The room was very nice and spacious. The restaurant was groaning with food of a very high standard. Had you eaten all you fancied, you too would have been groaning! The main swimming pool was not very warm.
We stayed again in April 2018, co-inciding with my birthday. We were given a room with a lovely sea view, plently of space and a balcony ovelooking gardens and sea. The hotel facilities were really nice. All the hotel staff were really pleasant and always willing to help when asked. We really enjoyed walking along the sea front to the port and beyond, a daily activity in the pleasant weather. The buffet restaurant menu theme was changed daily offering a range of different choices through the week. A really nice touch was a surprise bottle of cava, some chocolates and a birthday card, many thanks for that, really appreciated.
We are currently staying at Elba Sara and, as a 30 year old couple, are certainly in the minority! The hotel is heavily populated by young families (lots of kids here) and elderly couples. Negative points: - The hotel is not “on the beach”. I have stayed at the Elba Carlota down the road before where you walk out of the hotel onto the beach. This one you have to walk a few minutes down - The fridge in the room is not set to a low enough temperature. You have to leave a bottle of water in there all day for it to be slightly cooler than it was. - We are staying all inclusive and dined at the Italian restaurant one evening. We went to reception to ask if we could book for another evening and were told we had to pay €15 per person for an additional visit!! Never been told previously that you were only allowed one visit!! - The air conditioning in the room is not cold. We wake up in the night as the room is very stuffy. Complained about this at reception and they sent an engineer but nothing has changed nor have we been given an update. - Evening entertainment aimed heavily towards the kids. The bar area upstairs usually has a singer but the atmosphere isn’t exactly lively. - They request that you pay a €20 deposit for pool towels and another deposit if you want to play table tennis. I find this a tad insulting after paying over £1500 for the holiday. - There is only ever one person serving at the snack bar so if you want drinks whilst at the pool be prepared for a wait! Won’t be staying here again and would advise any young couples that it may not be the place for you! We came for a relaxing holiday rather than to party but are left feeling disappointed by the hotel.
If you are after a relaxing holiday in an excellent hotel the Elba Sara is perfect choice. The hotel is clean and modern,. The rooms are very comfortable. The staff are all very efficient and polite. The food is brilliant, they cater for all tastes . We have been several times at different times of the year and have never had cause to complain.
This hotel is very good for couples, people with children or older couples. It’s suits everyone! Nice location, good food and drinks. Close to beach and shops. The staff in this hotel are very good they waiter on you so well.
We have had two holidays at the Elba Sara ( we keep going back ) sept/Oct 2017 and March 2018. We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is excellent in all respects ( except perhaps one - more later ) The welcome from the staff we have known for many years ,makes you feel great ( It is not only us - but all friends of the hotel ) The rooms are comfortable and clean , they seemed to be doing some refurbishment when we left in March. The food was excellent - great choice - enjoy the seafood especially. The animation team work very hard and do an excellent job especially with the young children The Italian evening is a highlight with great food and nice to be waited on once in the week. The poolside and gardens are well maintained - loungers were being cleaned in March ready for the summer. There are some lovely walks from the hotel in all directions. It is difficult to fault this hotel. Just one small moan - There are no English news channels on the T.V ( This disappeared on Sept 30th ) Not all of us have i-phones or tablets ! Personally I enjoy 10 minutes news from England ( and the world ) twice a day to keep in touch. We are now planning our next stay next year. See you then MANY THANKS FOR TWO GREAT RELAXING HOLIDAYS.t
