The hotel has good and bad points but the problem is that the bad points are extremely bad. GOOD There is hotel parking and we received a voucher whilst booking which covered the parking cost. Food in the hotel was good and there was plenty choice in the food hall. Although repetitive. We saw cockroaches in the food hall a few times but I believe that is very common in Fuerteventura and not the fault of the hotel. There are plenty places to eat around if you get bored of the hotel food. One of the pools was heated which was really good. BAD Whilst booking online it seemed like a luxury hotel and that’s why we booked it but the service when required was extremely disappointing. The room smelt of sewage. When mentioned to reception they sent someone to use some chemicals but that didn’t help. We had to sleep in an extremely smelly room with a child for the entire duration which was expected to be a luxury holiday. I asked the man in reception for a foam pillow and was told that I didn’t have the right room-type to request a foam pillow. What kind of service is this? Wow, at least charge me and give me the pillow so your customer has a better experience!!! I was paying well over Eur 2000 for this stay which I believe would warrant my pillow request at minimum (or a room that doesn’t smell of sewage). The bathroom had thick mold as can be seen in the picture. It was really uncomfortable to go into the bathroom each time and made it difficult to relax. The smell in the room made it difficult to relax in the room and fall asleep at night. We spent most of our time outside of the room but had to come back each night to sleep there. Quite an horrid experience. I always select the expensive upper category hotels to ensure this type of stuff doesn’t happen and that the staff treats you with respect but this hotel failed on many levels. The sheets were hardly changed and the bed was was old and saggy. The sofa bed was old and flimsy. It also looked very dirty and dusty. Please update all of your rooms, do something about the smell which many are complaining about and train your staff in customer service. You will then have a top hotel but at the moment it seem like hit and miss/Russian roulette.
Been to this hotel a couple of times, but not as good, our room was on the ground floor we could here every person walking past all night and the music was terrible,so sleep and rest was not good, food sometimes good but not always had a few meals out, charged for the safe not good paid for allinclusive, some drinks are in with the inclusive but not all.maids came at Ramdon times some was good some did nothing. The room was a good size with fridge and kettle and tv was excellent all English channels.Good location with shops and resturants and a lovely beach, weather has been so windy and cold not the hotels fault ,but rooms have no heating.
Accommodation in this hotel is fantastic, really big rooms with the most comfortable beds. Majority of the rooms I could see had views of the sea. Staff are very friendly and helpful and everything we requested was given. Restaurant was good, choice of food was very good, the only problem we found in a group of four that the staff insisted we use a small table for meals, there was not enough room especially at breakfast with the tea and coffee pots so you felt cramped. Would recommend this hotel.
Over priced mediocre hotel . No one should charge for beach towels and a safe these days. One waitress was hostile and we had to avoid her area for ten days . Scary lady . Older staff were lovely . Head for their areas . Food was barely warm so microwave was welcome . Needs more . Rooms were clean . Reception staff were good .
The hotel was first class food and staff excellent, the only negatives was the night entertainment was not our cup of tea and we had a week of poor weather and the room on a night was freezing they have no heating!! Location was very good
Excellent Hotel. Good choices of food ,nice quiet room (in Area 3) also excellent WI-FI in bedroom. Only10/15mins from airport (no trouble with plane noise's) Hopefully will go again in the not so distant future.
Well positioned on front of promenade. Excellent choice of food and quality. Buffet food continually replenished and food available cooked to order. Lovely swimming pools. Friendly helpful staff. Gym small some equipment needs updating. No mats available for floor work .
Based on our stay in the Adults Only Barcelo Hotel in Lanzarote last October, my husband and I decided to choose another hotel in this chain. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed the same high standards during our stay here. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of options during breakfast and dinner. We opted for Half Board as we like to visit other eateries for lunch and snacks so not in a position to comment on the All Inclusive aspect of it. The room was spacious and spotless and we had a balcony overlooking the pool as requested. There were plenty of loungers and towels could be rented if required. The entertainment was first class and the animation team were extremely pleasant to engage with, Loved the big foyer and the theatre-style entertainment area which was so comfortable. The location is perfect, almost on the beach and boasts a lovely promenade right on its doorstep All the staff were pleasant and courteous and I could not find fault with any part of my stay. I would not hesitate to return.
Had high expectations of this hotel and in most respects it is a very good hotel. We were unfortunate in that our two week stay coincided with a very cold spell of wet and windy weather. This is in no way the fault of the hotel, of course. However, this is the coldest hotel we have ever experienced. Our room was unbelievably cold at all times. We obtained a second duvet which was most welcome at night. During the day we couldn't find anywhere cosy to sit. The dining room was cold, the bar and theatre were also cold. On asking at reception we were told there was no way to adjust the room temperature. Other reviewers have mentioned being offered extra heating at a cost but this wasn't offered to us. I imagine that in the summer this cool refuge would be most welcome but in February it was uncomfortably cold. Moving on from this, the room was comfortable and in better weather the balcony would have been a fantastic place to relax. We declined the use of the safe at 3 euros per day. Beach towels are provided on payment of a 20Euro deposit. Should they need exchanging, there is a 2 Euro charge for clean ones. Food was quite good. For us the salads were sensational. The meat for the main course was sometimes good and sometimes of inferior quality. Overall we enjoyed our meals and the dining room staff are all very nice. They work hard to keep everything topped up. It is a very large and sometimes noisy place to be! Our room was rarely cleaned before 3 in the afternoon and some days it had been done very hastily. The hotel is generally very clean though. The entertainment is very varied so I think that there is something for everyone. The animation team certainly work very hard. We enjoyed the shows we went to but again, we found the theatre very cold. We know that the hotel can't be blamed for the terrible weather we have had but it wasn't the escape from the British weather that we were hoping for. We wouldn't return at this time of year but maybe in the warm summer months we would consider it.
Having read the negative comments I wondered if its the same hotel. First, the staff were great, always polite and seemed happy. The serving staff in the restaurant were attentive and friendly. The food, was good, roast beef, roast pork, Chicken, chops etc etc yet many still found they could survive on pizza and chips. Roast Beef or pizza? Umm. Guess they have to cater for all tastes, which they do. Room. Fine, up to expected standard. The coffee/tea thing is a bit strange and maybe a tad too penny pinching. As is the extra payment for safe. Having a free safe would really imply the hotel was caring for its guests rather than fleecing them. Pool area: Unused as too cold but staff were cleaning every day. Entertainment. This is an area which was poor, in my opinion. To be fair, the room was full most nights as far as we could see, and we did partake on a couple of nights. The singer was fine, I'm afraid the in-house troop dance act lot were not. Too loud and not very good. My gripes. It's not a Spa hotel. Its a hotel with a spa nearby. It is not as described and should be advertised in a more clearer way. The hotel is nothing different to the cheaper Barcelo chalets camp next to it. For me, too many children. Visiting during school term I had hoped for no children but I forgot about those hard-pressed couples, who, after the stress of producing an offspring find they are desperate to drag it and themselves around the globe, inflict the screaming baby noise on the fellow aircraft passengers then subject us to screaming and food throwing in the dining room. All so they can get away from home for a week. The hotel should think about a separate dining area for such thoughtful minded visitors. All in all, a nice hotel, great location, good food and staff.
