Everything was perfect from the hotel room to the food. The hotel was clean throughout & very friendly staff. IVO & Martin from the animation team were OUTSTANDING! They both are very efficient, professional & they made our stay so memorable! The activities were always enjoyable & ran smoothly. Just when you thought they couldn't do anymore when it comes to the evening the animation team put on an amazing show full of fun, energy & professionalism. Don't hesitate to stay at this hotel it'll be the best one you'll stay at on the island. Relaxation and lots of fun for all ages. #Tino #Tina's40 #Honeymoon #Itsallaboutme
Good hotel, heated outdoor pool a plus and friendly staff. Entertainment was good and staff worked hard but lacked variety, would have liked to have more live singing by different people rather than miming.
We had a fab time, we'd last visited nine years ago and I thought everything had improved and everyone worked really hard to ensure we had a lovely holiday. The food was lovely and good quality. We did a few trips organised by Thomson and they were good value and very enjoyable. There is lots to do around Caleta de Fuste and it is very close and convenient for the airport. The spa is a very nice treat and I enjoyed the entertainment which the staff worked hard to present. I know some guests thought I had drank too much if I'd enjoyed it - but hey you're in Fuerteventura not the West End, they tried hard and it was entertaining and it has to cater to varied tastes, ages and nationalities. Rather miming than really bad singing any day and you can't fault the enthusiasm. The kids club is really good and once enticed in our 9 year old had a great time. They put really good things on such as mini golf, bouncy castles etc.
Fabulous hotel, area also excellent. Doubt anyone could be disappointed with The Barcelo which is literally on the beach front, about a minutes walk! The staff are always attentive and helpful, this is our second stay here, two years in a row. Plenty of sunbeds at the pools, we literally cannot find fault or anything negative about this hotel. Everything we needed in a resort and hotel was provided as we were all inclusive, varied selection and good nutritious food at all meal times, drinks also very good. Absolutely no complaints from any of the three of us who stayed for two weeks.
We arrived on 17/07/17 and first impressions on reaching reception were wow! The young lady at reception promptly checked us in at midday and our room was ready, bonus! I had booked a sea view and it was fabulous. I realised we had left a rucksack in the cab, it had my son's things and a lot of our toiletries in there, but the lovely young lady at reception, sorry I didn't get her name, tracked it down for us and it arrived the next day. The hotel was very clean, the pools were fab, plenty of sun beds. Our room was great, clean, spacious and the beds were very very comfy! I was a little unsure of the restaurant on the first day, but from day 2 the food was great! The staff were all very friendly, and a shout out to Carlos, he made us laugh every day. The beach was a bit gravely but once you got to the wet sand or moved a bit further to right it was amazing. The inflatable assault course up near the mini harbour kept my son bus and exhausted him! The evening entertainment was ok, the acts all gave it their best, but perhaps it just wasn't for us. My only gripe is nobody told me about the voucher you get if you book direct, it wasn't with my check in reciepts or mentioned to me by reception, I only knew about it when I got home. However, overall the hotel was amazing, all the staff work really hard, and the view from my terrace was the best!!!
First time on Fuertaventura and in this hotel for a family holiday. I was a bit daunted by the size at first being 400+ rooms but the facilities provided and the relaxed atmosphere more than cater for the number of guests. Rooms were well appointed and spacious with adequate facilities. Minor problems were quickly dealt with. Staff in all areas of the hotel were exceptionally friendly, helpful and ready to serve. Dining was easy, with great variety and quality. The beach is not sand it's fine white gravel but was still pretty and plenty of sun beds in early July. Sunbed availability around the pool was pretty good at all times, although shaded beds were in shorter supply. Some local shops and a few restaurants but not a great variety, although suited us fine for a week as we were all inclusive anyway. Overall one of the most pleasant holidays I've ever had. I would go again.
