Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach, Golf & Spa Resort5.0 out of 5.0

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and were very happy with our choice. There is not a huge amount to do in Fuerteventura with regards to sightseeing but we were very much in the need to relax and we certainly did. The weather was lovely for an early winter break, 24-25 degrees everyday so we spent all our time relaxing by the pool during the day and venturing out to find somewhere to eat in the nearby town in the evening. We had a lovely junior suite with garden view on the ground floor so could practically roll out of bed and into the pool. We decided on a bed and breakfast basis which suited us fine , but there are some nice places for lunch and dinner in the hotel. We enjoyed the odd drink of an evening whilst listening to the entertainment ( some were better than others !) , which ended the day nicely. Staff were friendly and overall we had a lovely break.
This is a lovely hotel, mostly 5 star just small improvements such as worn table cloths could be replaced, maintenance here and there could be better, glass partition screens on balconies could be improved to provide greater privacy, smoking on balconies should be stopped, karaoke style singers didn't do much for me. But location is great, swimming in the sea is very save and great for snorkelling.
We had a 2 weeks family holiday at this hotel and found many things to praise, but also a few niggles In retrospect these were annoying rather than serious, and will not stop me giving a 5* review.. but I would not consider this to be a true 5 * hotel. Gardens and grounds are wonderful and the buffet food is of good quality, We ate in both the speciality restaurants and again enjoyed the experience.. The hotel is made by the staff, without exception everybody was friendly, helpful and good with children.. A special mention to Carlos and Jose in the restaurant and Ana who was so good with our granddaughter and organised her birthday treats.. Bar prices were reasonable, but presentation and drink portions varied dramatically.. Spirits are served at your seat from the bottle which is a lovely idea but meant that the pour varied from a single to triple.. The children's staff worked really hard, but a better way of advertising what was on and when would have made things less confusing.. It would also have been nice to have seen the complimentary snacks at the Kids parties being a little more healthy.. The main niggles referred to earlier, included that pre-dinner bar service was very varied, often with no waiter service and having to order from the bar,. Again shortage of Staff, but thank you Jose Pablo for always being there when on duty.. AS a group of 6, most nights we ended up moving tables and cutlery ourselves to get a suitable table. Not expected in a 5* restaurant but again down to too few staff available.. The pool bar was great, but again only table/bar service and no way of ordering from your sun bed. The hotel also need to enforce the no shorts in the restaurant and no claiming sun bed rules. On a final positive note, we had a mini suite with sea view which was large, well equipped, with dressing area twin basins and a seperate shower/ bath. The balcony was huge and probably the biggest I have ever had. Once again thank you to all the staff.
We went for a short week break after a busy half-year. The hotel gives you ample opportunity to unwind. The room is spacious, so is the bathroom. The pool is not overcrowded in September. Service of the staff is friendly at the pool. The restaurant offers food in buffet-style. Normally not my thing, but I'll make an exception for this one. Breakfast choices are more than plenty. Dinner at night is great. A large variety of food to choose from. Both hot & cold. Waiters are very friendly and make an effort to recognise you the next days. Although they are busy, they still take the time for a little chit-chat. it looks like they are a team. The hotel also has a spa. I spend a lot of time in hotels every year and when I have the opportunity, I take a massage. But in this hotel the masseurs are so good, I actually took 3 turns. Especially Ms Penelope has a great talent for really attacking sore muscles. All-in-all a very relaxing and unwinding stay. You feel very welcome and an appreciated guest
My mum and I stayed here for a week from 6th November. The staff where brilliant accommodating any request we had to make this holiday very special. Thank you to Eleonora for helping us change room. Thanks to the lovely ladies in the Spa and all the staff at the hotel. We enjoyed a very relaxing break. Regards Rebecca & Margaret.
