Room was ok, but there is a Night Club at 2nd floor. I like to sleep at night and will choose another hotel next time. Breakfast was probably good, but was hard to enjoy with only 3 hrs sleep during the night.
We were just in that hotel for a stopover, but I was impressed. First of all, even though we arrived past restaurant hours. They have a 24 hour cafeteria with a glass display full of sweet and hearty "temptations". That's a really wonderful detail that I think very fewother hotels offer. My room was great, the mattress fluffy like a cloud. The room was modern-basic and made me wish I were staying even longer than one night. I loved the breakfast buffet. The Swedish meatballs and the herring were to die for! Good scrambled eggs, perfect pancakes... The Wi-Fi was free, consistent, and strong. I thought the English-speaking stuff very jovial and welcoming. Over all it was a great experience.
The hotel is an old hotel which has had a facelift, I first stayed here about 20 years ago. Not much has changed, the rooms are standard Scandinavian, though no hair dryer. Bar and restaurant pretty plastic and expensive. Hotel clean and comfortable but expensive, staff charming.
The modern hotel is very clean and comfortable and has a good range of facilities. There is a hot tub and swimming pool on the roof although we didn't use them and a hairdresser. The breakfast has a great variety and the restaurant manager found us a table although they were fully booked on the Friday night. The food was fabulous. The bedroom was large but the shower room is tiny so only one can be in there at a time. No problems with the Wi-fi.
Stayed there for 3 days in July 2016. Was pretty tired and slept most of the time. But the people at the reception were nice enough to help me whenever needed. I had a room on the ground floor, with a parking lot just outside. Was a bit weird seeing people park their car 2 meters away from the window. But I wouldn't call than an issue. I recommend the breakfast. Just everything you want and need. Really good selection of bread and cereal ;) The hotel is centrally located. Just across the road from the train station. 5min away from the shopping areas.
If you arrive with train this hotel has the best location possible in Gällivare. It is a surprisingly big hotel, given that Gällivare is a rather small municipality. The breakfast was excellent. A little bit annoying with the big TV screens in the dining-room. They had also a nice place where you could drink coffee for free.
Great hotel with outstanding facilities. Poolarea, sauna and fitness all nice, clean and tidy! Saturday night was obviously part night. The music was very loud and there was a party/disco going on. A lot of loud noise in our room (which wasn't even close to the party). We didn't get a normal night of sleep, that was a big dissapointment.
Situated just across the road from the railway station this modern hotel is in a prime location. We found the staff to be efficient and helpful with local directions and our 5th floor room was spacious and modern with plenty of space to put your luggage, a good bathroom with hairdryer and large shower, and bedside tables, always a necessity I find. We would have liked tea and coffee making facilities, however free coffee and tea is available on the ground floor. Another chair to replace the ultra modern leather monstrosity, which is unusable, would have made the room more user friendly. Breakfast is very good, with continental and cooked options. Try the pancakes with maple syrup! We found this to be a very good hotel and we would stay here again.
Recently refurbished hotel right in the center of town. The service is impeccable. All staff are very service-minded. The room is medium standard, but public areas are fine. It also applies to the reception and cafe. A pleasant surprise.
Gällivare is not a gigantic city in Sweden but the hotel they have refurbished is very nice and popular amongst tourists and locals. The staff is friendly and service minded. I struggled a bit with the Wi-Fi and it improved during the stay. The breakfast was good and if you have to leave very early in the morning, they give you a simple, fast breakfast in the reception area. There is a Steakhouse restaurant inside the building that offer very good food. There are not so many choices if you need a place to stay here but you will definetely not do wrong by staying here.
