I'm not happy with my stay the hotel isn't very good, the general condition are poor and the service substandard. They ask for payment of the entire stay in advance of check in which I find a somewhat unusual practice and which perhaps classifies the type of client they are dealing with but which is rather annoying. If they feel they need it, they can pre-authorize the credit card but require full payment on arrival, it is obvious that they are aware that the overall level is very low and that the customer may want to leave earlier than expected. In this way they assure the gain to the detriment of the customers.
The hotel is located close to a bus stop which you are able to take a bus from the Main Railway station to the hotel, so it was easy to get to in the evening. We were lucky that the buses were still running as getting a taxi might have been a challenge! The reception staff were friendly and check in was very quick with lift access to the room. The room was very spacious and I liked the place to put your case. The room however was a little dated. The curtains only just about covered the windows and still let a lot of light in around the outside in the morning, which woke me up. The lighting in the room in the evening was very poor and very poorly lit making it hard to do any work at the desk. There are plenty of power sockets however it was a little strange not to have one by your desk to plug your laptop in. The bed for me was a little too soft and you actually sunk into it. The shower was good and powerful but maneuvering in and out of the bathroom was challenging with the way the door swung and where the toilet was positioned. We didn't have any food and there was no way that I was going to pay sixteen euros for breakfast. It was ok to stay but nothing special.
I stayed for a night for a Giethorn Village trips. The room is really big and comfortable. Will come back if I have another trip to Giethorn Water Village. Two bed in double sizes are more than enough for us with children.
Nice hotel to visit Friesland, close to Heerenveen. Good location to visit Friesland, by bike or by car. Excellent restaurant and terrace. Large rooms and good beds. Very quiet. Bathroom and room decoration were a little outdated, but comfortable.
Large room, very clean, quiet and comfortable. Setting outside busy city area but within few minute walk from bus stop. Dining on site convenient but a little pricey with upscale menu. Not any other restaurants nearby. Thetefore chose option of room with breakfast included. Well worth it. Outstanding array of options, plentiful and tasty! Cannot say enough about efficient, patient and courteous staff. They were very accomodating with the challenge of the language barrier and assisted us time and time again! All for a very reasonable price......
We stayed in this hotel for two nights; it's well located if you want to visit Friesland (like we did); outside the city center of Heerenveen, in a nice and quiet location. Free parking and free wifi available. The room was clean and spacious - two large single beds, a desk, table with chairs and a TV + fridge. The bathroom was large as well, with both a bath and shower. The beds were comfortable; however the curtains were thin and we were woken early in the morning by light coming through the window. We didn't have any breakfast or dinner in the hotel, nor did we try the bar. Prices looked quite expensive though.
I went here as a stop on a business trip. The hotel is located about 3km outside the city center with large parking facilities and a calm neihbourhood. The room was spacious enough, clean with a good bed. I took breakfast in the morning. Afterwards I saw that this standard-buffet breakfast costed 16 €. For a ridiculous price like that, you expect a champagne breakfast with service.
Spent a long weekend in this hotel on outskirts of Heerenveen in the Netherlands on half board. Hotel is very clean and staff friendly and always ready to help. Generous times for breakfast and dinner. Both buffet style with enough range to satisfy adults and kids. If you are visiting the national ice stadium this is a perfect location, if a more general visit you will need a car as not much else in the immediate area. For the summer their are tennis courts outside.
Nice enough hotel in a little northern Netherlands town. Those arriving at the Heerenveen station after dark should have already pre-researched phone numbers of local taxi firms; it's a ghost town after sundown. The rooms were basic but good enough for the business visit, service was helpful and the conference facilities were good. The one real anomaly was the incredibly dim energy-efficient lighting in the breakfast room which left me feeling as though I was going blind. It's an European thing I guess, bedrooms were the same and thank God I managed to find a tiny desk lamp in one corner of my room that still had the old fashioned light bulb in, which drew me like the sun attracts a moth. A pleasant stay.
This property, while slightly out of the way, is a modern, friendly and welcoming hotel. We arrived late in the day, and the staff were most helpful sorting our rooms and evening appointments (including ordering taxis etc). The meals were first rate. The beer was cold and plentiful in the bar. Wi-Fi was steady and reliable. This is a good example of a small hotel which marches much louder than its boot size.
