Back again for yet another wonderful week. The hotel provides a lovely quiet relaxing break in the peaceful environment of Jandia. All the high quality continues at this hotel as our previous visit. If you want a holiday in a hotel where the majority of guests are from the UK, this resort & hotel are not for you. New to us this time we tok the all inc package which was outstanding value. The quality of food at lunch was excellent, complete with a bufett & choices from a menu. Unlimited amounts of water bottles are available from the bar, although confusingly the water provided in your room will be charged for if you use it, which was explained to us on check in. The quality of drinks & bar service are excellent. The food supplied must cater for every conceiveabe taste. Evening entertainment was of a higher standard than normal. of particular note were the Abba & Jambo shows. We enjoyed the quiet environment around the pool with no loud music blaring out & the you can walk along the beach for miles.
I have stayed at this hotel before and was happy to return. The environment is well designed , its spacious and very clean with a swimming pool that is warmish ,has enough sun loungers and isn't too far from the bar or dining room! The bedrooms provide excellent space and are spotlessly clean. The staff were always friendly and very helpful. However I would offer one word of warning....we had chosen to go 'fully Inclusive' and was advised by the Reception staff that the only chargeable items in the room was drinks from the fridge, however then we and our friends were charged for the large bottle of water that we used that was by the kettle and tea/coffee items. Also my friends were charged for more than one bottle , which was incorrect and we were charged for an item from the fridge that we hadn't had.....so please be careful and double check your room bill. We did get it sorted so were only charged for what we used, but I was disappointed that we had been told one thing but then were charged for the water. On the fully inclusive you can get water from the bar , so you don't need to use the large bottles left in the room. Yet would I go back to this hotel again , yes I definitely would....the hotel and staff are lovely and the position is very convenient.
We stayed at this hotel October 2016, for two weeks. We hadn't visited the island before but we had a fantastic holiday. The weather was excellent, for the two weeks. The hotel is across the road from a gorgeous sandy beach; which stretches for miles. It also has a great bar on there too; near the lighthouse. Well worth a visit!!. Our only critism of the beach is the nudist bathers. Yes, we were told about them in the brochure but it does say that they stay on the right of the light house. Unfortunately, they don't. Which we found a wee bit off putting; as we go for a walk everyday along the beach. The strip of shops that the hotel sits amongst; is pretty good; I would say. A good mixture, with a Spa Supermarket thrown in & a delicious ice cream parlour/ cake shop/coffee shop very close by. There are also some bars & restaraunts within walking distance. The hotel itself is very modern, deceptive from the front. Very well designed; with its own impressive, entertainment theatre. It was kept extremely clean throughout. The rooms were very nice & well maintained; with a safe deposit & balcony; tea & coffee facilities. The food was geared towards the German guests; who were the majority whilst we were there but we didn't have a problem; with eating. The staff were all very friendly & helpful & the drinks were all branded & cocktails were included. Bonus, we had no problems getting a sunbed!!! Hence, we are returning this October!!! Can't wait.
My wife and I were dissatisfied with our existing hotel in Morro Jable and booked into the Faro for the second half of our holiday. We got an amazing half-board deal, which included a superior room with a sea view. The modern architecture is impressive and our room was spacious with plenty of storage space. The variety of food was excellent and generally of high quality and the price of drinks was very reasonable. The entertainment tended to be mediocre. Overall we were very pleased with this hotel.
I've walked passed this hotel so many times and thought it was an entertainment bar... not realising what it actually is. It is right next to the lighthouse on the main beach in jandia, and there are some bars and shops outside. After walking through reception the pool area is so tranquil and it is like a little piece of heaven. Food was fantastic and had show cooking at every meal. During the day you can order from a desperate menu and everything is cooked fresh to order which we used every day. We went all inclusive and could not fault the place. Can't comment on the entertainment as we were either at the shops or beach every night. Ideal location right in the heart of everything. Highly recommended.
We had been looking forward to staying at this hotel for a long time as friends of ours have visited 3 times now. We have stayed in Jandia previously so knew what to expect and where the hotel is located. We travelled with Thomas Cook and the transfer wasn't too bad, about 90 minutes. Check in was easy and welcoming. I had emailed the hotel previously asking for a quiet room on a high floor but this wasn't acknowledged so wasn't sure what we would get. We were allocated a room on the 3rd floor on arrival which was fine. Very good sized room, plenty of storage, lighting and sockets. Air conditioning was s bit hit and miss, kept turning itself off which woke us up several times a night. Maintenance had a look at it as we had water leaking through ceiling at one point, but it didn't sort the problem. The bathroom was good, disco shower that lit up. Bath felt a bit unsteady, didn't seem to have any support underneath when standing in the shower and your eye is drawn to the vent near the ceiling which has never been dusted ! Slept very well though in comfortable beds, good blackout curtains. Only heard noise in corridor at night once. Thought the two bottles of water by the kettle where complimentary, but we were later left a bill for these. Seems a bit silly to do this when we were all inclusive. We loved the way the hotel has been built into the rocks and all public areas are very attractive. Plenty of seating so you can see the stage from bar as well as entertainment area, a very good layout. All inclusive drinks package is very generous, you are able to have basically anything other than reservas or wine (other than house wine), Wine measures varied a bit, sometimes you got half a glass or sometimes full one, not consistent, bit annoying. Plenty of nuts supplied though ! Service in the bar and restaurant was exceptional, couldn't fault it. Lovely big pool and attractive surroundings. Plenty of sun beds and pool towels supplied. I am a cat lover so liked the cat feeding station, as did most people I think. So nice to have a pool that was so relaxing and quiet, but our stay was outside school holidays so I am sure it does get busier. Breakfasts were very enjoyable, good selection for all tastes, sat outside on the terrace every day as we also did at lunchtime when all inclusive guests to choose anything from the menu, there was also a small buffet supplied in the main restaurant also which was perfect for us. On our first evening we were allocated a table right next to the staff clearing station. We were moved to a nicer table on request, but as the restaurant was very quiet are not sure why they gave us such a rotten table to start with. The salad bar was very good, but often the nicer dishes ran out quickly and weren't replenished. Not so impressed with hot food, have had much better elsewhere. Desserts aren't my thing but there seemed to be plenty, fruit choice wasn't too bad. Table service very efficient. Used the spa once, but weather was too nice to stay inside. Did plenty of walking up and down the promenade from one end to another. Enjoyed feeding the parakeets and chipmunks. Beautiful beach just across the road from the hotel. Overall this is a very well run hotel with excellent service and friendly staff, only let down by its food in the evenings and this is the only reason we probably won't stay here again.
