 stays at Marriott's this year alone. And this was the worst PERIOD.

I am a Marriott gold member and former Marriott employee and this is the second time I’ve stayed at this Fairfield Inn, and it will be my last. If you are used to Marriotts quality and friendly staff you will not find it here. As I left this morning only one very nice housekeeping staff even said good morning. The front desk staff sitting in there chairs could not be bothered to get up and greet a guest. They could not even bother to tell me the elevator was broken. This was the same affective behavior I received on our last visit, but we decided to give them another chance. I am now hoping a call to Marriott will wake up the management team about the issues at this property.

Think this Fairfield in decline again. Have stayed in this facility 3 or 4 times per year for 20 years and have seen rise & fall, change of ownership, multiple managers and two renovations. Last weekend, at check in desk agent checked my wife into Room 306 even after mentioning that the AC was loud/noisy. It cycles constantly and noise is real. While at the desk, a second traveler reported a non-working toilet; and a third traveler reported that the assigned room had not been cleaned. There was no fresh fruit either Saturday or Sunday morning on the breakfast bar. There was a bowl and spoon with some liquid substance left in the stairwell the entire stay. Security may be an issue also, as my wife returned to the room to find the door left open on the security bar. When talking to the desk agent, they denied any knowledge of the situation and said my wife must have left the door open. This is a very central location for our visits to Chambersburg and the surrounding area. Hope this trend does not continue. May need Corporate attention and a site visit. Have noticed the need for desk agent training - greeting, courtesy, knowledge of Marriott member standing, etc during lat two visits. T-shirt uniforms may need to be upgraded. Still no Life Cycle bicycle in Fitness Center after a number of years and repeated request to management to add one.

I am a long time Marriott client, first time Fairfield Inn visitor. After an arduous drive was nice to fine the FI directly abeam very busy I 81. Front desk check in was prompt and professional. We had a problem with the air conditioner and Front Desk fixed it by assigning a new room immediately. The room was quite clean, hallways too. I did not expect luxurious accouterments; what FI has is fine for a short stay. The location is great; abeam a few plain restaurants; far enough I 81 traffic noise is not a factor. Breakfast was simple, the staff member managing the breakfast room a diligent and courteous worker. Marriott has been in the business a few fortnights; why unit air conditioners have to be such decibel machines I do not understand. A stay later in the week at another hotel had Amana machines of similar size that were quiet as a cat. Oh well, engineering, please work on it. Chambersburg Fairfield is staffed by fine people who care for the client. I'd stay here again.

I like Fairfield Inns because I always get what I expect which is a very clean hotel, clean rooms, better than decent breakfast and welcoming staff professional and personable at the same time. They didn't disappoint. Well Done!

This hotel is immaculate. The convenience of it from the highway was wonderful. The staff were very helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions . They are right off the highway but it is unbelievable how quiet it is. I also was told they have an indoor pool. I didn't see it but if it's like the rest of the place it must be great!!

We stayed 2 nights here. One of our rooms tub had not been cleaned prior to our arrival, there was still a used bar if soap in shower. The pool and pool area was cold so we could not enjoy a swim. At breakfast they had gravy but no biscuits either morning as they were waiting for a shipment. Breakfast was not kept stocked the person waited until things were empty to restock so we had to wait hungrily for 12 minutes for eggs. Also there were ants in our room and saw an ant on table at breakfast.

This location supplies any need a traveler might have, easy to find, quick check in ( Sam is pleasant and helpful), clean rooms, lots of stuff nearby ( food, drugstore, gas), comfy beds, quiet, nice breakfast, and for under 100.00 a night. If you need more you're a very picky person. Oh, and try Mario's Italian Restaurant for dinner, yum.

I was passing through Chambersburg and had a nice stay at this Fairfield Inn. Located near many business'. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The also offer are breakfast in the morning

I have stayed at hundreds of Marriott hotels and more than I can remember have been Fairfields. This is an embarrassment to the Marriott name. When we got in the lobby, there was no one at the front desk. After 10 minutes I called the hotel on my cell phone, I could hear the phone ringing and no one answered it. This was not late at night either, it was before 8pm. The front desk clerk came back after us waiting for 20 minutes in a lobby that smelled like smoke. We get to the 3rd floor where the room was, 4 overhead lights in a row were out. It was so dark we had to use the light on our cell phones to see how to put the key in the door. The room was horrible, both rolls of toilet paper were empty (you could see the cardboard). There was a spare on the back of the toilet. It looked like the room had not been dusted in a long time. In the morning we noticed that there was black mold on the shower curtain and around the tub. I took pictures of all of this and finally got hold of someone at Marriott Corporate and sent the details to them. It is no wonder the parking lot had only a couple of cars in it. BTW... Bring a cooler because the refrigerator in the lobby with stuff you could buy was not working when we were there.
