Super 8 Gardnerville Topaz Lake

Way better than the reputation of a Super 8 being kinda on the cheap side...Nice, clean rooms in a great location. It's also great to be attached to the casino with the bar and restaurants

This hotel has a great staff, very helpful. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. The seals around the entrance doors need to be replaced as the cold wind just whipped into the room. The heater was quiet and kept the room warm.

We went as a business trip for my husband but it was also a family trip. The internet does not work ever. We never had any cell service there also. The food in the only restaurant there was not good. Rooms are average. Nothing special but it was fine. Our toilet kept clogging and they finally brought us a plunger. People were very nice and helpful! Beautiful view of the lake as well. Not much to do there but you can drive into town about 20 miles north and there's restaurants, laundromat, Wal mart etc.

The service was perfect since the moment we got to the hotel. Very polite receptionist that gave us a few free drinks coupons for the casino, other with breakfast discount. Same with the rest of the staff on Casino and restaurant, they were all very polite. Room is good for the price, simple but comfortable.

I got all set to sleep in the bed farthest from the door, laid down and EE-OO, EE-OO each breath made the bed squeak. I slept in the other bed without a problem. The morning of my last day I noticed that the toilet tank was running. I took off the tank cover and found that the end of the flush bar had broken off and the chain was under the flap causing it to drain. I pulled up the chain to stop the leak, brought the broken piece to the front desk and I asked them to please fix it after I leave, and that I would flush it by hand until I leave, so I would not be interrupted by a worker fixing it, but that they should not put the next guest in until it is fixed. I did not tell them about the EE-OO squeaky bed; maybe you can tell them about it. The wifi connection worked fine in the lodge, but the not in the room, and ATT cell service did not function in this area, so I used the room's land line once. I used the wifi in the lodge to use Facebook Messenger voice call to talk to my wife a couple times which was a new technological leap for me, as I had never used it before, so it was educational to be there.

The Topaz Lake Lodge is a great place for a get away. No City, no traffic, no crowds. They have several restaurants in the casino with the price level you want, and great choices. The on site store has anything you would need and you walk to it. You can bring bikes, ATV's, motor cycles for all the BLM trails around the resort. And the lake is the only one I have seen that has Rainbow, Brown, and Cutthroat trout in it. If you like the outdoors this is a great choice - with a really friendly staff. And no "Smoke Free" rules - both smokers and non smokers can get a room - they have three different buildings and all rooms have big windows. So everyone is welcome here.

Description: comfortable motel and casino Reception:friendly Room size: sufficient Bathroom: average Hygiene: more or less clean Location: nicelely located on a picturesque lake 30 min from Lake Tahoe Value for money: good value Score (1=poor;10=extraordinary) 8

I can't say enough good things about a budget friendly motel. The room was clean and comfortable. Your basic room, yet it came with a view of the lake. Your stay includes continental breakfast which s available in the main coffee shop with more outstanding views of the lake. The breakfast was fine toast, bagels, make yr own waffles, fruit, yogurt and coffee and juice. But for 5.99 you can get steak and eggs. I didn't but the locals swear by it. Back to the room. It is old so the walls could be a bit quieter, aside from that, would stay again. Daniel the main manager when we checked in after 2 a.m. Was friendly and helpful. This is a five star rated budget motel.

This was a good room for a one night stay. It was clean, warm and quiet. The TV didn't have much, the WiFi went in and out, and I was hoping for a microwave but there wasn't one. The coffee pot was ok too. It was a decent room for a fair price. I did not eat or look at the offered breakfast so I can't review it.

Overlooking Topaz Lake from a higher elevation makes this one of our top stopovers each year. The rooms are always clean, linens smell fresh & the staff is courteous & helpful. We have stayed in so-called four star motels that don't meet these standards.
