My family and I travel quite a lot and frequent many four star hotels. This hotel I can tell you now is not worthy of those four stars. I would give it a three star rating. We read the terrible reviews after booking! Ooops! So we didn't expect much when we arrived. But I must say our greeting was nothing short of professional and friendly. The staff did speak some English too. If you read other reviews it says that many staff members don't. I will only speak of my personal experiences but the room was basic. Clean. No frills, but totally liveable. Nothing like you'd expect in a normal four star hotel. No free water and our safe did not work. They gave you as little as possible. Our bathroom products were limited and no conditioner with the hair products meant I couldn't wash my hair... I was also given a half tube of shower gel, clearly already been used by the previous occupant of the room.. a big no no... The bathroom itself was great and a superb power shower. Just a slight snag... if you're a happily married couple it's fine that there's no door on the bathroom, but others may find this disturbing! The pool doesn't open until June apparently but our room looked out onto it but it looked dirty and uncared for. We attempted a drink in the bar on the first night we were there. I must say it was shambolic. So much so that we decided that we would not eat there for breakfast. The service was diabolical and the staff seemed to be fed up and unhappy. We waited at least 20 minutes to be served. The bar area was dirty and messy. No tables had been cleared. Not good really. The mini bar only consists of coke, beer and a kit Kat, not much else. Quite disappointing. On the whole we had a fine time here for two nights. But it was only the two of us this time and we avoided the bar after our first terrible encounter. No I would not recommend this hotel if you have four stars in mind but if you can lower your bar and think of it as a three star then it's ok. It's just OK. It's on the outskirts of Madrid. Nowhere near the centre so you have to travel by tube to get anywhere. That said, it's reflected in the price.
The staff was nice, but the hotel was seedy. There is a "car" environment not pleasante at all. The breakfast was not good for a 4stars hotel. To my opinion it does not deserve 4stars, it s rather a 3.
The only real good thing about the hotel is its proximity to Telefonica City (a few minutes by taxi). The room is very basic, with just a shower. The phone in the room didn't work. Service was OK, and breakfast was good. Nice collection of cars in the lobby.
Just some breif points: - asked at the receoption for plastic fork cos I usually have breakfast in my room, and the administrator said that they couldn't do it. why? cos they weren't allowed, because if I wanted to ear I had to pay for breafasts and eat at their restaurants. - cleaning stuff is trying to get into your oom 15 times a day even if you put "do not disturb sign" (sometimes it does fall down, but it's cos it's made of toilet paper and doesn't stick to the door handle) - cleaning stuff also uses some extremely stinky cleaning material that it's impossible to stay inside the room after it was cleaned. talking to receptionists about it doesn't make a difference. their answer for everying - "you can move to a different room if you want" - as always, no internet except for downstairs lobby, especially on higher floor it doesn't even catch the signal.
We stayed at this hotel since it was close to a wedding we attended and were recommended this hotel. But this hotel is very far from 4 stars! The lobby looks nice, the rooms are ok despite slightly dusty, dirty windows and very hard beds. The breakfast area was always left in a state and wasn't cleaned up. There is a terrace with a swimming pool. I emailed the hotel to find out whether it would be open in October and they emailed us back saying NO it would be closed. It was actually open when we were there and we were disappointed, since some of us didn't bring swimwear because of this and it was very hot and a swim would have been nice. Although this sad, the pool wasn't very clean and the entire pool area was extremely messy and dirty. It looked absolutely abandoned: broken chairs and deckchairs lying around, dirty floor. There was also a top floor terrace which was closed due to refurbishment work so we weren't able to sit upstairs. So the only area to sit outdoors and get some air was the filthy terrace. The hotel is located in a not very nice area and it the rooms don't have any nice views, best views would be the rooms looking at the back on the hotel pool but as said this area is extremely unkept! On some of the floors in the hotel hallways skirting board tiles had come off and not repaired, this also looked extremely unkept. The staff at reception aren't very professional and do not know how to speak to clients in standard that would meet a 4 star hotel. Unfortunately I got very sick on this trip and was taken to hospital, the reception was aware of this but no one afterwards enquired if I was ok or if they could assist us in anyway. On the day of check out they extended our check out to 2pm considering we had now booked another night due to being unfit to travel. We now had stayed in a suit to have little bit more comfort. At 2.20pm we got a very stern phone call from reception complaining why we hadn't been down yet to check out. They didn't take into consideration that I was severely ill or asked to help us with our luggage or anything. All in all we had various bad experiences but can't all list them in this review. All I would say is if you are a seasoned traveler and have stayed at 4 or 4 stars Hotels then avoid this hotel because you will be extremely disappointed!! Book a reputable hotel in the city that lives up to 4 star standard or book a standard chain hotel such as holiday Inn if you're budget doesn't allow it.
