My young family and I are frequent travelers. From our previous experiences we've learned to pack (over-pack) well, because you never know what you're going to run in to at any given hotel. Our experience with Fairfield Inn, however, was anything but our typical experience! From the friendly and accommodating staff who offered us bottled water every time we passed by the front desk (awesome for formula feeding mommies such as myself!), to the welcome care package for our littles including travel sized Johnson & Johnson bath soap/lotions, and even having a Pack & Play ready for us in our room when we checked in - we couldn't have been more impressed!

Stayed here for a business trip at work and was very comfortable. Short drive to the convention center my conference was at and a comfortable hotel with a friendly staff. I would stay here again.

Very nice > The front desk personnel couldn't have been nicer!

This hotel was wonderful, you could not ask for nicer people who work there.Everyone was friendly & very courteous. The rooms were very clean. It was just a wonderful week-end. We would recommend this hotel highly.

Very helpful and friendly staff, and very accommodating, allowing me to check out late as I had conference calls to finish up. That was very much appreciated.

The location of the hotel was fine for our needs. The continental breakfast in the a.m. is just fine and very convenient. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

The Hotel was good for the price but it was located quite far from where we were. The website that we used said it was 12 miles away but in reality it was more like 24+. Not too big of a deal but still a pain.

The area was real nice and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable although the beds were a little broke down. The breakfast was pretty good with plenty to eat. Overall it was a very nice experience.

Mildew smell on shower curtain, otherwise this hotel was very clean. Continental breakfast was plain scrambled eggs and sausage patties, not impressed. Pool was tiny and only 4 ft deep. No vending or ice except on 1st floor. Had to wait to check in because the employee was talking to her boyfriend in the back. A.m. employees at the counter near the breakfast area were complaining to each other about other lazy employees and using profanity. Uncomfortable situation for guests trying to eat!

The place was quiet, had a pool and hot tub, the breakfast was good with waffles and make your own burritos so one could eat just eggs and sausage. The only negative was that the bed was uncomfortably soft and there was a dirty spot on the curtain, but my curtains at home don't get washed that regularly either.

This hotel does not have a workout room, which is pretty standard at most hotels. This was a disappointment. The hotel was clean, no microwave or mini fridge in the room either, which is also pretty standard for most hotels. I wish I would have stayed at a lesser expensive hotel with more amenities.

Check in staff was very helpful and pleasant .Room was very clean. Beds were very very comfortable. Slept awesome! Housekeeping very nice and friendly the next morning. Older lady that was taking care of breakfast was rude and not very accommodating. Pool and hot tub area kinda small but was fine for us. Overall we would stay again.

Easy check in and the desk representative called us within an hour to make sure our room met our needs. This is valuable to me. Hotel is in a busy area, but a few restaurants are within walking distance. Had a nice pool and spa for kids. Didn't eat breakfast there, so can't provide feedback.

We arrived on Friday and were greeted by a very helpful front desk clerk. On Saturday the Dubuque area lost power for a time. The breakfast bar was left open an extra hour because of the outage. We really appreciated that! The pool was clean and great to use. Overall, we were very happy with the room and the staff.

The hotel was good for the price, nothing fancy though. Room was clean, breakfast was okay (had a waffle maker, but otherwise your basic muffins, cereal, bagels etc...had some microwaveable sandwiches). The staff was nice. Overall, no big complaints.

Clean and convenience shopping mall across the street with plenty of restaurant options Pool areas clean and well maintained

My mom and I took a weekend trip to Dubuque and stayed at this Fairfield Inn. The staff who greeted us were professional and very friendly. They called shortly after we arrived to our room to make sure everything appeared to be up to our standards. Water, coffee and muffins were always available in the lobby. The rooms were overall very clean - above average compared to other hotels... It is still a hotel though, so it had minor cleanliness issues - but these were only things you would notice if you looked extremely close. The beds were made up of sheets with no dirty, overly used bedspreads that never get washed. Each bed had 5 pillows which was definitely a nice touch. The bed was mostly comfortable, maybe slightly on the soft side, but overall very nice. Room had a nice LCD flat screen tv. The first night we thought the tv only had a few channels, but this turned out to be human error on our parts for not first punching in an appropirate channel from the channel list provided. Once we did that, we had a very nice selection of channels. Air conditioner, lights, clock, etc all worked well. The bathroom was a little smaller, but typical for this type of hotel. The shower appeared very clean, had a wonderful shower head, and a curved curtain rod to keep the shower curtain out of your way while showering. Everything in the bathroom was in working order and overall clean - again, about as clean as you're going to get at a hotel. I do enjoy the convenience of a refrigerator and mircrowave in the room, however, this room did not have one - 2 queens. I believe they offer them in some of their higher rate rooms. The breakfast was very impressive. Never too sure what the selection will be like with a continental breakfast, but this one had ample choice. Waffles, toast, english muffins, muffins, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, and grapefruit slices were all available, including milk, 2 types of juices, coffee, and hot chocolate. I may be forgeting a few things, but that mostly covers it. On the weekend, a staff member was servicing the area and was extremely attentive and helpful - she kept the area clean and all food items well stocked. This person was not there on Monday morning though, but most items were still available - it was still nice having that lady around on Sunday though. The location was perfect. We were right by the mall, several restraunts, Target, etc. And the drive to downtown was a short, easy trip. The look of the lobby and our room was crisp, clean, modern, and inviting. Staff throughout our stay were very helpful and friendly. The price paid for our room was comparable or slightly cheaper than other similar hotels in the area. The location was perfect. The breakfast exceeded expecations. Overall, it was a very good stay and we would definitely stay here again if we were to return to the area.

Great staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Only thing that was lacking was the quality of the coffee.

Location was great - very close to everything. The staff was very polite and willing to help with anything. I needed band-aids for my blistered feet and I got them! Our room was clean, but the king size bed was too soft and my husband's back was sore both mornings. I had the better side of the bed and didn't have back issues (which I already have). This is a common problem with hotels, so we weren't surprised. It was manageable. The continental breakfast was typical: the muffins were good and fresh fruit is a plus. We're always glad to have a breakfast included with our room - it's just the right amount for us!

I usually stay at another hotel when I go to Dubuque but that one was booked. I thought I would try the Fairfield. I arrived early and my room was not ready yet, however they let me check in early and gave me the key to the room. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The staff was helpful. My only complaint would be that there weren't enough parking spaces. Overall, I would definitely stay at the Fairfield again.
