Decided to surprise my husband for our Wedding Anniversary and booked a weekend at Mantra in a 1bdr Spa Apartment, as we live local I just wanted a short getaway and have always loved this hotel for location and the views, well this stay was even better thenthe other times we have stayed here and that is saying alot because we have loved staying here before. We would really like to thank the manager Dawn and all of the staff for the beautiful surprise of Champagne, Chocolate and Candle we received once we arrived it was it was so very thoughtful and greatly appreciated so again thank you. We had beautiful views of the Marina and Mantra is close to some great eateries . I will say that the only downside is that there is very limited cooking facilities in these apartments, so if you just want to cook and stay in that is quiet hard, also a big apology for setting off the smoke detector from using the hotplates, but credit to the fantastic staff for their prompt call and attention to make sure we were ok. If saying here on a weekend take a walk to the Boat Club and try the awesome resturant El Puerto, fantastic food and service I think this is one of the best places to eat in Hervey Bay. All in all we will definitely recommend and stay here again. Thank you Mantra Hervey Bay
On all the important things Mantra came up very well. The room was very clean and well appointed. The appliances all worked and were in excellent condition. The bed was comfortable. The view was great. There was very little in the way of disturbing noises, although my ground floor room suffered from 'pipe' noise. It was in the personal customer attention that it fell short. At reception I was given the spiel at 100 kph with little eye contact. I asked about internet access and was told 'you can get it on your mobile in the room'. Okay. Later on when I went to 'get it' in my room I was prompted for a code that is only available at reception. I went to reception. One person was on duty and I waited for a long time. There was no recognition of my presence or an indicator that 'I'll be with you on a few moments'. But I understand reception busy, it was okay. When I asked about the internet access code I was given one on a post it note. It worked. But just for one day. So early in the morning when I went to do some work from the unit, 'access expired'. I am complaining not so much about the internet but actually no one really cared. Perhaps I was expecting too much.
Reception staff friendly and helpful. Maintenance staff very helpful in fixing the main door lock. Fixed it with efficiency and courtesy with minimal fuss. Location is nice. Plenty of cafe's and restaurants to choose from all within walking distance. View across the marina and beyond to Fraser Island is pleasant to look at.
great location but I like a hot shower and couldn't have one ( ( not only room with the problem). also staff barged into room after first night saying this room should be empty and that we had checked out. We clearly hadn't they insisted that their paper work was right but left to check. heard nothing not even apology. Don't ask for a late check out.
Room with view Staff member advised me that to see the views I would need to be out on my balcony and lean around the corner that would be fine if the air-conditioning unit wasn't in the way and the brackets weren't sticking out past it ( which I bumped my head on trying to see the view)
We stayed on the top floor in a spa room, it was nice just a little dated, no a/c in the bedroom was annoying. it was the little things that let it down. like the hook that hold the excess rope for the window blinds had come off the walls with most of the blinds and most of them still had the screws hanging out of the hook, the freezer shelf being broken and just resting on the bottom of the freezer and one thing that really annoys me is when the a/c outside unit is on the balcony being noisy and blowing hot air on the balcony that you are trying to sit on while taking in the view. We took our jetski with us, however when we checked in, we were told that they don't allow trailers of any type in the resort car park very surprising being a water front hotel and boating area. I asked if they were booked out and was told, No, not booked out, I asked if I could just park my ski in the gated area and leave the car outside, but still no. This is just bad luck I know, but if we were aloud in the security gate area it probably wouldn't have happened. The tie down straps were stolen, so before we could start our 500k trip home we were off to buy new tie down straps. The pool is tiny when compared to the pic's online with missing wall tiles and a water future that only half works, the sauna door was padlocked closed so we couldn't use that either. When we asked for a late check out were told that it costs $20 per hour you extra you want. and they hold the credit card deposit for up to 7 days after you have checked out. We won't stay there again.
Never holidayed in Hervey Bay before. A friend recommended The Mantra and I'm glad he did. Thanks to Dean Major from The Balaena Café and waitress Aboney for their special treat on my birthday. We came home with wonderful memories of an unforgettable one week holiday in the Bay.
After travelling for 12 hours to get to Harvey Bay due to a car issue we drive around to find accommodation for the night - this was the only place with someone in reception. After explaining we needed a place to stay for the night baring in mind that it was 10pm we were refused, the receptionist saying she had just closed. This place is happy to leave 2 women travellers without accommodation for the night. We are now sleeping in the car. Mantra should be ashamed!!!!! Don't book this place they clearly don't care about people!!!!
Thanks for the great spa room with kitchenette. Awesome view of the marina and bay. Clean, friendly staff. Best beds ever, nice and firm and not so big we couldn't find each other. Belaenas restaurant is a winner also. Walking distance to great coffee and food.
Great location. Good size rooms. Fantastic staff 😁😁😁 Great restaurant close by able to go there for breakfast, lunch and tea. I love Hervey Bay so much I have decided to move there. New home new life.