We stayed here in a delux suite a couple of weeks back. I travel a lot for Work staying in Sheraton’s, intercontinentals, kempliniskis and Marriotts throughout Europe on a weekly basis so I can quickly get a feel of a hotel within 5 minutes of arriving in reception. This is a great hotel. There are a few areas it needs to improve on however. Check in is pretty slow and not very smooth. There are often long queues at busy times and it needs making simpler. We came away not really knowing much but with lots of bits of paper. A map and a quick explanation of where pool, restaurants are would have been better. The whole thing took 30 minutes. After a long flight with two babies we just needed to get to the room and unpack. The rooms and pool areas are lovely, very clean and well maintained. The beds are amazing, as good as Marriott hotel beds and that’s saying something. The children’s pool is perfect, feels safe and all the children seem to love it with all the fountains and slide. The food in this hotel is beautiful. So much choice and really nicely presented. However the restaurant desperately needs more waiters. You sit with dirty plates for a very long time and can’t find anyone if you need anything like extra cutlery. The Staff work very hard but there just isn’t enough of them. Not acceptable in a 5 star hotel. This is also a problem around the pools. I would expect Staff to be offering drinks around the pool throughout the day but there is no one and you have to go to the bar yourself. Not a big deal but not the norm at a 5 star resort. The hotel are loosing money here I feel. We would have spent much more had we been given the chance. As part of our package we received a complimentary meal one evening in either of the two restaurants outside of the dining room. It’s not simple to book it though. They give you a voucher at check in, then you go to guest services who will book it in and then take the voucher back. I didn’t have the voucher with me so they made me go back to the room to get it. Seriously!! Does it need to be made this difficult. Write a note on the system or something. The meal in the Thai was lovely however. The last thing that stuck in my mind was booking a taxi to the airport. The concierge didn’t take our name and as it was a Saturday and several people wanted taxis back to the airport other people kept taking our taxi. It happened 3 times. It almost made us late for check in which was annoying and unnecessary. The Tv is also frustrating. They advertise about 30 channels. However very few actually work. Whilst I’m not on holiday to watch TV once we had put our babies to bed early each we were left staring at a lovely huge TV that we couldn’t actually watch as it only had 1 English Channel. All in all we had a wonderful holiday. It is a good hotel it just has a few niggles that become frustrating. P.S The blonde German lady who is front of house is fabulous. She is such an asset to the hotel.
Just finishing radio therapy after breast cancer I needed a long and comfortable rest. No body knew what I had been thru and I didn't have to explain. The service was impeccable and so personal calling you by your first name but even remembering what your tipple was loved it.
This is our third visit and it didn't disappoint. We had a lovely sea view room. From arrival to departure the hotel staff were very attentive and made our stay a very memorable one. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean in every department. The buffet food was always fresh and well displayed. The staff at this hotel definitely make it a very special place to stay.
We arrived at the Hotel at midday and had requested an early arrival for the room . We were told the room was not ready so we had to wait an hour, an hour passed, then we were told to wait 20 mins, we waited, then were told it wouldn’t e ready until 3.00pm which is the normal check in time . No apology, nothing . We asked to change some money at the reception and was told to go to the Casino down the road to do it ! Eventually we got our room, it was a nice room but the mini bar was pathetic, couple of soft drinks and 2 beers that were hot as the fridge was not working. It took a ridiculous time for anyone to answer the room service or reception and the room service took over 1 hour to arrive, and expensive service charge added. The pool towels were just as bad, no body to give them to you, they’re just in a rack at the restaurant. We ate at the El Faro restaurant one evening and the head waiter or Manager was strange, too many stupid comments that were not funny, just a nuisance. As for the food , not good !! My husband had fish of the day, which was supposed to be fresh, it had quite clearly been frozen and I ordered the veal tenderloin.... it was a fatty, gristly steak ! We are in the restaurant business and know these things. Overall it was disappointing, it quite obviously has staff issues. A real shame as it’s a nice Hotel, in a nice position next to the beach and fairly clean but think it needs a staff shake up, there seemed to be a lot of people not happy at the reception. I wouldn’t go back there again.
Just returned home from a great holiday at this lovely hotel with a group of friends. There is absolutely nothing negative to say. We booked with Jet2 and upgraded to the half board plus option which gave access to one of the al a carte restaurants every night. The standard of food in both restaurants was very good. We only opted for the buffet once but ate breakfast in main restaurant. The standard of food and choices was good but wouldn't have liked to go every night. There is seating outside the restaurant on the terrace. This is very popular and guests were often hovering around the terrace waiting for a table. All the staff were helpful, professional and friendly. Reception staff were knowledgable and always helpful. I have to mention Brahim one of the waiters who worked in the Verandah restaurant during the night and the al a carte at night for providing good service with a smile. Special thanks goes to Blas, the restaurant manager. He was brilliant and which ever restaurant he was in ran very efficiently. We particularly liked his very entertaining sense of humour. Overall one if the best holidays I have had.
