In the second night we had a mouse in the room (see picture below), and the night receptionist was saying that he can't do nothing, after I told him I will sleep on the couch in the reception area, he called a manager and I received a new room only for that night. At the buffet in the restaurant I saw lots of cockroaches, it was absolutely disgusting (see picture below).
I stayed in H10 Playa Esmeralda in Fuerteventura, as an all-inclusive. This hotel really represents the H10 standards!! The highest quality in all the departments! It is obvious that the management of this hotel, knows exactly what they are doing!! All the staff is fantastic, always kind and with a genuine smile, leaving an impression that they really enjoy their job. You will feel like a king if you stay in this hotel. Food is absolutely amazing, the all-inclusive cocktails are fabulous, the beautiful beach is just steps away. Have a morming coffee and an evening mojito on the bar terrace, the views are stunning!! Perfect choice if you are looking for a relaxing, up-scale holiday with an outstanding service. I give them 10 out of 5!
I must say that when i wanted to write a review the very first day it would have been much worse. Anyway The reception. They are friendly but not very helpful and check in takes really long time. Houskeeping: rooms are clean but they never put you additional tissuses or soap. Food: managed to have twice coffee with some dead bugs. And once saw a bug wondering on the bread. Otherwise i think the food was mostly ok. The most important this hotel is not people with diabilities. It does say that there is a wheelchair access. That is not very true. There is one toilet for disabled people but this is just the name. No room had just shower - so i was told in reception. Toilets are very low. So for eldery people with joint issuses i would not recomend this hotel. The reception just smiled when i told about the bugs in the coffee. And as in some prevoius reviews: this is a hotel for german speaking people. Some of the staff do not understand english at all. Maybe they should add this to the information of the hotel? This hotel also takes deposits for everything. My mistake i choose the hotel as this kind of thing makes me wonder what the hotel thinks about its guests. Deposit for towels at the pool etc. The hotel is at the beach. But for a person who does not walk well there is no way to go there. Starting from November it is adults only. So just for younger generation? Or young adults🙂 They do say they have wifi in all common areas. Maybe. But not at the pool bar. But fortunately the weather was wonderful. And all this did not completely ruin my vacation.
Three of us spent a week at this Wonderful Hotel. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The food is delicious and a great choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are always willing to help and look after you. We have already booked to return next year and this Hotel is now adult only and look forward to seeing what new changes there will be. We thoroughly enjoyed the new coffee shop on this visit. Can’t wait for my next trip.
We have just returned from a half term week break at the H10 Playa Esmeralda and I can honestly say that this is, by far, the worse 4* hotel we have ever stayed in. We travel to the Canaries at least twice a year and always stay in 4* hotels. Never have we experienced anything quite as bad as this. First impressions of the hotel were good. The reception area is impressive, check-in was efficient and our room was basic but had everything we needed. Sadly things went downhill rapidly from then on..... We chose this hotel because of previous good reviews but our experience was very different so something must have changed recently. The main issue was with the restaurant. The food was very poor quality. On day 2 of our holiday my wife became very ill. I cannot be sure this was due to food poisoning and I wouldn't want to blame the hotel without absolute proof however, 24hrs later when my wife felt well enough to eat again we went to dinner and naturally she was very cautious about what she ate. She cut everything in half to check it was cooked and to her horror found the pork was raw (picture below). She immediately reported this to a member of staff but her concerns were ignored and the pork was served to other guests which is absolutely unacceptable and a real hazard to health. Throughout the rest of the week there were many other instances where food hygiene standards were not adhered to. Food was often lukewarm at best; one evening we had meatballs that were cold in the middle. Our efforts to report these problems were ignored. The hotel is very remote. The nearest shops (4 of them in a run-down shopping centre) are a 20 minute walk away and in all honesty not worth visiting. Because of the remote location we expected the hotel to provide some quality evening entertainment but every night it was a duo or DJ who played for an hour in the corner of the pool snack bar. The issue with the entertainment may be due to the fact they are changing the old entertainment centre into a 'privilege club' for when the hotel becomes adults only from November. The hotel needs to be considerate of its current guests and we should not have received second rate service (because the price we paid did not reflect this). The staff in the BARS and restaurant did not make us feel welcome. They made us feel like an inconvenience. It was obvious they were not happy and this must reflect issues higher in the management chain. We would never return to this hotel and we are so disappointed with our experience we will probably now avoid the H10 group altogether. We were happy to leave and this is something we have NEVER said about a hotel before but is testament to just how disappointing our experience of the H10 Playa Esmeralda was.
Me and my wife have spent a week at this hotel it is very poor the service is poor the food is poor we go away a lot all ways to h10 group but i can honest say this is bad bad bad not good enough for a 4 star the pool bar food is the same will not be coming back
nice stay in the hotel, very friendly staff, clean room and delicious food. But all those "fkk-people" at the beach are annoying, especially if you stay there with a small child, I thought there was a special fkk-beach up north, but not at the hotel... but everything else was fine!
