Excellent hotel staff friendly and helpful even put balloons in room for my daughters bday pool facilities really good again friendly helpful staff in leisure centre the only downside was breakfast sausages had funny taste non of us eat them and black pudding left a lot to be desired
The hotel is characterised by a very friendly and helpful staff. The room we had was a bit dated and needed an update - although it was quite comfortable and a decent size. We understand that some rooms have been refurbished so I would request one of them if possible. On a very hot night we would have liked air con! Location is good on top of frodsham hill. Excellent views from the restaurant area across the river. Breakfast pretty standard. Definitely a good place to stay.
Lovely venu, with impressive views and surrounding grounds. Visited the hotel at the end of May for my cousins wedding. This hotel has a spar and pool, none of which I used unfortunately, our room was quite modern and spotless clean ☆ see pictures, the best photos of the hotel have our drunken mugs on so won't be posting those! Our room didn't have much of a view as it was at the back, but my parents room had a view of "The Mersey". The wedding was fantastic and the night went great, the breakfast in the morning was fantastic and plenty of choose, would definitely recommend this hotel, for weddings or any other occasions.
Stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding, we had a family room which was huge 3 beds (2 singles and and double) with a cot bed, loads of blankets for the cot in recent hotels nothing has been supplied. Fridge very grateful for storing baby food. Room was quiet, bathroom is peach in colour and could do with an upgrade mixer tap on shower doesn't allow for a hot shower more lukewarm. Could have done with a nonslip bath mat as it's tricky to bath a wriggly baby safely without one. Amazing service from the lady at breakfast poached eggs perfect all weekend, lots of choice would like a better quality sausage for breakfast. Fast check in an out. Hotel was pretty warm in all areas but the pool was freezing.
We stayed here in May 2017, just for the one night. The hotel's position is truly amazing, with wonderful views across the river Mersey and over to Liverpool. It's very accessible from the M56 and offers good clean, no frills accomodation at a very reasonable price. Breakfast is extra per head, but well worth the money with a good selection of freshly cooked produce plus the usual array of cereals and fruit. My wife had dinner in the restaurant and was very pleased with the standard of the food as well as the service which she described as excellent. The rooms are quite small, but perfectly adequate for a night or two. The bed linen and bathroom were a high standard with the obvious signs of hving been dilligently cleaned. The swimming pool and sauna/gym complex were actually very good with clean changing rooms and lockers for clothes. The main plus with the hotel is the level of friendliness and efficiency of the staff; we couldn't fault them on any level.
We have stayed at Forest Hills many times over the past 3 years and been very happy with everything.Offered deal of 2 nights B & B + evening meal for £169.Limited choice on Al a Carte menu for evening meal,we both chose the Lamb Cutlets but found that we struggled to cut them and we were unable to chew the cutlets. We both left virtually a full plate of food.At the £36 price of the two uneaten meals we felt that this turned out not to be the value deal that we expected.
We have just returned home from a 2 night stay for a family wedding. The hotel was absolutely perfect. We had the dinner bed&breakfast deal, there was lots of choice for breakfast on both days and the menu for the dinner had a good variety. We had children with us a 11, 6 and 2 yr old and all of their needs were met. One of our children suffers with asthma and because the weather had been so hot it left it clammy during the night. We had to ring for a fan at 1:30am and the staff had one at our door within a few minutes. I felt the staff were approachable, very kind and lovely. There really was nothing that wasn't too much. Thank you for a lovely break. We will be returning!
We celebrated an 80th birthday at the hotel. They were really helpful and let us in early to decorated the table. The party went really well, with good service and excellent food. The view from the restaurant is brilliant and adds to the atmosphere. A really nice place.
We stayed for 4 nights at the hotel as part of a coach party visiting Chester, Liverpool, etc. Nice touches were the duty manager getting on the coach when we arrived to welcome us, and similarly to say goodbye when we left. Our room was comfortable; only gripe would be with small television screen. Also beware of sensitive sensors when using shower and be sure to put shower curtain in bath. We had dinner every night and the food was tasty and plentiful. Compliments to the chef. Staff all friendly. Hotel has spectacular view of estuary and is short walk to interesting obelisk war memorial. Very peaceful surroundings. As hotel is mainly conference and wedding venue, I am not sure whether I would want to stay as independent traveller. Could feel a bit isolated.
My wife and I stayed here for one night and found the reception greeted us with a smile and we were made welcome. The room was a good size and to a high standard. We had room service and all was well. We had a drink at the bar and all staff were well trained in customer service. We did not use the pool but plenty of people did. The breakfast was very good and tables attended to all the time. I wish we had found this hotel before as we have stayed in more expensive hotels and had less service. We will stay here again