The hotel is basic and suitable for a base if you do not need or want to explore the centre of Madrid. I didn't experience the food in the hotel (walked to a couple of restaurants about 10 mins down the street) so I cannot comment, however if you do arrive late at the hotel don't expect the bar to be open. This closed at 11pm. The decor is a bit out there and the cars on the ground floor make this look slightly like an exhibition instead. In all the room was of a good size, well cleaned and was ideal to meet our client. I wouldn't stay here for a tourist trip though simply because of how far it is away from the sights.
The hotel is nice, just in the outskirt of Madrid, need around an hour to go downtown but the Madrid metro is wonderful. Small restaurant with not much choice but good food and nice waiter. The hotel has an exposition of old car, Ferrari, Roll Royce,......
You can't access half the floors on the hotel meaning restaurants, gym ect... The restaurant not one person speaks any bit of English even though this is a business hotel with I'm sure people all over the world stop? No conditioner in rooms but shampoo ? No ice available at all in a country that reaches 38 degrees, old kitkatt and Pringles in room which we thought what someone had left but was there by hotel for people who stay middle aged man who seems to be the key keeper just walking around quite rude! Also there is not form of dessert in the so called restaurant at all best thing about the hotel is the air con only reason you have 3 stars of me oh and 1.99 euros each for tiny bottles of water!
I don't write that many reviews but finally got around to this one as i think it's important to share good or less than good experiences. This is just functional and nothing special. Same as earlier reviews, why have the glitz and glamour of expensive show cars but fail in terms of the basics? Breakfast was quite good the day I briefly tried it, but, I cannot comment on the dinner service (though colleagues warned me to avoid it all costs). The painted steep driveways are lethal in wet weather and I observed another guest taking a fall on it. I rang reception and was told I had to collect any ironing board etc. I went to reception to be told I had to book out this item and there were only two available - so had to leave it until later that evening (and then requested to return in 30 minutes). What made it worse was that the flex on the iron was dangerous (see photos). So you can populate the hotel with glitz all you like but the basics needed for a business traveller are far more important. Bed was extremely uncomfortable (could feel lumps/springs) but to be fair I couldn't be bothered complaining or asking - such was my low expectation of it being resolved or any better in another room. Having since stayed at the Holiday Inn nearby, certainly recommend that place over this one if you can get in there. I don't like leaving negative feedback but this place could be so much better if it just got its' priorities right. (sell one of the cars and transform this place.....).
We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel and the taxi driver struggled to find the hotel. He dropped us outside the holiday Inn and it was about a 5 minute walk to the hotel. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman called David if I remember rightly who was very helpful even though it was midnight. He explained where we could get a cold srink from and that there was a beautiful roof terrace that we could be taken to if we wanted to see the view during our stay. He is a real credit to the hotel and the nicest member of staff we encountered throughout our whole stay! We went to our room and found two comfortable beds, the room was clean and tidy, the only downside was the lacknof privacy for the shower. There was no door so some coordination was needed for me and my friend. The WiFi was fast and worked well. On the weekends the hotel runs a shuttle to the stadium for 1 euro. Please be aware that this is not the centre of Madrid. Although the location is on the outskirts of Madrid it is really simple to navigate the metro. The line number 10 runs from Las tablas into the centre and the station is only a 15 minute walk away. On Sunday the options around the hotel are very limited. (we settled for a McDonald's that was 15 minutes away) The pool on the 2nd floor is small but suitable for relaxing and it didnt get too busy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to save some money and doesnt mind public transport. If you do choose to stay here then you must visit the rooftop for some spectacular sunset views.