My husband and I have just got back from ten days at this hotel. What can I say, Superb! When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely young man on reception, very friendly and spoke very good English. We went to our room, it was lovely but on the ground floor and we prefer to be higher up, we went back to reception and the same young man changed our room to the third floor, no problem at all. The second room was lovely too, spacious, clean, plenty of storage space and loads of hangers, topped off with a fantastic sea and pool view. The bar is well staffed and stocked, label drinks free on all inclusive, the cocktails, which are not pre mixed ones were delicious and also free on all inclusive, so to is coffee and tea. Nice also to have table service. Staff on the bar were also lovely. The restaurant is large, waiters take your drink orders and then you have buffet style food as well as chefs cooking fresh fish, meat, and eggs, pancakes etc at breakfast. My husband and I had no trouble finding food we liked at all in the ten days we stayed. The pool area is large, plenty of sunbeds, you do get the usual reserving with towels but we never had a problem finding a bed. The pool bar was great, the same drinks available as the main bar, and food was not stored heated or undercover, you order food at the table and it is prepared to order which was great. We really liked the coffee bar "Mikes" that is onsite, and every morning we had a lovely coffee sat either outside on the terrace on in the stylishly decorated interior. There is a new restaurant being built at the moment, but the disruption was minor and did not affect our holiday at all. We'd like to make a special mention to Gorka, one of the waiters in the main restaurant, he was so efficient, always serving our drinks and clearing our table with a smile. And also to the maid, we never saw her but she did an amazing job every day. We have visited Fuerteventura approx 25 times in the past 20 years, stayed in several different hotels across the island and this is by far one of the best so far. We will definitely be going back to this hotel at some point in the future.
Avoid room 2322. You pay for sea view but actually get parking viewThere are some dumpsters, dumpster, in which staff each night eject much garbage. room stinks faulty sewerage, which badly works. and this room we got with my birthday discount from chain administration. It is my 5 th time in the hotel and each year I can t to get the room on the floor that I ask about with booking and in special mail 10 days before check-in.
My husband and I stayed here for one week 7th Oct-14th Oct 2017 Pros of hotel: Getting to the hotel was fine with transfer air conditioned bus and took about an hour Very clean/nice décor The second room we had was on the beach overlooking the ocean which was lovely The bar area looking out over to the ocean is fab Overall feel of the hotel is luxurious View from the hotel is lovely Drinks are named spirits and cocktails are lovely No issue getting a sunbed at anytime of the day Some staff very polite (Macarena in the bar and Sophia on reception were lovely) If you don't want to anything but sunbathe and eat/drink then this hotel would be great Cons of Hotel: We were not advised that there was building works going on. Had paid for a sea view and ended up in the hexagon part of the building in an odd shaped room. sea view was good but building works underneath were a nightmare. Asked to move immediately but were told there were no other rooms. we were able to move the second day and requested a room on the beach front which was much better. We were strongly advised to activate the safe in our room to store valuables and that it would be approx. 20 euros to do this. I felt that they were insinuating staff (cleaners) etc could not be trusted and secondly that we had to then pay for the privilege. No Irons available in the room. I went to reception to ask for an iron only to be told there is a sheet of paper in the safe (which I didn't want) where you can (with 2 days notice) have an ironing service?? I was then advised I could go to the local 'shopping centre' to buy an iron. I did walk to the shopping centre (in the blistering heat) to purchase the said iron. Only to find there was no shop selling irons?? Luckily the hotel is not the type of place anyone bothers getting dressed up in the evenings but I found that having no irons is completely ridiculous in consideration of the price of the hotel. The hotel is dominated by German tourists, so the food is geared to them. Also I felt that staff were more friendly to those guests but that might be because there wasn't a significant language barrier. The hotel only has one main restaurant which is like a cafeteria, so I was disappointed that there was no where with a romantic feel to have a nice meal with my husband. Although considering there was no iron available it may have been a bit difficult to find something to wear for a nice evening out anyway.Since there is virtually no where to go outside of the hotel. There is a pool bar which provides salads/burgers etc and a coffee shop but I would expect a hotel this size to have at least one or two al la carte restaurants. There were significant building works going on at the hotel which we were unaware of before our trip so the noise of drilling/banging etc wasn't great. There is nothing to do in the evenings except go to the main bar and there was no entertainment there. They had kids entertainment is the pool bar but nothing for the adults. Considering most of the guests appear over 60 years old, I found this surprising. Everything shuts down around 11pm. My husband and I were surprised that most evenings by 11pm we found we were alone in the main hotel bar area as everyone had gone to bed. Unless you like watersports there isn't really anything to do outside of the hotel. The landscape is baron and it was very hot so its not like you can go for long walks. The excursions are very limited (as we don't like watersports) but if you like to do nothing but sunbathe this place is fine. Some staff I found to be quite 'stand offish' and unwelcoming. I was not aware that the beach didn't belong to the hotel and as a result you had to pay 13 euros for 2 sunbeds and a parasol for the day. On the beach there are a German nudists (mostly 65 years plus and I found it gross), I also found it hard to walk along the beach with my eyes shut!! Overall the holiday was Ok by day 4 I was a bit bored and wishing we'd gone to Lanzarote or Tenerife instead. The hotel was OK. Would I return! No