Just returned from a 2 week holiday and this hotel was great. We had booked an upgraded room and it was perfect. The room was spacious and very smart, there was a large balcony overlooking the pool with sun loungers and chairs. The bed was very comfortable with lots of wardrobe and drawer space. The dining room very smart, the dining room staff were all very friendly and efficient especially the chefs doing the show cooking. The food was varied. The fish was particularly good, with a wide variety of fish. There was always a good selection of sweets,. The grounds and pool area were well maintained and there were plenty of sun beds and sun parasols. I really liked the location, the hotel is directly opposite the beach. The reception staff were all friendly and I would like to say a big thank you to Wim for being very helpful. I would rate this hotel as 4 star plus and I strongly recommend this hotel.
This was out 9th time staying here with our 5 year old. We love every thing about the hotel. The staff are really friendly n our boy loved how they high 5 him we stayed over easter n all got an egg left on the beds on easter Sunday. We loved the food n our boy whos a bit picky found food to eat every day.
We paid for a taxi from the airport and it took about an hour each way. Worth it in my opinion if you can afford it, as it is much quicker than the usual coach transfers. Initial thoughts of the location, was disappointment. The hotel is situated in a tacky touristy area, with shops selling the usual beach wear, toys for children etc. It has been written that it is situated next to "designer" shops, but Chanel and Gucci they ain't. However once inside the main doors, the hotel opens up into a cool calm haven away from the area outside. Quick and easy check in with very friendly reception staff, offering a glass of fizz. We arrived early at approx. 11.30am and fully expected to have to leave out bags and wait for our room. Lovely surprise that it was ready, so we made our way to our 5th floor room and was in the pool area at midday ! Lovely room with quiet AC with a fabulous view, the higher floors are to be recommended as there is a fab view of the lighthouse and beach. Lots of storage space in wardrobe, plenty of drawers and plenty of hangers. Black out curtains ensure a reasonable nights sleep. I say reasonable, as we found many of guests come back to their rooms late at night, show little consideration for fellow guests, slamming doors, ladies heels clicking along the corridors and in rooms above and below - all sound here seems to echo around. There seemed to be a club or disco near by with thudding music until about 4.00am, certainly on a Thursday night. Our double bed was two singles pushed together, which was not too much of a problem. The bed was comfortable enough though. The main gripe for the room, was the fact that we had to pay for the safe. For the amount that this hotel costs, we feel that the safe should be free. Other hotels we have stayed at, have left complementary water and perhaps fruit in the room, but there was nothing here. Sometimes these little touches can make a difference. The hotel is very clean and the staff work amazingly hard and they are all to be commended and congratulated. All staff meet you with a smile on their face and go some way to make you feel welcome. I would say that 99% of the clientele are German. Our biggest gripe and criticism is the food. We found it boring, lukewarm, in fact some hot food was stone cold. My partner, a non meat eater, really struggled to find food to eat. Unlike other reviewers, we felt that there was less choice in food here, than other hotels, we felt that the food was very hit and miss. Some days reasonable, some just awful. We don't feel that we are especially picky, we just like food cooked correctly and to a reasonable standard. Just our opinion though. The hotel itself is lovely but for us, the food lets it down big time. The poor food quality would probably stop us returning, but if they were able to turn this around, hire accomplished chefs etc. this hotel in this price bracket, would be difficult to beat.
This was our 3rd visit to this resort over 10 years and always wondered about this hotel so chose it after checking the reviews on this site. The location is central just across the road from the fantastic beach, which has a walk way giving you a walk of around half an hour either direction. Inside on arrival you was greeted with a glass of wine and chech in was smooth and fast with luggage taken up to the room for you. We had booked a superior sea view room which was worth every penny, which had sun beds as well as seats and a table. Our room was clean and comfortable and I will mention because you may be like me and not notice the sign that says if you want your bedding changed put the card on it, so it was several days before the sheets were changed. The internet also was hit and miss and we struggled to access it but the staff were great helping us access it. We also managed to find a channel on the tv which had English films. Towels for the pool were provided. Food was a big disappointment purely because we knew that lots of Germans go to this resort and always found that the standard of food very high in previous hotels and expected the same here. So to find that there was hardly any thing we fancied most days was depressing. At least it helped us not to put too much weight on. The staff in the restaurant were lovely and so efficient and friendly. Entertainment was the usual mixture and was provided every evening I especially enjoyed the Abba mania and one of the pianist was good playing some songs that we could sing to quietly and some couples danced to which was great to watch. Overall the holiday was very relaxing and only the choices of food was the one disappointment.