Arrived at the hotel on 21/04/2018, had booked a sea view room and was allocated a room on the second floor with only a view of the kids pool and some trees, went and complained at reception and we were allocated another room immediately on the fifth floor with a good sea view so excellent service so far, I stayed here half board and you have to open an account as nowhere in the hotel do they accept cash, no problems doing that but when I checked out there was discrepancies on my bill so if you are not all inclusive keep and check your receipts. Good points, staff are brilliant and cant do enough for you, food, plenty of choice with themed nights, just your typical buffet style meals, don't expect restaurant quality, if you like taking part with the animation team then they work very hard and there is plenty to do, large rooms with good beds, entertainment at night was not too bad the couple of times we went to watch it, not so good, the dining room is very noisy and at times had difficulty getting cups, spoons etc. as the staff appeared to be under pressure to keep up with the demand, the décor is looking a bit tired, it is wallpaper and can be seen peeling off all around the hotel and is badly marked in places, heated pool is a bit of an exaggeration as it could do with being a few degrees warmer, the heated pool was one of the reasons we booked this hotel, have stayed at other four star hotels with heated pools and they were a lot warmer than this one, mini fridge in room, ours ran at 22 degrees centigrade, more of a slow cooker, I did report this and got an immediate response, 2 maintenance men appeared, checked the fridge was working and left without saying anything, I had reported the fridge was working it just wasn't cooling anything down, I gave up after that so we just purchased a cool bag and ice cubes from the SPAR next door every day, drinks at the bar are expensive ten euro fifty for a large beer and brandy and cola, and that is the cheap brandy, they insist on giving you bottled cola if you are not all inclusive, two euro fifty for a 220ml bottle. I enjoyed my stay but would not return as travelling as a couple we felt that the hotel is geared up for families and catering for the all inclusive.
Came Monday 23rd April for 1week with my husband .All inclusive is a must in this hotel ,there is something for everyone,I could not fault this hotel at all , from amazing friendly staff who can't do enough for you ,to the entertainment crew .Victor ,Steve and Lukas are fantastic with the kids ,as well as adults and peppe the caterpillar is a hit with all the kids. They have shooting ,darts ,ball games ,ping pong water aerobics ,poolside bingo plus many more activities if you wish to join in.We had a prestige room with sea views ,it had robes and slippers ,mini bar all included in the price plus coffe/tea facilities chocolates everyday and a bottle of cava .FANTASTIC is all I can say ,cant wait to return .Mrs Coralee Harvey.
Just returned from a week's girly break at the Elba Sara. From check in, where we had an amazing welcome, to check out the whole week was fantastic. The staff here really make your stay special. I emailed the day before to ask for a quiet room on a high floor and they fulfilled my late request. Room was very clean with toiletries and tea/coffee replenished daily. The chocolates were an unexpected treat! Pool area had lots of spare sun beds though I expect that may be a problem in high season. We were half board and sometimes the dining room was very noisy, but we usually ate late so it had started to quite down. Plenty of choices to eat, especially as we both have very different tastes. Great service in the reataurant.Evening entertainment wasn't really to our taste but it was good fun. Animations team were on the go all day and all night and worked hard to keep everyone entertained. We had a couple of cloudy days but took the opportunity to walk off the good food. Caleta has plenty of shops and restaurants and the market is worth a visit. One place to visit is The Chocolate Shop to sample the best lemon meringue pie I have ever had! I personally wouldn't go here during school holidays as I think it could be a bit manic but in April it was just what we needed for a spring break.
just returned from a second visit within a year, and cant wait to go back all the staff are very friendly and always there to help, the food is excellent and never fails to disappoint, the animation team are brilliant and do their very best to get everybody involved with the various activities on offer golf, zumba.boules, archery etc so something for everybody. there are 3 bars one being the Broadway showbar where the evening entertainment takes place , some good shows put on during the week , but if chilling is your thing the bar near reception has a singer on occasionally and was a great way to end the day after a day on the fantastic beach just a 2 minute walk away. further into the town only a 20 minute walk or 3 euro taxi ride is the main town with plenty of bars restaurants and shops if you fancy a change from sitting by the pool and singing chi chi wah trust me you will be singing it for weeks after :) overall I would recommend the elba sara to young and the not so young alike and we will be returning next year 100%.
