Hôtel Kyriad Nîmes Centre

Very small rooms, with view into the neighbor's living rooms. The elevator did not work (room on third floor). I reserved parking 3 month in advance, yet they did not keep a space for me; it took a lot of arguing to finally get a place to park my car. Quiet street, but close to the center - about 5 minutes walk. Overall a reasonable choice for the budget oriented tourist who is willing to put up with some frustrations.

This morning my friend and I arrived at Kyriad hotel where we were told our reservation was cancelled by Expedia. Expedia didn't book another hotel for us so we had nowhere to stay for the night. When the staff of Kyriad heard this they "improvised" a room for us by putting two comfy beds in the second breakfast room for only €20 in total and we also got a free shower. Not only did Kyriad make sure we had a place to stay, they also take very good care of us by allowing us to charge our phones and giving us drinks and snacks for free. A lot of luxury and comfort for such a low price is absolutely amazing and is one of the reasons I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is lovely and most of them speak English which makes everything a lot easier for non-French speaking tourists. Long story short: comfortable, clean hotel with an outstanding staff who care about their guests.

We booked with Expedia. We came here in Kyriad and expedia cancelled our hotel. Stress came in. Kyriad was overbooked but Expedia made the mistake. This hotel has the best service I have ever known. We got a room, normally for breakfast but we could take it one night. They let us shower, eat, drink and made a special room for us. Thanks to Kyriad we could stay here. Absolutely amazing and we are really happy!

Even though we had a room with a balcony on the top floor which is in need of renovation, it was convenient enough for our short stay. The staff members were very helpful and pointed us to one of the nicest restaurants in Nîmes. Their underground and secured car park is an absolute plus, although you do need some manoeuvring skills. Anyway, the hotel is strategically located a short walk away from all interesting sites.

I spent one night here in order to visit some of the sights of Nîmes. Easy to get to from the Autoroute, and because we came by car the parking garage was a big bonus. Staff very welcoming and helpful on arrival and departure. The breakfast was good and copious by the standards of such hotels. The location close to the town centre and my overall experience mean that I'd certainly use this hotel again.

I went to Nîmes with my Mum for 3 days and 2 nights in October. The hotel is in a great location: 5 minute walk from the train station, and less than 5 minutes from the city centre. The street where it is situated isn't too busy, however, despite it being late October, it was very warm. There was no air conditioning in the room and we had to keep the window slightly open; we were on the ground floor, next to the road. The room itself was very small, and so 2 nights was definitely enough. Friendly staff at reception, merci!

We arrived in Nimes with a reservation at another hotel. This other hotel which I intend to review with no circles, if possible. Due to the massive street work going on there, it was very difficult driving and getting to a hotel. We stopped by the Kyriad for help finding the original hotel. Julian was amazing in assisting us in finding the other hotel, calling them and telling us we should stick with the other place since we had a reservation. We tried our very best to park the car and get to the other place. Not only was it impossible, they were NASTY. We finally decided to stay at the Kyriad. Now for the room and service. The room was great for the 2 nights we stayed. We had a balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the rooftops of Nimes. In addition to Julian, Margot (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was equally as accommodating. There another staff member whose name I do not know was also fantastic. Sine parking is such a problem in Nimes, their garage was very convenient. The location was fabulous. We walked to everything including to one of the best meals we had in France. There is no shortage of good restaurants in the vicinity within walking distance.

The hotel is situated within a 10 minute walk of the train station and is close to the old town so is convenient for sight seeing. However, I'm not sure how the hotel achieved its 3* rating as our ground floor bedroom was extremely small with nowhere to store suitcases and had very limited hanging space. The bathroom appeared to be bigger than the bedroom! It was just as well that we were only there for a couple of nights. There were tea and coffee making facilities but not much else - no mini bar or room safe. The receptionist took our valuables to put in the hotel safe in a very casual manner - no receipt was offered - and we wondered whether we would see them again! The breakfast was good, however, and a supermarket a few minutes away provided us with essentials. Having stayed at other Kyriad hotels I do not feel that this one is up to their usual standard.

We stopped in nimes on our way to toulouse. This was a one night stop and it was a good thing. The hotel itself is ok, clean, we chose it in part for the indoor parking, staff is very nice. It is walking distance to arenes de nimes which you have to check out. The hotel room was extremely small and dull. No desk, just a small counter. The bathroom was also small of course but the shower was so tight that we would hit the water fawcett everytime we d turn in it shutting it or changing the heat. There wwas no toilet paper roll but a dispenser... one sheet at a time. It smelled exhaust all night, which was probably because of the motorcycles we heard until early in the morning....Elevator is pretty small too, we could barely fit with our 2 suitcases. We had a twin room, maybe the double or king rooms are better.

So it has wifi, flat screen TV and coffee making facilities. Presumably that is why this hotel has 3 stars because it is without doubt the most dingy uninviting hotel I have stayed in for many years. It reminded me of bad student digs. The first room we were offered had a ripped lamp shade, broken door lock, parts missing from the shower enclosure, access door to plumbing just laying on the floor, a painted headboard which was badly chipped - as was most of the rest of the paintwork. The 'desk' was a shelf made from an old bit of wood barely hanging on the wall but nailed back in a different position with no making good or decorating. The hanging space looked like it had been made by someone who failed GCSE woodwork. This small room was described as superior. I complained and was given a different room. It was slightly better. Broken shower screen but at least they had invested in IKEA shelf supports. Somebody had painted the ceiling and got the white paint all over the walls - and it was just left there. There is a great looking photo on the web site of breakfast on the balcony. This room had a balcony. The reason it is a great photo is because it just shows the top of the table and the food - not the balcony. I have posted a photo of our balcony. Dirty, broken tiles, weeds - this is not shabby chic - just shabby. Good points - location and some secure car parking In a litter strewn basement. Breakfast just about OK but if they neglect a hotel like this hate to think what the kitchens were like..... Booked this at short notice mainly for its location. Never stayed in a Kyriad before but if this is the sort of pride they have in their establishments will not be saying in one again. The hotel photographer earned his money. Made a silk purse out of a sows ear. Made a grubby badly neglected hotel look like a three star establishment. I would be ashamed if I owned this.