We have just returned from our 2nd trip to this hotel and I couldn't not write a review after seeing some of the ridiculous reviews posted on here. I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels for families I have stayed in. It is clean and well maintained and the staff could not be friendlier from the entertainments team to the bar staff and cleaning staff. If your sole purpose of your holiday is to find faults then yes you may find the odd cracked tile if you go searching however of you aren't a hotel inspector who has nothing better to do with their time then it shouldn't spoil the rest of the amazing hotel. Travelling with a 4 year old and 8 week old baby, the entertainments team were amazing especially Marta, Cheyenne and Tommy who my 4 year old fell in love with and cried when we left. They made his time extra special and after 1 day home we have already looked at booking next year. The food was fantastic and although everyone has different expectations unless you are expecting gourmet dining I can't see why you would be disappointed. The all inclusive area is very clearly labelled and anyone who has booked half board is well aware of what they can access during the day. We saw people try their luck at getting free food and drink however did not see any waiters pulling them up on it unfortunately but guess people will push their luck anywhere. As for the reviews talking about the sand and the weather, I'm sure the staff at the Barcelo are very sorry they cannot stop the wind for you or replace the volcanic sand with sand from the Maldives, and am sure they will endeavour to do better next time....or are just relieved you won't be returning. Happy holidays if you are lucky enough to visit this hotel soon.
We have recently visited this hotel and found it to be top class We read the reviews and decided to spend a week there for some much needed relaxation Right from the start we were made to feel relaxed and welcome Check-in was quick and easy , the staff were all friendly and spoke very good English too This isn't a problem for me as I speak Spanish however my wife does not so it was nice to know that she didn't have to struggle to communicate with the staff when asking for food or drinks or directions The Barcelo Fuerteventura is situated on the coast very close to a large sandy beach where you can hire sun beds for the day if you so desire, there are also camels you a can ride on too for about €10 a ride The hotel is spotlessly clean and wherever you go there are industrious members of staff working hard to keep the place running smoothly The drinks were great quality and available all day every day but one word of warning , there is usually a rush at the bar around 10:45 pm as the all inclusive stops at 11:00 pm The food is of a decent standard and the chefs prepare omelettes etc in front of you at breakfast and steaks and chicken at dinner As was mentioned on previous reviews there are plenty of sun-beds around the pool area so finding one is not a problem however some people did go out at 6:am to pick the ones nearest to the bar and put towels on them even though the hotel ask people not to do it and they seemed to be mostly English people ( sad but true )..... The night time entertainment was surprisingly better than we expected and the animation team worked very hard on their routines for the next day..we saw them practicing late at night a few times It's mainly aimed at families but if , like us you aren't that bothered about the shows there are a few really good bars a short walk away such as Piero's that are open until the early hours , where drinks are inexpensive and the entertainment lasts well into the night A good tip for anyone that seeks peace and quiet during the day as we did is to book a superior room, this allows you free entry on a daily basis to the fantastic spa that is only about 200 yards away through the rear gate of the hotel , close enough to get to easily, but far enough away from the noise of the main pool and all the little children splashing and screaming in the kiddies pool The spa has treatments available at an extra cost but if you want to just relax in a peaceful sun trap away from any noise that is the place to be They have 4-poster beds and plenty of sun-beds too around the outside pool There is a heated indoor pool and hot and cold area's with plunge pools so the whole spa experience is well worth the cost of the superior room Just down from the hotel along a very nice promenade is a harbour with various attractions including a sea-lion show and a glass-bottomed boat you can go out on , there are a few bars and cafe's down there too in case you get hungry Each Tuesday and Saturday there is a market just up the road where you can barter for various goods and whatever you do don't pay the first price they ask , always barter for things Some reviews on here have mentioned feral cats roaming around but to be honest we only saw 3 or 4 cats that were lying on the grass away from the pool area and they weren't a problem at all Lastly if you have a late flight time it might be worth asking for a late check out time We found this to be most beneficial in our case as it took all the hassle and pressure out of travelling back home All in all a great stay in a fantastic place We will definitely be visiting again when we can Stuart C De Holroyd M.I.E.E.
Second visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed. We like this hotel as it is close the airport and opposite the beach with fantastic facilities. Great choice of food and welcoming staff. Will definitely visit a third time!
Very pleased with this hotel. After reading negative comments you do worry slightly but no need everything was fine. Food was great as was room and entertainment. Had a great view from our room which was an added bonus.
