Following up on my previous review - we stayed at this locating twice on our trip to South Florida from Virginia. First time was fine with relatively no issues (see previous review for details). Second visit I was immediately met with hostility by the gentleman at the front desk upon check in. We were traveling with our small terrier and the employee immediately insinuated that the hotel did not know this and had not booked us a pet room - he then tried to force me to put down deposit twice what I was quoted. I informed him that I had called and let the hotel know that I was traveling with a pet, and was told the policy was a smallfee + deposit. The employee was incredibly rude (in front of a line of guests waiting to check in that evening) and continued to insinuate that I was a liar. After I asked to speak to a manager he said he was the only one there and immediately de-escalated his behavior and booked us under the terms I had previously arranged with the hotel via phone. All in all needlessly stressful + aggressive. If booking know the pet policy on Orbitz is incorrect, and if you call the hotel get names/times of calls, and follow up again before visiting to confirm. Notes of the hotel itself - A/C very loud (damaged unit, cycled off with a loud thunk throughout the night), book on the 2nd/3rd floor if possible (1st floor facing the pool is actually below pool level so very humid), smoky-smelling hallway (smoking is permitted in some rooms so unavoidable)

Info on orbitz is incorrect - actual pet policy is $10 per night w/ $50 refundable deposit. Hotel charged two pet depots to our card ($100, accidentally I presume) but said they reversed them when we checked out (I assume they realized their error as they didn't even check the room before saying this). Frustrating that the info in orbitz doesn't reflect actual pet policy, nice hotel though - right off 75, far from downtown/Duckpond neighborhood though if that is your scene

....if not for the location, this would not be the nicest hotel I've stayed at. It is an older place but it will provide you with what you need: a bed, shower and toilet that works. No elevator. I was on the third floor and had to climb stairs, a little rough on my sore knees. The staff was informative but hardly friendly or cheerful.

The hotel is old and outdated. The rooms ok but again refs updating from the bathrooms to mattresses. It was just good enough. The breakfast area and food was actually decent. Probably will not stay there again

THERE WERE NO ELEVATORS AND WE WERE ON 3RD FLOOR. WE HAD TO CARRY ALL OF OUR THINGS UP TO OUR ROOM.

Cost was unusually high due to a race creating lots of hotel demand on the area. Otherwise, facilities are nice for usual rate.

Great location just off Archer Rd and I-75 intersection. Price is great, other hotels in that area are more expensive, unless you go to Motel 6. My bed was not comfortable, I don't like those small pillows these motels use, and mattress was not comfortable. Breakfast was okay, but no eggs, but was free so can't complain. Wish they offered free newspaper with the room. I didn't use the wifi so can't comment. Lots of construction workers stayed here when I was here, and saw a young couple with a dog in their room. Check-in was slow I had to wait 15 minutes with only one clerk working. Overall it's okay for a short stay there, good location and clean.

It was a great deal for the price. Staff was very friendly!! Definitely recommend !

I couldn't figure out how to turn on the ac. The lobby had a little funk smell. The room wasn't bad for the price I paid. The cable suck didn't have many channales! The breakfast Sucked only had 2 cereal, toast, bagels and some juice!

Hotel had an unusual smell that detracted from the experience. Staff was good. Local resident indicated that the parking lot was used often for drug deals. Next trip i'll chose another hotel.

No bed bugs. Staff members are polite and the breakfast is great. Would stay again.

We were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean. The location was convenient to restaurants and stores. Overall great experience.

Daughter and I were in town for UF tour. Stayed at Super 8, which is near campus and had everything we needed. Very good value!

Have stayed here three times in the last two years. The reasonable cost allows us the comfort of having two rooms to accommodate our family that include young adult children. The rooms are clean and the building appears to be well maintained (new carpets).

It seems the price of rooms goes up considerably when snowbirds begin their massive Exodus from Florida. This room would cost less than $50 anywhere else at any other time. This was a simple bare bones room, but the people were pleasant and the room was quiet. We never eat the sort of breakfast they provide, so cannot comment on it. Close to freeway exit.

The room reserved was smoking - we had asked for a NON smoking. Entering the room, I gagged on the odor! We opted to upgrade to a room that was non smoking. The hotel itself could use some refurbishing (carpet was worn bare in the hallways). Breakfast was ok, but no eggs or yogurt which we had at a previous stay for a lower price at another hotel!

The room was clean, plus the entrance to the hotel was close to the interstate.

The plugs were hanging out of the wall. The night staff when we checked in was rude. Had to hold my credit card for extra pillows. Morning staff was good. They had a snack machine, but no drink machine.

Nice Clean Room. Convenient location Nice helpful staff. Very uncomfortable beds and no elevator to the 3rd floor. Old hotel needs updating.

As I say in other reviews, I'm not looking for the Ritz Carlton. I want clean, safe, and a working TV, remote, and AC. And spend as little as possible. On a recent 3 week swing in Florida, this motel was the best deal I had. Definitely a notch above the Motel 6 dorm rooms I am used to (and satisfied with).

I am so sorry that your experience was less than satisfactory. I have spoken to the front desk clerk involved and I apologize sincerely for the lack of professionalism. We have replaced the air conditioning unit. We are currently undergoing renovations and hope that you give us another chance in your future travels.

I'm terribly sorry that our front desk staff was not on point. I will coach them on better ways to greet our guests. If we know in advance that you have special requirements that require you to be on the first floor we will try to accommodate you, however our rooms on the first are slightly higher in rate.
