I traveled to Geneva from Mumbai and by the time i reached I was exhausted, so much that i was running a high fever. The staff that came to check noticed i was ill got me so meds. I was feeling much better. The staff in general were also very polite and nice. It was a really good stay. One thing i loved was I could see the Geneva fountain from my window.
This hotel in my opinion is one of the most incredible stats I have ever had. The staff is 110 percent and they make you feel so special. They know your name, always ask to help you in any way and do it with a smile. I will go back again with my husband and will take either family or friends with us. The restaurant is fabulous as well.
The hotel is in a great location opposite the lake & close to all of the major attractions & the main business area. The service provided by all members of staff was second to none ... I have never before had the doorman know my name upon arrival! This level of service & attention flowed through the whole visit. I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms & it was delightful ... modern décor with high ceilings & great quality fixtures & fittings. My only (slight) criticism was that the AC was no very effective & I also like fresh air to sleep so I needed to leave the large doors open, & being on the 1st floor right above the busy junction made the nights quite noisy. Not a major issue though & will definitely be back!!
My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel de la Paix, and I can say it was without a doubt the best hotel experience we've ever had! The location is great - right on Lake Geneva, and we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a room with a balcony view of the Lake. While the room and view were fantastic on their own, what really set this stay apart was the service. From the moment we were greeted by name before we had even checked in, the staff consistently did the little things to ensure that we truly felt like valued guests. When our room was cleaned, care was taken to observe our preferences without us ever having to say anything. One night when we picked up dinner and called room service for plates, they also brought a number of sauces (again, without us asking) which we were able to enjoy with our frites. I read another review that mentioned that the staff doesn't cater to you, but conspires with you to make your stay memorable, and I think that is really the perfect description. One night I spoke with the reception staff to let them know we were celebrating our anniversary, and after offering a very genuine congratulations, he arranged to have a special treat waiting for us upon our return from dinner the following night. Later, after a mix-up with a chocolate factory tour we had arranged, the concierge was able to organize a private tour at Philippe Pascoët which ended up being a highlight of our trip. We stayed at several other comparably priced hotels on our trip, but the experience at the Hotel De La Paix far exceeded any of them. Literally the only negative I can think of is that it will be hard for any future trips to live up to the standards set by the Hotel de la Paix.
My husband and I recently stayed at this beautiful hotel over our anniversary. Our newly renovated room on the top floor was stunning. It was also huge, with a large sitting area with a couch and chairs, as well as a balcony with a stunning view of the lake. The bathroom was spacious and the bed was exceedingly comfortable. The restaurant was also fantastic – the signature risotto is worth the hype. Above all else, however, the service was absolutely impeccable. The staff was welcoming and helpful; it felt almost like being a guest in a friend’s home. I have to especially thank Irina, who was just so wonderful to us during our entire stay. I've stayed in many, many hotels, and this is one of these best I've ever experienced. I cannot imagine a more perfect holiday retreat.
Newly renovated with a view of Lake Geneva. The rooms are comfortable, luxurious and well equipped. Close to the city and the main train station. Highly recommended, especially the corner suite. I have no regrets booking this hotel for my stay in Geneva.
Great location by the lake. excellent room with huge comfortable bed. upgraded at no cost to a room with a view to the lake and the Jet d'Eau. A very nice restaurant. The highlight of this hotel is the staff- welcoming and helpful at every hour. the staff would get 6 stars if it was possible. If you can afford it don't settle on anything less
This is my second TripAdvisor review. Last time I wrote because a facility in Panama about which my expectations were high failed to satisfy. This time I write because the world should experience Hotel de la Paix. This is a charming, old but renewed hotel in the heart of Geneva, overlooking the lake and with easy access to everything. The rooms are reasonably spacious for European hotels, spotless and a cozy place to spend time if the weather isn't cooperating. For those seeking a view of the lake you would do best to pick a room on each floor in the number range of 103-106 (202-206, etc.). I was in 403 and you could step onto the tiny balcony to take in a view of the lake, the fountain, . . . . The restaurant in the hotel is very good -- they serve a risotto the final step of which is to infuse Gruyere (?) cheese by mixing the hot risotto in a bowl carved out in a round of cheese. This is what risotto should taste like. The warm, luxurious feel of the hotel itself is only exceeded by the staff who, to a person (as far as I met), are charming, warm, helpful in every way possible and knowledgeable. The general manager, Guillaume, exudes a spirit of friendly, sophisticated service and management that seems infectious. The staff with whom I interacted most frequently included Cheikh, Irina, Pierre, Michael, Bharar (I hope I didn't misspell it) and Heni and I would happily go to any place where they worked. One experience to share: I was looking for activities when I wasn't working and Pierre, the restaurant and bar manager, recommended La Pinte des Mossettes, a restaurant where he'd worked previously. It is roughly 1.5 - 2 hours from the hotel but the drive along the lake and then into the mountains is beautiful (except for the traffic). Pierre made it difficult to reject his suggestion -- including calling the chef to assure my reservation -- so I went. La Pinte des Mossettes (about which I will write separately) is a 2017 Michelin star restaurant that is more culinary experience than mere restaurant set in the "hills" from which you can view the Alps, including Mont Blanc in the distance. If there was a single highlight of my stay, this was it.
It's hard to impress me these days, I travel a lot for work which has had a negative impact on my sense of travel wonder. I'm already 95 nights deep in hotels for the year and even the luxury hotels leave me wishing to be home. I can't say the same of Hotel De La Paix and am already wanting to return. The hotel not only has a great location, it IS a great location. The food is amazing, the renovations are gorgeous but the people are even better. It is hard to describe exactly what makes the staff so exceptional but I'll try...friendly staff is great, but not particularly unexpected. Imagine instead a staff that seems to really like their jobs, enjoy working with each other and wants to make your stay great. However, they're not catering TO you which can be uncomfortable and awkward, they're conspiring WITH you to make your stay perfect. Everyone we met was absolutely lovely but special thanks to our biggest co-conspirators: Antonin, Clement, and Yulia. Each of them added something special to our stay and it wouldn't have been the same without them. Can't wait to return.
The only bad thing I can say about our stay was that it was too short! The hotel was beautiful and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite which was perfect for our family. The views from our room were spectacular! We had dinner there and it was delicious. Every employee we encountered was so friendly and helpful -- even to the chocolatier in the lobby of the hotel. Highly recommend it!!
